Former TNA Knockouts Champion, Taylor Wilde — real name Shantelle Malawski — revealed on Twitter today that she quit her role with the company.

Responding to a fan question about her absence from TNA television, Malawski simply replied: “I quit.”

Her tag team partner, Hamada, also opted to leave the company and was not released as first reported. Hamada went to Japan in October and opted not to return to TNA.

  1. Can’t say I’m not surprised.

  2. *Can’t say I’m surprised

    WOOPS

  3. I’m not surprised either, the fact that TNA choose to give her and Hamada the titles yet didn’t spend time at all putting them in story lines and matches just shows how much they cared about her.

I bet the tag titles have more of a role now that Angelina has them.

  4. Glad to hear they didn’t get released. Hope it all goes good for both women, talented and beautiful.

  5. :(
gonna miss how she threw herself into her moves-so good

remember how she made angelina’s first tile win possible (even though angelina was 99% unconcious)

    taylor-great worker-VERY sexy-she’ll be missed

  6. Blame TNA for doing such a great Female Wrestler so wrong

  7. i would too if my role was ruduced to one or two appearences a month if that i wonder why daffney still hanging around i guess because of her age tna is the only place for her at the point in her career just saying

  8. she did the right thing TNA lost some great women.

  9. “Blame TNA for doing such a great Female Wrestler so wrong”

You’re right Taylor had it TERRIBLE in TNA. She won the KO championship in her first few appearances in TNA, was 1/2 of the first ever TNA KO champions, and had tons of amazing matches throughout her time there. She had it rough!

True they could’ve used her more twords the end of her run w/ the company, but overall she had a really good run there. I think she simply just ran her course.

I wish her the best in whatever she does in the future. Probably my favorite match of her’s in TNA would have to me the mixed tag team monsters ball at Slammiversary ’09, Taylor and Daffney tore the house down and had a cool build up to that match.

  10. just shows how much TNA cares more about ex-wwe divas…. they prefer to give more time to them than build their own superstar… i think Angelina is the most succesful ko they had… IMO.. I dont really see how may think she is that good…

though I may not have been able to see a lot of matches of both Hamada and TAylor… Im sad about tna not having anything to give them

  11. I would of done the same thing if I were her. I wish her the best of luck :).

  12. i could see wwe bing interested in her there were upset that they dropped the ball and released both her and angelina when thy had them

if they hired her she could be a great asset to the divas division

  13. there were reports they were upset*

  14. Good for her. She was too talented to be wasted on the sidelines and it wasn’t like TNA was paying much more than the indys. It would be nice to see her return to SHIMMER.

  15. Taylor was my fav KO! It will not be the same without her even though I actually forgot her presence as she was pushed to the back.
I Hope WWE look into signing her, she has so much talent and there is a lot more from Taylor that can be shown!!

@fanboy, Taylor is a ex WWE Diva! she trained up in DSW with Angelina!

  16. liam actually if she was smart she should stay away from wwe as far as she could vince well do the same thing with her as he did with gail the indies is better for her or come back to tna when tna have their sense back.

  17. Taylor was the first womens wrestler I ever saw. Im really gonna miss her. She was one of the or the best wrestlers in TNA. TNA messed up here.

  18. Wait a minute, I just realize something. With all of the Knockouts that TNA lost this year. From Kong to Melissa to ODB to Hamada to Taylor and so on, if I am correct, all the KOs that left this year chose to leave/quit. If I am correct, Roxxi aka Nikki Roxx was the only Knockout that was actually release/fired. That sucks for her (Roxxi). Either way, with all of these KOs gone that leaves room for TNA to bring in new talent. Like Jen Blake, Christina Von Eerie, Serena Deeb, etc. Looking forward to it.

  19. I’m sorry to hear this. Taylor was my favorite Knockout. She accomplished a lot in TNA. beat awsome kong, first KO monsters ball, first intergender monsters ball, first match of 10 thousand tacks, first KO tag champs. She did a lot. Don’t anyone come on here and say that she was misused. I do think there was more to do with her. I wanted to see more from her. I wrote a 7 month title reign for her. Taylor will be missed.

  20. Im not surprised Taylor left they havent been using her! And it wasnt like she was injured or anything she was just in the back rotting away just like daffney , rosie , hamada , odb was…while TBP , Tara & Agelina was on Impact everyday. Even after Tara left Roxxie came back… Taylor hardley got any screen time. Besides her mini fued with Sarita…but oh well wish her the best of luck..I hope she continues to wrestle.

