It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a full length match with our girl, Kristin Astara but thankfully, the wait is over — a recent match has surfaced on YouTube. This is the first match made public in which Kristin competes under her new ‘Kristin Astara’ gimmick, previously going by Krissy Vaine. Hopefully, just the first of many matches we will see in future.

Kristin is set to make her WSU debut on December 11th and has lots of exciting things lined up for 2011, including a new project with Diva Dirt.

Her opponent in this match is a young up-and-comer based in South Carolina, Jayme Jameson.

  1. Kristin could’ve been huge with the WWE, she rocked her whole gimmick. She could have been Kriscool haha.

  2. I love you Kristin. I really enjoyed the match and your gimmick is perfect! =)

  3. i thought she would be a face

  4. i feel so bad for Krissy, i agree with @Aksana, she could have been so big, she went from perforrming infront of 10000 to only about 100 :(,

  5. I had the same thought as others when I saw how many people were at this show. Kristin is a great wrestler and she made it to the main roster. I still don’t understand why she left and is now back to wrestling in such small arenas. Like SherriShepardWWE said, she went from performing in front of 10,000 to 100. It’s sad.

  6. @ SherriShepherdWWE

Don’t feel bad. She left on her own terms.

  7. I agree with @iLUVMARYSE, she left on her own terms. She was just getting to the main roster and she walked away, I wish her the best and good luck.

  8. When does the crowd size affect a match? The important thing is that she’s happy and enjoying what she does. Who cares if it’s 100 or 100,000 people watching you in attendance…there’s nothing sad about it lol.

  9. I love Kristen. She reminds me of Sable. I hope she signs to TNA. That’d be sweet.

  10. If she is going to be a heel she should stick with Krissy Vaine, that is such a heel gimmick and ring name.

  11. One of WWE wishes might never happen now. I would of loved to see a Laycool version of Michelle & Krissy.

  12. I loved Krissy ever since she debuted on Smackdown in ’07. I hate that she left the WWE cuz she would’ve been huge, but hopefully TNA will sign her.

  13. Obviously the size of venue hasn’t affected Kristin’s frank wrestling ability. Even if it was on her own terms, WWE really missed out on a great character here.

  14. Adifferentsame

Kristen left WWE on her own terms. So they didnt “release” her.. So it realy wasn’t there fault.

  15. Does one of them hail from Greensboro? (Hard to make out what the announcer is saying.)

  16. I believe Kristin left because her husband wasn’t on the same roster as her? I agree with the others, Kristin should go to TNA – she could bring back her Krissy Vaine gimmick back and drag up ending Torrie Wilson’s career. I’d love it if she attacked Tara. Kristin oddly reminds me alot of Madison Rayne.

  17. Jeez the ignorance of some people on here. You do realize she was working the indies long before WWE right? So it’s not much of a shellshock. Some people don’t need 500,000 pairs of eyes in order to wrestle, it’s called passion. Mickie James even mentioned it, when she wrestled for MCW, a promotion she worked for back back in the day when she was still known as Alexis Laree – she said it reignited her passion for wrestling and reminded her why she fell in love with it. Obviously Kristen has no problem working ‘small crowds’, because I’m sure for her, it’s not the glitz and glamour it’s just straight up wrestling and people need to realize that WWE isn’t the be-all and end-all for every wrestler.

  18. cutymania: just because some people haven’t followed Kristin’s entire wrestling career, doesn’t mean they’re ignorent. It may not upset Kristin, performing infront of less people – but I was a big fan of her whole Krissy Vaine WWE appearence, and seeing as she had so much potential it is saddening to know she probably won’t get another shot with WWE.

  19. I hope Kristen goes to TNA.. they would actulay use her. If she went to WWE they would just turn her into a jobber. and she has to much talent for that.

  20. is it me or does it sound like those ropes hurt alot. Everytime one of the girls ran into them it sounded like they were getting lynched, ouch. And yeah, Kristin should be signed to TNA now that would be an amazing attraction.

  21. ryanmvs, at which point did I saw Kristin’s departure wasn’t on her own terms or that it was the WWE’s fault? My comment implied that she would have been a great asset to the company.

  22. *say, even.

  23. but when you said ” WWE missed out in a great character” It seemed like you were making a statement that they released her, which was not the case. my bad.

  24. @Aksana

It’s not about following her career from day one, it’s being happy for someone in whatever they choose to do. She chose to leave WWE because she was unhappy, she said it herself she was pretty much depressed. People these days have this silly idea that being on TV is the greatest thing ever when for some wrestlers, that’s not their main goal. Some people wrestle because they like it, not because of the exposure they’ll get or the money they’ll make. What would you say when, if Kristin ended up staying in WWE, she hardly got used and was released a year later? What would that do for her career other than get her a few more indy dates. Let’s admit here, WWE is hardly the platform to showcase any wrestling ability or talent you have as a female wrestler. Her ‘WWE’ character was hardly any different than her character prior to WWE developmental, Krissy Vaine was all about being snobby and ditzy, it wasn’t that big of a change so idk why you’re getting sad over it.

Again, like I said, you should just be happy knowing that she’s content in wrestling independent shows and doing what she wants to do, that’s all. Ignorance is suggesting that performing infront of 100 people instead of 10,000 means your career is dead and you should just quit the biz, when it could very much be her own choice. Who knows, maybe WWE will hire her again, she’s still gawjuss.
