I really think Velvet worked this match to a tee. Like J.B Said, Credit where Credit is Due. I think Velvet deserves Credit for this, other than a wardrobe malfunction, I saw nothing wrong with this match. Tara didn’t “carry” Velvet. Velvet carried herself, and in my opinion, Quite well.

Wow I liked this match as much as their match in WWE back in ’05. For some reason she seemed to be a better wrestler then… Either way Velvet has improved and i can’t wait until she gets rid of her DDT finisher.

  3. This match was perfectly decent. There was nothing exitciting about it but then there was nothing good about it. But this wasnt in the spoilers, I think, so I was surprised to see when this match was posted.

wow Vel Vel looking smokin’ hot! but what new :) Tara’s lookin’ good herself!

Competitive match with great back and forth action. I like Velvet’s little storyline of being on a mission to become a better singles wrestler.

Side Note: Did you guys know the ref is Eric Bischoff’s son, Garret Bischoff?

I saw it earlier this morning.

Good match. Velvet did a very good job here and held her own against Tara. I loved her ring attire as well and I like that she has the curly hairstyle again. I also liked her post interview segment.

I’m glad their going to continue with Velvet’s story of proving herself. It’s also good that she will be on her own for singles matches but will still be apart of TBP with Angelina. Hopefully Velvet will get that “big” win I’m rooting for her even if no one else is.

It was revealed on PWInsider and other wrestling news websites.

@Zino I hear ya… I’m rooting for Velvet as well. Even though she’s not the best wrestler she still manages to come across as a great talent. Not everyone can do that.

This was a pretty good match, and Velvet should continue this improvement, as I know she is capable of being a great wrestler. And I loved her shorts! Reminds me of the foam middle finger signs in the Attitude Era.

i personally think that Vel-Vel would make a great Knockouts Champion. But hopefully she’ll have another tag reign now that she’s with Angelina again.

    Is Daffney still hurt ?

To be honest this is the best match those two are ever going to have. Top notch stuff.

Velvet seems more fluid in the ring as a face. More ring time in singles competition is going to help her considerably.

velvet needs a breat reduction those things are starting to look ridiculous

Great Match ! These of the kinds of Knockout’s Matches that need to be showcased on Impact and on PPV. I’m enjoying the slow singles build-up of Velvet Sky. What I think would be a great spin on this storyline is for Velvet to keep coming up just short on winning in singles matches, leading to her taking a 2-3 month in-ring hiatus from TNA television to train and refocus her career. During this time TNA would show some videos of Velvet training on their television shows. When Velvet does return she should have a new entrance theme of her own, new attire ( optional ), and an all new business like / serious in-ring attitude. Not necessarily return as a heel, but when that bell rings Velvet Sky is going to be focused on winning matches, not worrying about flirting / playing to the crowd. This is when TNA Creative pulls the trigger on Velvet Sky by booking her to win matches decisively with her Skyliner Finisher ( using the DDT as the set up ) on Impact and on PPV, building her up as a Main Event Contender for the Knockout’s Title, culminating in her winning the Knockout’s Title on PPV.

I know a lot of you Diva Dirt readers don’t like or care for Velvet Sky and that’s fine cause everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. But I know if booked right Velvet Sky can be a Top Draw in the Knockout’s Division, a credible Women’s / Knockout’s Champion, attract more fans to TNA, therefore making more money for the company.

Hell the Beautiful People as a Tag Team should’ve already been booked / pushed to the moon by Dixie Carter and TNA Management ! Is anyone going to tell me that Velvet Sky and Angelina Love The Beautiful People couldn’t have already been a Household Name and Main Event Draw for TNA ? The proof has been in the pudding with the ratings that the Beautiful People have produced on Impact, not to mention that Love and Sky were getting cheered by the fans even when they were heels.

