This past week flew by, didn’t it? Or am I imagining things again? Who knows. Hope everyone had a happy 4th of July weekend. I enjoyed my three days off. Anyway, last week, we got a full showing from pretty much all the Knockouts in a six Knockout elimination style tag match. But this week, we’re focusing on just a few. In recent weeks, a pair of roughneck has-beens have been terrorizing the Impact Zone, with one Knockout in particular in their crossheirs. This week, however, that Knockout has a shot at vengeance. Even if the odds aren’t in her favor, she still has a hell of a lot to prove and with the strong stipulation on the line, you had better believe they do too. Will the two “old bitties” get booted out of Impact Wrestling for good or will they live to terrorize another day? Only one way to find out. Just keep on, keepin’ on.

Backstage, Velvet Sky is fired up for her match this evening, even if it is for….a handicap match. I wouldn’t be all that excited about it but hey, to each her own. Regardless, she seems ready and I can’t completely blame her. She has been the target of her opponents for weeks and this gives her a chance to finally get her retribution. She says that tonight’s match means everything in the world to her. Gone are the days that she is the target for every Knockout that has an issue. She’s not taking shit from anyone anymore and even if she sounds like a total bitch, she tells us that we can add smarts to the list, as well as being beautiful. Those two idiots signed up for this stipulation that if they lose, they’re gone forever. Oh so very true.

But whatever the case, Velvet is going to cleanse Impact Wrestling once again. This time, it is going to be two ugly hogs at a time. BAM!

Out first, from the side and with no music at all, come the team of ODB and Jacqueline. ODB tells us all that they’re not going anywhere but I have a hunch that they just might. Next to the ring is the last standing Beautiful People member..or at least, it’s her music. It seems a little more stalled than usual so ODB takes it upon herself to wipe down the middle rope, step over it and begin humping. She wiggles her ass and points at it, mocking Velvet and taunting the crowd. Meanwhile, Velvet Sky runs out from the back with a steel chair in hand and nails Jackie from behind. Then she kindly asks ODB if she wants some too, slamming the top into her midsection. Well, at least she included her in the festivities.

Velvet, ever so rambunctious, tosses the chair down and gets in the ring, demanding the official to ring the bell. She starts in on ODB, slamming her into the corner and taking her to the other side, chest chopping her against the ropes. Give it a rebound and ODB bounces off, getting a nice running clothesline takedown from Vel Vel. She is on it, you have to give her that. Back into the corner and Velvet lays the boots to one of her opponents, working her around the ring. She looks like she’s actually having fun and well, I would be too. She works each corner and is just taking it to ODB. Back and forth body shots, charging clotheslines and finally, a running faceplant out of the corner. Velvet is hyped up and it almost looks like she could take this match early on. But, naturally, Jackie has other plans as she comes in from the outside.

A shot to the head from behind and the crowd is just not happy. But Jackie doesn’t care and she goes back after Velvet, tossing her across the mat by her hair. Fierce and full of attitude, no matter her size, Jackie has always been one tough bitch. She smirks at her antics and picks Velvet up, going tough with those left hands. She sents her into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Velvet ducks, coming back with one of her own. A pickup slam and we have our first pin attempt of the night but ODB flies across the ring and tackles Velvet like she’s in a game of football. What the hell was that?!

ODB picks Velvet up by her throat and tosses her into the corner but misses the knee, slamming it right into the turnbuckle when Velvet ducks away. This gives Velvet a chance to fight back, working ODB in the corner again. But the numbers game comes into play and Jackie comes from behind, knocking the blonde down to the mat. She works her across the ring and we’re reminded how tough Jackie is with Taz remembering when she used to beat the asses of many men, back in the day. Oh we know, Taz. We know.

Multiple left hands to Velvet and ODB is back on the apron, only to get a tag back into the match. She takes Velvet back to familiar territory against the turnbuckles, giving her a chest pop of her own with a forearm. She slaps her around and Velvet tries to fight back but it’s no good. ODB muscles her over to Jackie, tagging in the fresh body for a double team. They look to go for either a suplex or a flapjack but Velvet surprises them with a kick to ODB, taking Jackie down with a clothesline. Not bad for someone who is looked at as the weak link, hmm? She even rolls out of the way when ODB goes for an elbow drop, jerking up that funny bone.

