Fresh off of her WrestleMania win last night, seven time WWE Women’s Champion, Trish Stratus teamed up with John Morrison once again to face off against Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler this week on Raw. Can the ‘Diva of the Decade’ and ‘The Shaman of Sexy’ pull out another win? Check out the match below:
The segment starts off with Vickie and Dolph coming down to the ring and pinning the blame for their loss at WrestleMania on Lay-Cool and challenges Trish and John Morrison to a mixed tag match. Never ones to pass up a challenge, Trish and JoMo accept (after a short commercial break).
John Morrison and start the match off, and after a bit of back and forth, Morrison gets the upperhand, sending Dolph scrambling to his corner to tag in Vickie. In an attempt to mock Snooki’s back handspring at WrestleMania, Vickie tries her best to hit a cartwheel. Vickie celebrates her acrobatic feat, but takes her eye off of Trish and get rolled up for a nearfall.
Frustrated, Vickie charges at Trish with a clothesline, but Trish evades with the Ma-Trish, followed by another rollup for a nearfall. Not happy with the way the match is going, Vickie gets in Trish’s face and piefaces her. Vickie seems pretty proud of herself until Trish lays into her with a few chops to the chest. Before Trish can follow up, Dolph jumps in the ring and distracts her, allowing Vickie to take control of the match.
Vickie slams Trish around the ring by the hair few times and goes for the pin, but only gets a two count. Vickie tries to finish Trish off with a leg drop, but Trish rolls out of the way and tags in JoMo. After some more action between the guys, Trish rushes the ring to break up a pin and gets cornered by Dolph Ziggler. Trish fights her way out with a slap, allowing Morrison to hits his signature flying kick, followed by Starship Pain, to pick up the win for his team.
A decent match, in my opinion, but as with most matches involving Vickie, there was a lot of fluff. That said, it was a nice follow-up to the WrestleMania and it neatly tied up all the loose ends. With the match out of the way, let’s talk about what wasn’t on the show: The rest of the Divas.
I would think with WrestleMania over and done with, WWE would want to start building up some sort of storyline revolving around the Divas Title. I mean, they don’t even have a #1 contender. On the other hand, with the WWE Draft right around the corner, WWE might be reluctant to start up any new storylines just yet. In any case, let’s just hope we get to see some more action from the Divas on next week’s edition of Raw.

I’m really tired of Trish Stratus. I get it, she’s back because of Tough Enough. But can we focus on the current divas please? Just like with this The Rock/Cena stuff, I get it some people really want to see them go at it but can we focus on the current Superstars. Please and Thank you. (What I wrote in the post RAW section)

I actually didnt mind not seeing the rest of the divas. Its not like if they did have a match it would have been they would have had enough time. They would have been shoved right b4 The Rock & Cena’s segment given 3 minutes…. We would have just been complaining abt them not getting enough time and why Eve is so boring and in the ring & why she is till champ etc….There isnt a #1 Contender to the Divas Championship , because Kong hasnt debut yet.
Happy to see Trish though who knows when we may see her on raw again.

I guess Trish doesn’t remember getting kidnapped by JoMo and him almost trying to cost her the Women’s Championship with an attempted Snapshot? XD

I love Trish to death but it is time for her to step aside and train the girls on tough enough and get out of this lame storyline with Vikki.

I think if WWE wants to keep using Trish in matches they should team her with another diva so another diva can be able to shine. Natalya would be my first pick to team with her. :)

I don’t understand why everyone is so caught up on not seeing the current Divas. This is Mania follow up and none of the girls were on the card other than LayCool. Let’s face it, them not being on didn’t hurt the show simply because there is nothing really going on with them right now. The Bellas storyline seems to be over, Eve isn’t feuding with anyone and Gail Kim and Melina have been keeping Superstars busy for the past few weeks. The WWE has failed to make anything substainal happen with the girls as of late so I’m not really sad about not seeing them used on TV.

I enjoy seeing Trish. I always have. Its just like when a diva I like is in the title picture. You see them every week (or most of the time). At least we’re not in that period where a new feud was presented every month. Anyway I liked Raw. We haven’t seen the divas in a while so if we were gonna have a crappy 2 minute tag match, why bother? Cuz with the draft you know they aren’t gonna pull out a storyline. Well they could’ve the Draft would’ve cut the feud short for them.

zZz what was the surprise Trish was meant to have for us? I was hoping for Kong, and ended up getting nothing. :(
Average match, really sick of seeing Vickie in the ring though. Keep her as manager or whatever, but don’t use her in the ring all the time. She = entertainment, but not wrestling (which of course is the trend of WWE these days). Trish basically got to do nothing but sell for Vickie.
Anyway, this assumedly was just a Wrestlemania fallout match, so probably won’t be seeing Trish for a while unless there is something else planned for her to be in. To be honest though, if she has been back this long, she may as well stay for 6 months or so, especially if it can be used to boost the other Divas.
Don’t know why they can’t at least give the Divas some backstage segments if they don’t get a match though. Then at least they could build in some storyline for the occasional time they actually get a match.

Please hang around for a bit, Trish, oh how I’ve missed you… now all you need to do is bring Stacy Keibler back and I’m set.

The match was really fun. Vickie was hilarious.
I propose a Trish/Morrison/Melina love triangle storyline btw.

I love Trish and I love seeing her on RAW. I think that with the WM match, this is their way of bringing “closure” or “tying loose ends” as you put it. I cant wait to see what’s in store next week. :)

I would have liked seeing Vickie spend a couple weeks tricking Morrison into taking on Laycool and Zigler with her new friend heel Trish – more in keeping with her new role – and crazy Melina as his partners. Snookie could manage if she just had to be there. Team Morrison would win when Melina either ends up helping him at the last minute or she and Trish put aside there differences because they hate Laycool even more than each other.
