What a fantastic 48 hours for the WWE as a whole, as well as the Divas. A lot of us doubted that the ‘E could keep their momentum after Money in the Bank, but they’ve certainly proven me wrong, and I hope all of you as well. SummerSlam provided us with the return of the top you-know-what to ever grace the squared circle, Mrs. Stephanie McMahon. And it also gave us a shocking Kelly Kelly victory over Beth Phoenix in one of the most beautiful ways possible. Raw had a lot to live up to and it absolutely smashed a home run right over the center field wall. Kelly teamed up with her BFF Eve Torres to take on Brie and Nikki Bella. The Divas of Doom, Beth and Natalya, made their presence felt in two drop-dead flawless outfits, Stephanie continued to baffle all of us, and Vickie Guerrero, the reigning Queen of Fierce, could have very well stolen the show last night. Let’s hurry up and get on with the action!

The first thing we’re going to get into is the tag match. I can admit that I totally popped for the Bella Twins (in their DB colors no less…) when they came out as I wasn’t expecting to see them. After all four ladies are in the ring, the Divas get into the usual trash talking. Kelly parades her championship in the twins’ faces, and finally it’s decided that Kelly and Brie will start the match off. 2K follows up her victory from last night with some impressive offense in the early stages of the match. She ends up getting Brie in the corner after hitting a sweet looking bulldog, and then she delivers a stinkface to her brunette opponent. Nikki walks over and provides a distraction which gives Brie a chance to strike Kelly from behind. The champ goes down, and Brie begins to work over Kelly’s leg. Brie pulls her to the corner, where she tags in Nikki, and the older Bella hurts Kelly just a little more. Nikki tags her sister right back in and that gives Brie a chance to mimic Nikki’s motions. They’ve got Kelly grounded. The merry-go-round of tags continue with Nikki coming into the match for good now and the work on Kelly’s hurt limb continues with a sick looking submission type of hold. Kelly is actually folded into a wicked looking triangle. That’s just not normal. Kelly, to her credit, is able to kick Nikki away with her good leg and she crawls over to her corner and makes the tag to Eve.

The ex-Divas Champ gets involved now and she takes control over Nikki. Not even a distraction from Brie can stop Eve from changing the course of the match. Nikki attempts to lift Eve up for a powerslam, but Eve wiggles out of it and lays Nikki out with a backwards neckbreaker (yes, I still give wrestling moves their own names, haha). Brie tries to come in to help, but Kelly is all over that. She takes Brie down which gives Eve an opportunity to go to the top rope and hit a moonsault on Nikki. She goes for the cover and that’s all she wrote, folks. The team of Kelly and Eve pick up a big win. They celebrate in style but that celebration is cut short when the Divas of Doom make their way out onto the stage. Beth and Natalya sarcastically applaud the victory of Kelly and Eve, and from there it’s just an intense stare-down. Love it.

First of all, how amazing did Beth and Nattie look?! OMG, wow. Beth’s whole look from last night needs to get into my closet right now and Nattie, well she always brings the fierce. We know she’s a little fashionista with her Louis Vuitton and Louboutin tweets so you just keep on keeping on girl. The Divas of Doom make me happy because as great of a face tag team as they were, Beth and Natalya are amazing at being heels. I truly hope these two stay together through thick and thin and perhaps when Kharma makes her return, they can all be a sick and twisted stable and continue to raise hell in the Divas division. Then and only then can they all turn on each other and give us an epic triple threat match at WrestleMania 29… but again, I’m getting way ahead of myself.

The Divas had another good match. The Bella Twins always impress me and I love the way they told a story in this match. They picked apart one body part and stayed with it, and that’s great. Kelly is proving that when given a little extra time she can pull out new moves, and I love her for it. Eve getting the pin was an interesting surprise and I’m excited to see where this is going.

And speaking of exciting, Vickie was given an interesting proposal by a former World Heavyweight Champion.

What sets up the backstage segment you’ve just watch is the fact Vickie and her main man, Dolph Ziggler (my man, haha), came to ringside to do commentary for the Alex Riley and Jack Swagger match. The couple spent the majority of the time bickering between themselves with Dolph putting the announcers in their place everytime they tried to diss Vickie and her appearance. Dolph and Vickie were great, as usual, but eventually Vickie grew tired of it and she left the broadcast booth.