I’m pretty sure that Taz just called Jackie….Yackie. Did anyone else hear that? Haha.

All three women are slowly up at the same time but Velvet is the first to throw an arm. Back and forth between her opponents, trying to build that momentum back up but she gets shut down like a bankrupt convenient store. Jacqueline stays on her, holding her arms while ODB goes to the outside for that chair we saw earlier. She goes for the swing, in spite of the referee and Velvet moves out of the way. WHACK! ODB drops that chair right across the skull of her partner, knocking Jackie down. She can’t believe it and frankly, I’m laughing my ass off. And so is Velvet but she takes advantage of the situation, kicking ODB to the outside. Jackie staggers to her feet but Velvet grabs her and nails her with that spike DDT. Straight into the cover and Velvet has done it! She snags the three count and boots those two ugly hogs right out of Impact Wrestling for good! She wastes no time in motioning for them to get the eff out but ODB, never one to take kindly to being overdone, tells her she ain’t gettin’ rid of her. She slaps her crotch and tells her to kiss it. Oh so classy, B. I mean, really.

Either way, Velvet has proven herself in this handicap match so kiss that. BAM!

Thoughts: Great showing from the Knockouts involved this week. Even if the match was only about 5 and a half minutes long, it was very consistent and I watched it all the way through without getting sleepy. That doesn’t always happen, as you well know. I think it plays into the “victim coming back strong” plot but regardless of storyline, Velvet really showed how far she’s coming in the ring this week. I don’t care what anyone else says. I haven’t always been a Velvet fan but in the last year or so, she’s grown on me. She’s really honed her craft between the ropes and I can respect that. I doubt this is the last we see of ODB, but I can’t say for sure that Jackie is going to be permanent. I can see her taking the high road on this one. ODB, however, doesn’t even know how to get there. Next week, we’ve got another major match coming up between two rivals and I’m excited for it so until that time next week, my lovies! xoxo

What did you guys think about this week’s Impact? Tell me about it!

  1. decent match yes despite what some says velvet has improved. this was my second favorite mainstream women match this week.

  2. I wanted ODB and Jackie to win! :(

  3. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Velvet is gaining my love each and every week. I wonder what’s next for her though ? I do hope Jacqueline comes back though , I dont to care if ODB comes back TBH! If Jacqueline comes back which I hope she does , I hope we see Jackie vs Mickie , or Jackie vs Victara p2….. Birng it Bitches!!! LOL

  4. Awesome Match !!!! Good Job Vel Vel ,shes really growing on me & I think this will be the year of velvet ,and by the looks of it, it looks like it will be .I think she will become knockouts champ by the end of this year or the begining of 2012. I really hope jackie comes back ,I wanna see Jackie vs Mickie feud ! Ouftt Talk about epic ! And tara vs Jackie or jackie vs Angelina Oh man !! But as far as ODB goes ,I really dont care what happens to her loll So kiss this !!! BAAAMM ! Lmfaoo .

  5. velvet really showed nothing special..just repeat of clothesline & chops plus a bulldog shes the kelly of impact wrestling..Jackie still looks amazing in great shape & she took the chairshoot like pro..

  6. The thing about the stipulation is that ODB and Jacqueline aren’t Impact employees, so they don’t have to follow the stipulation. They can do whatever they want no matter if the outcome is against them. I hope Impact does this and we see ODB and Jacqueline next week.

The only thing that would make this feud perfect is if Impact brings the return of Roxxi. If there’s anybody whose got beef that’s been wrongly released from Impact it’s her. With them together they could form a stable called Scorned.

And Alissa Flash… God knows how TNA used that woman.

    Looking Glass Reply:

Alissa Flash has no recognition in TNA, yes she’s great and all and I’m a fan, but she had about 8 matches in total, no storyline and of those 8 matches she won about 2. Roxxi has the crowd behind, she’s seen as an original and she’s had her fair share of storyline, plus her previous storylines could tie in with ODB’s and Jacqueline’s.

