Vickie & Eddie Guerrero’s Daughter Given New Screen Name

Shaul Guerrero, the daughter of Vickie and Eddie Guerrero, is now going by the name of Raquel Diaz in FCW, reports LordsofPain.net.

Shaul signed with WWE back in October and has been training at the Tampa-based developmental territory since.

Shaul Guerrero, daughter of Vickie & Eddy Guerrero, was introduced as ‘Raquel Diaz’ in an interview segment with Caylee Turner. Despite the new name, her 3rd generation lineage was being discussed, the segment was interrupted by NXT season 3 diva A.J., who loudly repeated “EXCUSE ME”, then told Diaz it didn’t matter if her name was Raquel Diaz, Carmen Sandiego, or Chiquita Banana… Everybody knows the only reason made it there was because of her family. The two exchanged words as the interview ended.

So she’s going to be a face in FCW it looks like, while her mom’s one of the most over heels (if not THE most over) on Smackdown…

wow they are moving her traight into a program with AJ that can be huge for her. i wonder if that means that hes picking the wrestling up fast

Nice to see Shaul used, but I still think a fued with AJ is still a little too soon. But mind you if this fued will drag on for awhile and have Shaul get used to FCW and being a face, it should all work out in the end, as long as she doesn’t win the title too quickly. This may also help AJ solidify her place as the top heel in FCW as well.

But whatever happens, she WILL be a Guerrero on main WWE TV she has to be. Mind you Joe Hennig is Michael McGullicutty so… fingers crossed? =-\

Sounds awesome. Can’t wait to see it. I hope Shaul is good in the ring or at least be able to improve. We see some girls that just can’t I hope Shaul isn’t one of them.

Sometimes it’s best to change their legendary last name so that people don’t put a bunch of pressure on them.

There are instances where you want to change the name. This isn’t one of those instances. The name is hallowed and would be very effective at getting the talent over. Especially if we’re talking a face, of course it’s not instant, look at Nattie Neidhart. Still, in the mid-to-long-term, it’s a no-brainer.

I agree with Rhawk, you just have to cross your fingers and pray that it’s a DiBiase Jr. Rub instead of a McGillicutty Moment. WWE knows full well the power of these legacy names because nearly anything that helps add buzz to a performer is a good thing. Let’s hope she is a Guerrero upon debut in the E, just don’t hold your breath.

@Macho Madness i was thinking the same thing nattie was herself in FCW cuz she was alreadt established and pressure wouldnt get to her but Shaul is young and super green they dont want to burn her out with pressure too fast

This is unbelievable to me … she is the FIRST female Guerrero in professional wrestling, and that in itself is historic. I wish WWE would work with her and work with her and groom her into becoming some amazing. DON’T CHANGE HER NAME, SHE IS A GUERRERO!

Hmm not gonna waste my time on her new on-screen name.. They will propably change her name again or so the day debuts on either Raw or SD.. The segment itself seem interesting 2 me.. Im looking forward to it!

i think shaul will use guerrero as her last name when she gets to the main roster. if they’re putting her as a face then they will probably focus her as eddie’s daughter than vickie’s

This is like Joe Hennig as Michael McGillicutty, which makes no sense because they acknowledged that he was a 3rd gen worker, but was using his mother’s maiden name. Where’s the explanation to Shaul using Raquel Diaz as her name cause I sure can’t see it.

^same with tamina, too. it’s very odd as the name alone would get people interested. i guess it has something to do with wwe wanting to *own* the wrestlers and they can’t really own their real names.

But Tamina is not like Tamina and a different last name other than Snuka, it’s just “Tamina” this is more Michael McGullicutty level but I don’t think there’s an explanation behind the name Raquel Diaz