But she didn’t go far.

Vickie took good ole J.R.’s hat and put it on her head. She strutted around in it for a little while, getting everyone to look at her. When Riley was in good shape to win the match, Vickie provided a hilarious distraction. She jumped on the apron and put the hat on the referee and that allowed Swagger to recover. To failed gut-wrench powerbombs later, Mr. I Couldn’t Unhook The Money in the Bank Briefcase on the Grandest Stage of Them All got a much needed win. And no, I’ll never let that go, ever. Vickie seemed pleased with herself and the greatest thing of all, Dolph had to sit there and watch his woman help another man win a match. Vickie is soooo vicious.

As far as the backstage segment goes, a Vickie and Swagger union would be epic. Vickie clearly loves her blonds and Swagger, despite his little fails (MiTB, ahem) is super talented. He’s being wasted on Raw and getting involved with Vickie would be amazing for him. I’ve never understood why the art of managing has died out, but having Vickie help bring the movement back is great. Managers can absolutely have more than one client and I’d love to see the two men fight over Vickie and have an eventual feud. The idea of a Dolph/Swagger match makes my mouth water and if you throw A-Ry into that mix, oh baby. Lets make this happen at Night of Champions.

I love great Raws.

And the greatness didn’t stop there. Stephanie, who shocked us all with her return at SummerSlam, showed up on Raw and she had yet another little segment with Diva Dirt favorite, CM Punk.

The 37 seconds of awesomeness left all of us with more questions than answers and honestly, I’m okay with that. I would love to sit here and speculate all day about what Stephanie meant when she told Punk that people always get what they deserve. In fact, we talked about it a lot on DD Live last night. I don’t know where this storyline is going. And I have no idea what it means. But what I know is that I love having Stephanie back on television. It’s where she belongs because until Vickie came along, no one could get a reaction quite like Stephanie. And a cryptic Stephanie is the absolute best Steph of all.

Again, I love great Raws. I’ll be truly shocked if SmackDown is able to top what we saw tonight. Good luck to them and I’ll see you guys next week! Until then… Cryssi out!

Wow, Cryssi being positive about everything? She’s a tough woman to please so when she says a show’s great, you know it was great. Hopefully we get some superstars action and smackdown as well

    Piggie James Reply:

Cryssi’s a WWE mark who isn’t afraid to let everyone know about it. Thankfully she doesn’t write the TNA reviews any more because that was always a disaster in terms of objectiveness.

I didn’t think it was a great Raw at all, but obviously I’m no longer a fan of WWE. She’s entitled to her opinion, though the suger coating markdom is a bit over the top. But you can like what you like.

WWE seriously needs to ban the Divas from applying holds in 2-3 minute matches. It’s not “psychology” when the holds lead to nothing and were just a way to eat up time, which is ridiculous in matches this short.

    Mikas Reply:

It lead to nothing? The Bellas are heels, and they were viciously working over the babyface’s leg until Kelly finally made the tag to her partner. The psychology on the Bella’s part was perfect. A big improvement over their past work when they throwing around weak punches, pulling hair etc.

    chrisP Reply:

Yes, nothing. Did the Bellas win with a leg submission or by scoring a quick pin when Kelly’s bad leg gave out? No. Did Kelly pull out a victory with an injured leg? No. Was Kelly hurt when she came back in the ring only a short time after tagging Eve? No. All that leg work was just a means to fill time.

    Lita-Sault-666 Reply:

What your saying is true, however. TV PG – Younger Audience. Most who don’t realise that this is scripted and just enjoy the storylines 7 the action in the ring. To them, The Bellas worked over K2′s leg to hopefully get a win with Kelly’s disadvantage coming into play, however, Eve snuck in for the victory instead.

    Simple as :).

    Piggie James Reply:

I agree though that the hold was useless when Kelly didn’t even sell it when she went running across the ring to take out a Bella. Just made the whole point of the hold redundant. You can twist it however you like, but Kelly should have sold it, unless they want to keep turning her into a female Cena (and make the Bella’s offense seem very weak).

