Cast your minds back to last June when it was announced that Kaval would have Lay-Cool as his pros on NXT. The Internet furore over the pairing, considered by fans to be a ‘rib’ on the former independent star, was deafening.
In the end, Lay-Cool and Kaval proved to be a winning formula as he won season two of NXT and the trio had many a memorable moment.
Now gone from the company, having requested his release before Christmas, Kaval has gone on record revealing his feelings about the pairing and what it was like working with the ‘flawless’ duo.
Speaking to SLAM! Sports, he said:
“A lot of people took exception to it, I guess ,because how over the top their personalities are, but I didn’t think anything of it. Again I saw it as a challenge, how I was going to adapt to this situation, how I was going to make the best of it.
“I got along great with those two women. The biggest effect they had on me was relaxing me, up until that point I had been more of a fighter, more sports orientated less entertainment based,” he said. “I think that because their personalities were so over the top it actually relaxed me and they had me laughing a whole bunch, during the entire time we worked together.”