Velvet Sky can be a Superstar and a Main Event Player in TNA and the wrestling business in general if booked and pushed correctly. Any talent that is given an opportunity and used properly by Management can become a Superstar and Main Event Player. If the fans believe in a talent’s character and/or in-ring ability they will support that person, tune in each week on television to see her or him , buy their merchandise, maybe order a ppv or 2, bringing in money for the company, and when its time to negotiate a new contract that person can ask for a pay raise and stand a great chance in getting one.

The Pop Culture Princess Velvet Sky as the TNA Knockout’s Champion has a nice ring too it IMO. Holler !

@Laqisha Yes, Daffney is reported to still be dealing with some effects from her injury at the hands of Rosie Lottalove.

A decent match. Tara works so much better as a heel. She can carry matches so well that way and her strength over a lot of the other women brings good credibility to the table.

Velvet has been improving of late. I like this storyline of her trying to prove that she can make it in singles action. Her performance at BFG as well as the match with Sarita and this one too are promising steps in the right direction. Her limitations were highlighted as a heel, because the moveset is a lot less flashy than what a face can do (but her promo work was outstanding, don’t get me wrong). Angelina, being the stronger wrestler, seemed a lot better adapted to the heel phase. But this face turn of TBP has kind of helped Velvet along the way. If she can get more time with credible heels like Sarita and Tara, it will benefit her a lot.

It seems that quite a lot of people enjoyed this match for some reason..
I for one didn’t enjoy it..Very slow paced, boring and plain.Tara acted like a comedian again.Velvet wrestled like a rookie(seriously, how many years has she been in this business?Even rookies like Naomi,AJ and Aksana are better than her).Seriously,as much as people go around and brag about how better TNA KO matches is than WWE’s,I say no difference from typical divas matches.

  18. it was ok match i enjoy tara work shes so different & tna please dont joke her out thats why she left wwe…

  19. so the match worked nice… lol velvet? you want people to see the GOOD wrestler in yours? so stop wearing this shits.

Aww, Vel Vel got thrown to the Cougar. =(

A predictable result, it wasn’t a bad match, but there were a few areas of concern.

Tara’s taunting at the start of the match didn’t work, it looked forced and awkward, almost as if she were channelling Vickie Guerrero. I’ll admit the stumble from the ropes and Velvet’s reaction was funny, but that looked almost genuine. They need to keep Tara’s comedy role to that of the, for want of a better term, “straight woman” reacting to the clowning of other Knockouts.

I’m a bit worried about Velvet, she seemed rather hesitant in some phases of the match, we see gilmpses of genuine talent from her but it’s like a lack of confidence keeps reining it in to the point where some moves simply don’t connect. Another concern is repetition, how many times does Velvet need to repeat a move? It got to the point where I was counting off a predictable three and I was thinking, “c’mon girl mix it up a little”.

All that aside Velvet’s selling was top notch, I don’t think there’s a Knockout who sells a Widow’s Peak quite as well.

To those people who think Velvet can’t wrestle, I spit in your general direction. This match is proof that she can wrestle. And she is better than the NXT rookies.

  22. ^ she definitely can wrestle, although disregarding cookie, velvet probably is the weakest of the tna roster. i do find it odd how most people have been criticising velvet’s wrestling ability way more than usual the past week or two. it’s like, since lacey eft tna, people are looking for somebody else they can bitch about when it comes to their in-ring style.

speaking of lacey, val announced velvet as “one half of TBP”, i guess that means she’s just gone without no on-air reason, which is a shame.

the match itself, much like impact last night, was just an okay solid performance, by two, okay, solid performers. nothing special about it, but nothing worth nitpicking over, either. i did like the touch by the commentary on how velvet is trying to prove herself as a solo westler, while at the same time keeping TBP alive and well. i think it could do her good to step out of angelina’s shadow every now and then.

Velvet in the limelight… sigh /manlyswoon

  24. I like!
    Velvet looked great.

  25. DAFereldan91

    @ecwroh Yeah sure,Velvet can wrestle.Wrestle in a stiff,clueless and awkward way.
Better than NXT rookies?Well,at least AJ,Naomi and Aksana ain’t look THAT awkward in the ring. And how long has Talia in this business, huh?