The worst part was that the hold actually looked pretty painful, but simply ignoring it afterwards is just not good enough when you have less than 3 minutes to create a ‘story’ but can’t keep the story consistent.

They’d be much better off just having fast paced action that can get the crowd into the match. Notice that the crowd was actually pretty excited by Eve’s offense? The Kelly exchange on the other hand is the sort of reason why people skip Diva matches. They really have to make every second count because they certainly don’t get many.

    GlamazonInTraining89 Reply:

Totally Agree what ppl that dnt kno NEED 2 kno that lengthy submission holds that DON’T result in victory R just “rest periods” AND or “Time Killers” meaning they R only meant 2 give the wrestlers time 2 rebuild stamina lost in a match…WHICH leads me 2 believe that Either they have NO stamina WHATSOEVER which explains the 2 min matches cause you WILL get sloppy if ur Tired & still going. OR the WWE is trying 2 pacify us by using a “loophole” I.E ppl Were complaining that the Divas matches Were 2 short….OK Make it longer & put 9 pointless & time consuming tags & a 45 second Submission Hold.

  6. French.One

The match was horrible, the bellas moves were weak, the flapjack made by Kelly was really bad, when you see that Kailtyn with one year wrestling is able to do it better than Kelly that shows everything.
Eve was sloppy in his kicks too and he she takes like forever to execute his moonsault.
There were only two good spot, the submission by the Bellas, and the suplex countered into a neckbreaker.

    AJ Reply:

I didn’t think Kelly’s flapjack was really bad… but yeah, Kaitlyn can do it better but she’s a lot stronger than Kelly. That’s the first time Kelly has ever done that so if she starts doing it more she’ll get better. Just be happy she’s doing more moves.
I didn’t think Eve was sloppy either. She missed that one kick she always does but besides that it was fine.

kelly also done it while they practiced the match before the show…

I thought it was a good match. The fact that they were able to get time in the match helped it. Eve & Nikki did very well in the match while Brie & Kelly did hiccup a bit during the match but overall not a bad match. Defiantly one of the better random tag team matches as of late. The DoD appearing while nice to look at made no sense. They are going on how that it is the end of the pretty girls and all that and they come out all dressed up. Pretty much makes them look like hypocrites.

Having Vickie get more managers would be a good idea. If she does work with Swagger it could help him out. Swagger is a good worker but he needs someone to draw him some heat and who better then Vickie.

It looks to me that Stephanie is going to be the main person behind the whole incident with Kevin/HHH/Punk

  8. The segment with Vickie was funny :) ,Her and Dolph Always make me laugh .

Stephanie and Punk was also Great .

Onto The Match . I Really Liked it Tbh ,Raw is really becoming good again. The Bellas were good ,Im noticing that they are kinda underrated but oh well .Kelly was good ,I like that she used TWO NEW MOVES . Eventhough the flapjack wasnt the best ,at least shes trying and most of all trying something new .Eve did great too ,she shined in my eyes .I loved the dropkick ,The clothline and the neckbreaker ,the moosault was great too :) .The DOD appearance was a great move imo ,it could lead into Eve and Kelly vs DOD next week and it also helps the storyline progress .

All in all GREAT night fot the ladies ,Im really impressed .Next Stop Smackdown/Supestars :).

Btw-did anybody see The tweets from the girls ,Even the bellas were involved .Which again helps the storyline .OhMan Im loving it :D

I don’t see how anyone can say Eve was sloppy haha my ass she was! She really was the only one on point in this match besides Nikki? Kelly and Brie were the downside of the match.

    Megumi Reply:

Brie did nothing wrong in this match, this is just the typical case of trying to put Nikki infront of Brie. Brie carried most of this match on the Bella side, all Nikki did was get quick tags and work on the leg.

The crowd was so un-interested in the girls in the ring that they decided to chant ‘Bring back Melina’.