  7. Awesome Impact this week, I hope next’s weeks impact is off the charts

  8. Jackie botched move after move… please stay away from TNA Jackie…

I like ODB though, she’s got great charisma.

    But of course… Velvet’s my girl :)

    Lily Reply:

    LOL yeah right ….

    NaomiNightfan2011 Reply:

I never saw Jacqueline botch any moves. Sure she may not have performed as well as how she did when she used to be in the WWE, but she didn’t do so bad for someone with a 2 year absence from wrestling

    I smell a HATER. ^o^

Jackie botched? I doubt we’re watching the same match buddy.

  9. I give props to Velvet.Although she got beat up most of the match she came out the winner. And she did it all by her self. You go girl!

  10. Decent match, you gotta wonder if odb and jackie will really stay away from tna. i thought the match had some akward moments, the ending with the chair as an example. Hopefully Jackie’s gonna return, I’m not really interested in odb anymore probably since last year. Can’t wait for next week Madison/Tara <3

  11. this weeks impact will be madison rayne vs. tara (remember people, july 14th is their match date)

anyway, the match was okay, nothing really note worthy. I wish jackie would stay, and I like ODB way better as a babyface, as a heel she just screams and it hurts my head

  12. look at the bright side, if ODB and jackie do leave, that opens up 2 knockout roster spots for maybe some new talent? you know that ones that had tryouts

    JJ Reply:

That’s a good point I hadn’t thought of it that way. They do need some new meat to spice things up in the knockout’s division.

  13. I did not like this match…it was 2 slow and boring and they kept doing the samemoves over and over ! Velvet smashes ODB face into the turnbuckle and slaps her across the chest. She dah 2 do this atleast 10 times. I found myself sleeping through this match…which i usually dont.

  14. well i can see odb use the i didn’t get pinned so i should be allowed back routine

    Kaledrina Reply:

totally! she could perhaps even recruit other ex-kos as well.. it’s just a shame as given the choice, i’d rather jackie stick around.

  15. jacqueline definitely seemed a little rusty, but that’s fair enough – as far as i know this recent stint in tna has been her only wrestling experience for the last few years..

overall a decent match, not that happy about the stipulation as the kos could do with a couple extra faces but for all we know jackie and odb could just show up again next week.. or odb could perhaps pull a “you didn’t pin me, bammm!” and stick around on her own..

anyway, looking forward to next week!

    EveLover Reply:

“You didnt pun me ,baammmm !” LMFAOOOO !!!!!

  16. I wonder if ODB and Jackie really are gone. It seems like ODB will be back, judging by how the cameras focused on her, but who knows? I really hope Jackie/ODB stay…. if they don’t, then maybe this mini-feud was simply something used to give put Velvet over as a more credible wrestler?

  17. velvet exceeded my expectations in this match. the match was just what it needed to be to get the program across. velvet will never be a nattie or a tara in the ring but she came across as credible and smart here by taking the early advantage against two tougher opponents. this wasn’t a match that was going to be won by superior skill but this was a well laid out scrap that played to velvet’s strengths and covered the weaker aspects of her game. odb and jackie did what they could with what they were given and put over the babyface. all in all a pretty good match that could easily have been a wreck. kudos to all three.

velvet also returned to form on the mic this week. her last promo was a bit of a mess but this was spot on. i’m not a fan of velvet most of the time but she really stepped up here. this program with odb hasn’t been something that interested me with the brawling outside the ring week after week. given that i was biased against this match at the outset, i think they did a really good job of reeling it back in and making something decent of it.

  18. i hope Jacqueline sticks around, she’s 1 of my faves,

i see Velvet feuding with various knockouts until Winter gets the title off Mickie

then i feel Velvet will go after the KO title and eventually win it (well i hope she wins)

  19. strong promo.. but weak ass match. all velvet did most of the time was kick, chops and throw someone on the corner. im not convince on her wrestling skill. only thing that saved her was that chair shot.

