WWE Hall of Famer, Mae Young competed in a match tonight on Raw at the ripe old age of 87, claiming a victory over Lay-Cool with the help of the WWE Divas.
According to WWE’s Twitter, that makes Mae the first ever wrestler to compete in nine different decades: “That match makes Mae Young the first to wrestle in NINE different decades (1930s-2010s).” Mae debuted in 1939 thus competing in the 1930s, ’40s, ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, ’00s and ’10s.
Mae last competed in a WWE ring in 2008 during a 16-Diva tag match on the 800th episode of Raw when she was pinned by Beth Phoenix.

Good for Mae not only has she made history but has won what could quite possibly be her final wrestling match
So happy for Mae. That segment was done well and wasn’t a total waste just to have a laugh. They gave her respect with the video, tried to put some heat on LayCool, she got a little excited with the mouth, but in the end Natalya lead the girls to put a stop to Laycool and McCool took a hard shot to the barricade. Mae’s slap to Layla, was just as good as her slap to McCool last year. Good for Mae and the girls.
This was beyond awesome. I burst out laughing sooooooooooooooo hard when she said “I WANT A MATCH WITH THESE TWO SLUTS”

i agree, they segment, was done in a very classy way, and it was WWE giving Mae the respect she deserved with the video, and then the brawl was done very nice fully, i am so very happy for mae, and god bless, and i know Moolah is lookin down on her with a great big smile on her face :)
I loved it and i love how everyone was dreading that Mae would prevent a good divas segment/match to happen. She is so awesome and she is like the Betty White of WWE lol. Or more like Betty’s the Mae Young of pop culture.
She is so inocent that when i see her it makes me tear because she is 87 and let’s be honest not many live to be that old and i don’t see her lasting so long. It was great to see her slap the bull out of laycool and call them “sluts & bitches”.
Since when was Mae ever PG hahahaha.. oh the fond memory of (I think it was) Royal Rumble 2000 (maybe 1999?)

That was a good segment. It was comical and just crazy funny when she went off insulting them lol! It was also nice to see her get big ovations throughout the night. She’s awesome. Lol.

I loved it, Mae was brilliant. 87 and she’s still memorable, her promo was really good aswell Moolah was so sweet. I felt pretty flat when the other Divas walked out, I thought Natalya was Terri Runnels…

No records can be found from before that date, and she herself on Raw said she was 17 when she debuted, which would have been around 1941. People who have wrestling magazines from the 1950s also note that the stories written about here then always listed her debut date as 1941. She is still an amazing woman. “