Eve should stop using the bicycle kick and the neckbreaker because shes always messing them up. Her bicycle kick was only hit right about two times out of 20 times or so. Her neckbreaker looks so sloppy and out of proportion that i even thought one of the Bellas performed the move, smh.

    RAW need Naomi asap.

    AJ Reply:

    When did they chant that!?

    Lily Reply:

Are you kidding me? First, you say they didn’t chant ‘you can’t wrestle’ at SS when they did and now you’re saying you don’t know when they chanted ‘bring back Melina’, smh. They chanted it at about 2:25-2:50.

    Mikas Reply:

2 or 3 people chanting doesnt equal “the crowd”.

    RR45 Reply:

No it doesn’t but that wasn’t 2 or 3 people especially not if it was heard on TV.

That was alot more than 2 or 3 people. Hear very closely and you’ll hear a ‘chorus of people’.

    UrFavFearsKelly Reply:

I was in attendace last night and can confirm that there was a guy in the second row chanting for Melina. He was also the only person who cheered for Jared the Subway guy later on in the show so take that how you will.

It was such an exhilarating experience as a fan to see my favorite wrestler live for the first time and hear her get the biggest reaction of all the divas!

Sorry if you’re bitterness can’t let you enjoy a heart-warming story like that from a true fan. :/

    BillyGP Reply:

Lily must you attack everyone who likes Kelly?

I did not hear a Melina chant nor a you can’t wrestle chant during the diva match at SS now i heard it during Cena vs Punk direct to Cena.

Kelly did get a good reaction but the crowd did seem dead for the match it self.

Eve neckbreaker was good not messed up.

    Mr. Asstastic Reply:

Aww, I believe you, UrFavFearsKelly. I’m glad you had a nice time. :)

    UrFavFearsKelly Reply:

‘You can’t wrestle’ were directed to K2 on Sunday night.

Also, UrFaveFearsKelly um you said a guy chanted ‘Bring back Melina’ yet i heard a dozen voices chanting her name? Now you’re either deaf or very in denial about K2 not being the center of the crowd attention for once or should i say twice (SS).

lmao wtf are you watching? she didn’t mess up anything all her moves were on spot. Man people will find anything and everything to bitch when it comes to Eve….even when she shows a good performance SMH

    Lily Reply:

You’re obviously a big Eve mark on here, i’v noticed along with the two other uses who will probably join in on defending Eve very soon. So don’t think i’ll being taking your opinion on Eve very serious.

All of her moves were on spot? Please re-watch the bicycle kick and the neckbreaker because i don’t think we’re watching the same thing. I also did not say Eve didn’t perform well, i’m just saying she should stop those two moves since most of the times she messes them up.

    Krazyvickay Reply:

She could have an amazing match and ppl would be like “she did great but I didn’t like the color of her costume so she sucks.

    JACKBLACK Reply:

I’m defending her bcuz you arent making no fucking sense! I’ve watched the match, and she didn’t mess up her kicks at all, she kicked the side of Nikki’s head. So where the hell is everyone getting she messed up a kick? Do people even bother watching the match or do most just go by silly ass comments made on here and join in on the “lets hate on everything Eve does” bandwagon.

    Mikas Reply:

Yes, she hit the side of the head, and thats the exact reason WHY people say it looked messed up. With a bicycle kick you jump and kick forward hitting the front of the head or the upperchest , “pushing” your opponent backwards. Hitting it on the side of the head doesnt make sense. She executed it as a weird version of a roundhouse kick, it looked terrible.

But personally i dont think she “messed up”, i think she intentionally didnt hit her opponent on the head. Eve has always held back a lot, as if she is afraid of injuring her opponent. But if she doesnt have the confidence to pull off that move properly, then let her use a regular roundhouse kick instead.

There is a nice compilation video of bicycle kicks on youtube (sheamus, mike knox, angelina love and R-truth are all in it). Look at those kicks, and then look at eve’s version again.

    Lily Reply:

Eve kicked the side of Nikki’s by a little but it looked as if she missed. Have you seen her past bicycle kicks? If you search up a random Eve match, you will understand what i’m talking about because you’ll witness the horrible kick. You’re in denial and can’t accept the fact that Eve tends to mess up the neckbreaker and the bicycle kick alot. Eve can perform the moonsault and the spinning neckbreaker very well but the she has to work on the other 2 moves.