  20. Good match! Didn’t realize that Velvet used the kickstand DDT like Lita use to use when she wrestled. Jackie still looks good in the ring!

  21. TNA’s got WAY too many storylines for their Knockouts right now (for their guys in general). Its refreshing to see but theres a way too do it and that includes showing them on a consistent basis. Tara and Madison have this big match next week and they weren’t even on Impact. It doesn’t take much more then 30 seconds to show them in a brief catfight backstage or something.

However, TNA has done a good job with this storyline (it doesn’t involve the championships whatsoever but you cant have everything). I hope this isn’t the end of Jacqueline because I’m a big fan of hers and I despsie ODB but either way, their using them both great in the way of getting Velvet over.

    Kaledrina Reply:

i like how they seem to alternate on a weekly basis between love/winter/mickie and velvet/whoever, but yeah.. tara/rayne has definitely gotten pushed to the side. perhaps if it was a normal ppv rather than an x-division one, tara/madison would’ve been on the card, and not pushed to the back in a likely throwaway on impact?

  22. I was not a fan of the match to be honest. I thought the match never got out of first gear and I did like the use of the chair, but else wise, I was extremely bored watching this. I think there wasn’t enough actual wrestling, Velvet wasn’t really doing much, but chops and closelines.

And ODB & Jackie didn’t really add to the match, as all they did was punches and kicks. I thought it was more of a brawl, than a match.

  23. “Gone are the days that Velvet Sky is the target of every Knockout round here.”

LOL right, until your next feud Velvet. This feud has just been a clusterfuck from the start, very little build, a few nice surprises, but as soon as it’s out and running it’s shot down again. Also does every Velvet Sky feud have to end in a loser leaves TNA match? Is that the only way to put her over? I agree the match was unentertaining, I think someone thought if you throw in a chair then it’d be a success, but if anything it just made it more painfully obvious that none of the three Knockouts had anything about them. Velvet does the same old, same old and it’s funny how she has people hyping her work, ever since she turned face – guess it hasn’t occurred to anyone that she’s not improving and they might just be fickle. ODB was entertaining, but as pointed out it just seemed like a braw and for the type of feud this is, that’s fine, but we got all the with the numerous backstage attacks. I’m a Jacqueline fan, but was disappointed by her lack of showcasing tonight, she used to be so cocky before, now she just seemed like she was generically dropped in because she could make it to the Universal Studio’s

The other match was okay, Tara seems to have really dropped, I know she was Madison’s little lap dog and all but she seemed strong then, standing up to her. Ever since Mickie’s freed her it’s really like she’s put Mickie over as the better Knockout and is now just an ally, with very little personality other than she rides a bike to the ring. Tessmacher needs to do something too, that doesn’t involve just filling spots in tag team matches, because everyone else is busy.

  24. Its been a long time since I’ve seen someone with as much charisma as Velvet.
That saying, shes just another Kelly to me. Has been with a company FOREVER, yet still looks so frickin’ awkward and sloppy. The only reason no one hates on her like they do Kelly is because Velvet has extremely talented girls carrying her. Before everyone grabs their pitchforks, I’m not hating on her. I just wish she would sharpen up her skills a little more. I hate cringing everytime I watch her wrestle.

  25. Well the match was ok but nothing more. I watch Velvet & ODB & Jackie wrestling and Im wondering where the booking for this is going because its all over the place. I would have much rather seen a match with the other knockouts etc.,

  26. Just watched the match and I thought it was pretty good. I went into the match not really believing that realistically Velvet could ever beat Jackie and ODB lol I love Velvet to death but she is not the greatest in ring worker. I will say though what she lacks in actual in ring skill she greatly makes up for in character, personality and charisma. She is always able to get me interested in her and roots for being the under dog in the end. I really do hope that this is not that last for Jackie and ODB. I am glad they were back and brought some much needed energy to the knockout’s. I did hear ODB yelling in the end saying this isn’t the last of me or something to that effect so maybe she is going to be sticking around for while.

  27. boring match.
