Madison Rayne vs Tara Announced for July 14th Impact

Former allies Madison Rayne and Tara will finally meet in the ring on July 14th, it was announced on Impact Wrestling tonight.

In a special episode of Impact, the former Knockouts Champions will square off after months of animosity stemming from Madison’s mistreatment of Tara.

Last year, Madison brought Tara ‘out of retirement’, in storyline, as her personal ally and problem solver. However, the relationship disintegrated earlier this year with Tara helping Mickie win a match at Sacrifice that ensured Tara’s freedom from Rayne.

Who do you think will win this big match?

It’s a pity they delayed this, but I hope they air a promo chronicling their relationship breakdown. They built up a nice story and left many wanting Tara to slap the holy hell out of Madison.

it feels a bit premature to announce it, yet at the same it is great that they are hyping a knockouts match.

i don’t really care who wins the match that much, unfortunately i’ve been a bit bored with both madison and tara of late.. well, not bored, i just haven’t missed them being on screen the last couple weeks! ideally, madison winning would be the best result as it would leave the feud ongoing – can’t really see either of them doing anything else due to the other ongoing ko feuds.

probably not while she’s with tna.. can’t remember where it was said or who said it but apparently tna were asking shimmer for way too much money to be allowed to use madison, sarita, etc.

It’s fairly acceptable for a promotion like TNA to protect their contract talent by giving their hiring rates a premium price over indy wrestlers. If indy promotions aren’t prepared to pay the prices asked for, then no one is forcing them to hire anyone. Instead, more opportunities are opened up for newer indy talent to get a booking, and not for TNA wrestlers to dominate the indies to the extent where no rookies have a chance of getting booked.

The only real issue is if the prices are so high, that the TNA talent doesn’t get hired at all, but as it would appear, none of the talent who want to work in other promotions have trouble getting booked.

Unfortunately Tara’s character and wrestling is beginning to stagnate — and that pains me to say such a thing as I love her to bits. The wiser outcome would be for Madison to retain credibility as the killer queen bitch, since she has more potential to progress in her career.

Is Madison Rayne’s character based on Bloody Mary because back in those times I heard that when Mary rose to power in England it kind of turned her into a psycho bitch?

Possibly it could be true Because Roxxi’s Voodoo character was based on a Voodoo preistess who lived in Louisiana during 1920′s her name was Marie Laveuaxe.

Tara will win. With her new finisher or maybe with Widow’s Peak

ooh, i completely forgot about that spinebuster move she did on rosita! loved it, haven’t seen the widow’s peak in ages, though.. wonder if she struggles doing it since her arm injury or something??

Tara pinned Rosita with what she calls a TaraBomb. Tara tweeted that it was a new move, but her widow’s peak is her finisher. She peaked Winter at a house show last week in NY, so her arm is good to go.

Wrestling 101 dictates that Tara will win because the last time her and Madison had a match one-on-one, Madison won. However, this could be the night that Isis makes her debut, costs Tara the match and then you see those two face off at the Hardcore Justice ppv.

I think Tara and Madison have lost a lot of momentum since Sacrifice, but I think it should be pretty easy for them to pick it backup again leading into this match. They have a great personal chemistry, and I remember their last matches against each other were good.

I’d actually like to see them feud for a while (beyond this match) because their storyline has already been built quite extensively, so their conflict is very highly anticipated (at least for me).

I think a lot of people will want to see Tara redeem herself against Madison, but Madison’s the one who needs the rub from Tara, and going over Tara will help her career much more. So it’s going to be quite unpredictable what happens. Personally I can’t wait for them to start going at it!

Also their backstage promo last Impact was awesome!

Tara gave her the rub at last year’s Sacrifice.

        June 24, 2011 at 5:06 pm

…at it worked. Madison became the longest reigning KO champ, and her heel character was much elevated.

        June 24, 2011 at 5:24 pm

Oh, I forgot that Tara already did that for her, although Madison still needs to build back her credibility as a dominating force in the Knockouts division. I guess as long as they get a good feud then they can both come out very strong from it, no matter who goes over. Not to mention it will keep them out of the title picture that they were both dominating last year while they build themselves back up again.

I suppose you get problems like this when most of your talent is ‘over’, but I keep hearing people criticise Madison’s wrestling ability, so if they could do a good series of matches, maybe she could finally silence these critics. I’d love to see the feud culminate at Hardcore Justice.

Whatever the outcome between those two, I would love to see a Tara/Jacqueline feud.