    JACKBLACK Reply:

For real, you’re just coming off as nitpicking at shit. Now its neckbreaker? Had you said she kicked the side of her head I wouldn’t had said shit to you but your claim she misses her kicks and the neckbreaker all the time, which is bulll shit and simply not true.

Hell Kelly and Brie came off completely sloppy the whole time they were in the match and there isn’t near enough bitching going on about them. But lets shit on the person who actually did good in the match.

    Lily Reply:

Have you seen her neckbreakers?! It always comes off as if she’s the one whos being hurt and not her opponent like in this match.

Don’t forget Eve doing the moonsault. She looks so scared like she’s about to pee herself everytime she tries to do it.

Beth looked hot as fuck…she should wear skirts for appearances like that not actual matches…

sloppy match..eves kick, its clear the bella was meant to be bending over not standing up thats why it looked awkward…i liked the neck breaker bit but eve should make it seem like shes doing the move or maybe it was the angle…

kellys screaming again omfg stop, weak leg stuff from the bellas because those leg moves dont hurt..kellys flapjack was sloppy as you can see whatever bellas that was try to save kelly awkward performing of the move..that leg rana kelly did why did she move out more?..it showed the move & was clear the bella could have just thrown kelly off…

why do eves tops look like maryses now>?..the moonsault it takes her forever to do it..but glad eve got the win cant stand kellys shitty leg drop thingy..

    BillyGP Reply:

Kelly was screaming in pain selling so stop with the nitpicking of the screaming. How does leg holds not hurt specially when your foot touching your face? kelly does a good move and you still hate on it go figure. As for the flap jack yes it look shitty but she was selling a hurt leg too but it did come off shitty so i agree with that but i did not see the bella try to save the move.

    art Reply:

because i can bend my foot to my face & it doesnt hurt..the bella jumped into the move & kelly didnt even have to lift her because that bella jumped into the move after kelly tried going for it…

her screaming is f*cking awful its cringe worthy…shes over selling with that screaming & if i was in the ring with her id stiff the crap outta her..

    Piggie James Reply:

The problem with Kelly is that she screams a lot of the time for no reason at all, so that when it would actually be effective for her to scream to sell a move (such as that leg hold) people are so desensitized to her screaming that it doesn’t have much of an effect, and just serves to annoy the people who hate her screaming even more.

No one would care if she saved her screaming to a few select spots when it would actually be appropriate to do so. Her constant screaming just makes her seem like someone who has no tolerance for pain. But when she walks around fine right after, it clearly means that the opponent’s offense couldn’t have even been that damaging.

It’s just very basic ring psychology that she’s lacking, and she’s really been doing the same thing forever.

Have to agree about the flapjack as well. Kelly essentially did nothing but fall backwards while Brie (I believe) dived forwards. I can only assume Brie did this, because Kelly couldn’t lift her up. And seriously, when has Kelly done anything that involved strength? The Bellas can do suplexes and the like but Kelly really can’t do anything.

I think the only reason she has such a weak move set is because it hides all her other weaknesses as a wrestler.

    art Reply:

  19. Pretty solid match for what it was – with the exception of Eve’s kick and the sloppy flapjack.

  20. It was alright. The Bella’s carried most of the match, having to save a few awkward spots. Which is weird since I think both Kelly and Eve have been wrestling longer than the Bella’s yet they still seem to have to get them through it. Strange to me since I know Eve really isn’t that bad, just desultory. Kelly, I’m not going to make any comments on her any longer because people just go ballistic, negative OR positive.

I don’t think any of the girls are bad in the ring, Nikki and Brie conflate their moves greatly. They have the tag-team thing down. Kelly really needs to come into her own as a wrestler, and Eve just needs an identity.

When ever Eve does that bicycle kick it looks more like she’s kicking the person in the arm or shoulder most of the time to me. Also, the neck breaker actually looked fine to me. The only thing that looked awkward about the match was the weak looking attacks the Bellas were doing on Kelly’s leg.
