Several Divas, past and present, paid tribute to outgoing Diva, Michelle McCool, on Twitter today.
Michelle’s LayCool BFF, Layla, toasted her opponent last night by saying: “That was the hardest thing I ever had 2 do @McCoolMichelleL I will always have respect, gratitude & love for U! Our memories will stay with me forever. Flawless love ya.”
Natalya tweeted: “Wishing @McCoolMichelleL happiness- but I hate goodbyes. At Hotel California, you can check out anytime you want but you can never leave!”
Diva legend, Trish Stratus, added: “Wanna wish @McCoolMichelleL all the best-congrats on an amazing career-welcome 2 the other side! Honored we got a chance to work together.”
Torrie Wilson tweeted: “So proud of how far my buddy @McCoolMichelleL has come in the WWE! Girl, Im ready to take a lil girls trip w/u now! AFTER u r rested up!”
And finally, TNA Knockout, Tara tweeted: “This is first WWE pay per view I’ve watched since I left. Just to see @mccoolmichelleL wrestle. I love you siz!!! Thanks for the memories.”
Elsewhere, Jim Ross discussed Michelle and the debuting Kharma on his blog:
Sorry to see Michelle McCool leave WWE. She’s an example of what intelligently approaching ones craft will do for you. Michelle evolved into a skilled performer via hard work. Perhaps I’ll see her when her alma mater, Florida State University, hosts Oklahoma in college football this September. Michelle is a gifted athlete and will be missed.
Enjoyed Kharma’s debut at Extreme Rules. She can potentially be a huge attraction for WWE. She’s different and special. Curious to see where she goes from here. I personally expect great things from her.
If you notice anymore Twitter tributes from other Divas, do share in the comments!

So I guess that Tamina or Alicia Fox going to be the top heel in SD.
VicTara said that she watched her first ppv since leaving in order to see Michelle. A TNA employee admiting that is quite a tribute, in my opinion.
i agree with Ross, Kharma could be a good attraction for WWE and also its so sad to see Michelle leave and all that :), but hopefully these does open the doors for someone like tamina or alicia to shine as a heel
It well definitely different with michelle gone. ps. @ OhSoPrettyDiva when you go to change your gravatar you set the pic you want to use as rated G
ooppsies discard my p.s.
Is Kharma going to be on Raw and Smackdown then? Notice how Divas from both brands watched her debut, and obviously she attacked McCool. Don’t know how it’s going to play out exactly. But it’s amazing to have a serious monster gimmick in the Divas again (Beth was always too pretty to be a ‘monster’, no disrespect to Kong). Suppose at this point they’re going the Divas vs Kharma direction, but it should all be made clear on Raw, hopefully with a Divas segment of record breaking duration (at least in the last few years).
Unfortunately we’re probably just going to get Cena.
Very classy comments by Tara as well, just showing once again how genuine and kind she is.
Trish Retired after 7 years of wrestling , Michelle after 6 years. Everyone goes through it its hard on them just as it is hard on the fans. Michelle will always go down in my books as one of the divas who made a impact here in wwe. Love or Hate her your gonna respect her….
It’s pretty sad to see Michelle go. She had an amazing career in the WWE and she should be proud. She left while she was still on top, perfect way to go. It’s going to be weird without her.
Sidenote..did anyone notice that all the diva’s in the locker room segment were face divas expect for Alicia. Could Alicia be turning face? Eve wasn’t there either..possible Eve heel turn?
How bout her trending for a little over an hour I believe it was. She continued to trend during the Osama news although it was for maybe 10 minutes in that she fell of TT. She truly will be missed.
michelle is a darling backstage, people like her and praise her. nice to see these kind of touching words by these divas. michelle will definatly be missed.
Said it before and I’ll say it again, I will miss Michelle McCool, she did work hard from being just a diva search girl to top heel, amazing career, despite it’s controversy.
As for Kharma, she will make an impact (no pun intended) in the Divas Division, hopefully her being here means longer matches because Kharma is very vocal, surely she would say something about it don’t you think?
I noticed Beth Phoenix and Natalya were missing from that line up of Divas backstage, could be the ones to stop Kharmas reign of terror but don’t know till we watch
Im surprised Gail Kim was there, knowing her history (which I can understand from a business point of view as to why they won’t do it)
@ItsRayVolution, I believe Beth and Natalya WERE there, the ones I saw there were Alicia, Rosa, Tamina, Beth Phoenix, Natalya and Kelly Kelly (with the aforementioned Gail Kim of course)
Jillianhall1 tweeted:
Congrats @McCoolMichelleL !!! Didn’t see it but heard it was great :)
I liked Trish’s, Torrie’s, and Tara’s tweets the best, but they’re all nice
Will miss you chelle she seems like such a nice person i hope gail fueds with kharma
Kharam will be the third woman to step in the Royal Rumbel 2012!!!
And for Michelle I wasn’t her biggest fan but I wish her the best.
bill demott also tweeted michelle.
I won’t miss Michelle in the divas division BUT she I will not discredit her. She went from NO wrestling experience to pretty much one of the better workers of the current division. I wish her well and the best in her future endeavours but she won’t be missed by me.
@Laquisha:
WWE would be stupid not to put kHARMa in the 2012 Rumble.
I have doubts that Kharma and Gail’s history will be mentioned, or that they will have an encounter as memorable as their last. WWE wouldn’t want to risk TNA chants now, would they? I didn’t like how there was no close up of Gail’s face last night. That would have been a funny teaser.
Tara or victoria what ever u call her watched a wwe ppv is showing real friendship and gratitude. Again another reason i live Tara. But all those women and good ol’ JR r right she was good and will b missed !
Anthony- Actually, all the divas that were in that segment were now current Smackdown divas, So Kharma could be headed to Smackdown
Loved all there tweets! gonna mis michelle tough! wish her the best of luck! :)
@G32106..Not all of them were Beth, Gail, and Kelly were there too.
With Michelle’s “Influence” and “Takers” help…McCool managed to create a Divas Division for Smackdown giving the girls PURPOSE to be there and not just do Ballon fights and Bikini contests..just saying, the hate they had for her. But well thats past No negativity
I really compare Michelle as the greats of THIS generation..
No one in this generation is really a draw unfortunatly but all the girls the current roster divas who have worked hard n are gone, Mickie James, Maria Candice, and i even give props to Tiffany…they all worked hard and got my respect
And I say Michelle is one of the best! Not same level as Lita or Trish, Chyna or Sable, but a DIFFRENT level one even Lita or Trish arent in. Where Beth Nattie Gail and the rest have a spot
Wesley, I respect your opinions, but sadly, I think those comparisons are utterly ridiculous.
Lita and Trish are like the untouchables
then there’s everyone else. I don’t take anything away from McCool. Truth be told, she was made out to be more than she really was in most cases, but I wont deny her hard work and her being intsrumental in keeping a drowning division afloat.
I wonder who will be victim number one tonight? Maybe Eve or one of the Bella’s
Yes it was very sad I started crying as soon as i saw her going down the rampway because I knew how it was gonna end.But here is something you have to remember yes Michelle had to leave WWE very sad but the word retiring has never been mentioned and she is out of the WWE because her hubby Taker needs her while he recovers from injuries with Michelle there it helps him get better sooner which means the sooner Michelle can return to WWE when Taker is ok to wrestle she will return the time away from WWE also gives Michelle time to rest up and be 100 percent herself when she returns we have not seen the last of Michelle Mccool
