Former Divas Champion, Brie Bella, gave an in-character interview to Pro Wrestling Illustrated about her Divas Championship while still holding the belt. Brie has obviously since lost the belt to Kelly Kelly.
In the interview, Brie plays up her heel character, deflecting questions and threatening to cut the interview short due to questions about her sister, Nikki, saying the interviewers were trying to stir up trouble between the two.
When asked if it was weird to be doing an interview without Nikki, Brie responded: “No, it doesn’t feel strange at all. We have lives that are separate from each other, both personally and professionally. It’s not like I need Nikki by my side 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
“Why would it feel strange for the WWE Divas Champion to do her own interview?” she continues. “To me, it would be weirder if you had asked to talk to Nikki, too. Honestly, if you had asked us both, I would have said no.”
When asked if Nikki was a better solo wrestler than her, Brie said: “Ugh, another Nikki question. Look, I’ve got the title, and that says it all. Whoever holds the Divas Championship is the top woman in this business.”
Brie is then asked how she’d feel if Nikki had won the belt before her. She says: “The reality is that you are talking to me right now, and not Nikki, because I am the champion. If she someday wins the belt — and I think she eventually can — she’ll have the chance to honestly say that she’s the best in the world.”

Thoughts: The whole interview was in character which is cheesy, in my opinion, in this day and age. I would legitimately like to hear the Bellas’ opinion on who they feel is the better worker. Perhaps one day.

Aren’t the kayfabe parts of these magazines, like this interview with Brie and articles that treat an angle like it’s real, just made up? I remember they used to do this thing in Inside Wrestling where they would print the transcript of a phone conversation the magazine set up between two feuding wrestlers, and in a shoot interview with RF Video, Rob Van Dam said the one they did with him and Tommy Dreamer was just completely made up. I’ve always been under the impression that the only real interviews in these mags are the out-of-character ones.
PWI better rank Mercedec Martinez as the #1 female wrestler of 2011 or I’mma snap.
nikki is usually the one that handle stuff and always protect her sister brie so i guess she felt it wudnt be fair for her to hold it and rather her sister… i met them in real life and talked to them for quite awhile since we were both stuck in Italy,,, so yea.. if u know what i mean
Comparing which Bella Twin is the better wrestler is like comparing “Epic Movie” to “Disaster Movie” on which film is better.

I’ve always seen Nikki as the better wrestler.. Not to mention, she doesn’t sound as forced as her sister Brie on the mic

lmao very true!
Nikkie was the first to turn heel..I was really impressed with her in NXT and this one time against Michelle McCool last year made me really proud of all the divas without Beth Melina Gail Kim or Natalya in the match…except maryse she just did the DDT to win haha…smh
But Nikkie pulled on a hell of a match with AJ Lee
IDK why they didnt do Co-Champs like laycool did
I would like label Nikki as better wrestler then Brie. we also can see in any game of WWE, Nikki was given more percent of skill then Brie. Nikki also agresif then Brie in the ring even in the mic =) my opinion only~~
i agree with Wesley: why don’t they be are Co-Divas Champion since both of them were Twins sister =D
Nikki IMO Is the better ,wrestler ,better entertainer and better on the mic . Like
wesly said the match that nikki had with AJ on NXT was Really Good.
I think that Nikki is the better wrestler and a more believable champ than Brie. I think that with certain people Nikki can put on a good match.