I woudnt be surprised if daffeny left too….

  21. I know if she goes to tna its likely she’ll turn into the next gail kim, but i think it will be good for her to showcase her talent to different people,

  22. Good for her, she was treaten like sh*t.

  23. I’m glad that some of the knockouts are smart, ever since tara & mickie joined the spotlight has revolved around them and now that winter is there you can minus the tag team titles. First, ODB then Hamada and now Taylor. Wouldn’t be surprised if Daffney wanted to quit. Sarita is being used, so she wouldn’t leave. That is one reason why i don’t want Gail in TNA. She’ll just push over Sarita. Gail should stay in the WWE for at least 2 more years.

I’m hoping taylor tried out for tough enough.

  24. Why on earth should Gail Kim stay in WWE for 2 more years? She hasn’t been used since she got there. I, for one, would like to see her get some ring time.

  25. @bxradimus

AT LEAST she got a push earlier this year. That’s something. Also you have to be patient. She’ll get her spotlight, look at Natalya.

  26. @bxradimus

The money is good. Work for a company which pays you good & don’t really have to put your body on the line. I’ll join if i got the offer too! LOL

  27. “Why on earth should Gail Kim stay in WWE for 2 more years?”

Because she’s making more with them than most women in TNA and the Indys. She might be squandered but at least she’s making a nice amount of money. With a wrestler’s shelf life, I don’t blame her.

  28. Im amazed Gail Kim still comes here she was being paid less than CUTE KIP! when she was the top ratings draw in the company but couldnt get a raise.

  29. Well Taylor good job.

  30. That’s the problem with still growing wrestling promotions like TNA. It will be a long time, if not forever until they can match the salaries given by WWE. Not to mention, as some have said, that WWE will pay you your contracted salary no matter how many times you appear.

TNA reportedly pays on a ‘per appearance’ basis, so no appearances for Taylor = no money. So as she has been barely used recently, and it doesn’t seem like she was ever going to be used for a while, it would make no sense for her to stay around TNA.

But as far as TNA misusing her, as people have said, she had a great push at the beginning of her tenure. Fact is, if it wasn’t for TNA, the majority of us wouldn’t know much about her, let alone seen her talent.

This could be really good for the Divas division if they sign Taylor though, since along with Awesome Kong and Gail Kim, we can probably see all of them pushed.

I can’t really blame TNA for how they’re treating their roster. Fact is, even though they get more airtime than the Divas per show, they only get one show, so maintaining a roster of any more than 8 is not really possible. Fact is they can’t keep everyone in the spotlight, and those who aren’t in the spotlight don’t really have any reason to stay unless they want to wait for another push. We can only hope that TNA can continue to expand and their payouts for their Knockouts are no longer as meager.

  31. It’s funny that most people only talk about the “pay check” that WWE offers. I don’t know about other people who are passionate about wrestling, but I’d rather be actually wrestling than wasting all of my talent away.

  32. :( how sad what is happening with TNA we want girls like Taylor and Hamada

well the only one that sucks is Miss.Tess. sorry but its reality i prefer some Daffney
    miss ya Taylor

  33. I’m with the people that hope WWE resigns her. She’s always been cute and if I’m not mistaken the implants only came after she was let go by WWE so she has more of a Diva look now. She started so young that she’s still in the age range they’re casting for and she’s as strong an in ring talent as you’ll find anywhere for her age (24?). If she’s not retiring altogether I hope they’ll give her a second look.

  34. @bxradimus how old are you, what financial commitments do you have, if you have a job what is the average career length and what level of risk does it have on your long term health?

  35. It sucks because she’s so talented and when she first came to TNA, she was pretty much the top face after Gail Kim. I’m not going to count on it but she deserves to go back to WWE because she’s exactly what they want in a diva.

Good luck to her wherever she goes :)

  36. It is a shame TNA wasted such a talanted performer. I hope Taylor goes somewhere else where she is appreciated. She deserves so much more then what TNA gave her

And for some people commenting on Gail Kim. She is doing what she has to do to make a living for herself. It is called a job for a reason. I don’t like how she is used, but I can’t change that. If she is happy, good for her.
