Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro Planning Wrestling Comeback, Joins WILD Wrestling

Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro recently sent out a bunch of tweets suggesting that she is planning on making a wrestling comeback.

The 2005 Diva Search winner mentioned that she wishes to be trained full-time and claims that she was trained on a per match basis during her time in the WWE.

I’m been yearning to mention this before-I want to be trained full time this time not match per match like WWE it’s tougher to pick up that quick than any of u can understand n I want to come back the best I can be like ever make u all proud. Not many had to learn on the spot n I’m not making excuses but I’m damn motivated n want to come back stronger harder n sicker than ever! I’m hoping y’all can understand that. I get trashed for botches or injuries wtf do u expect when u learn a move once rt before tv n on rd 330 days a yr w no off time to train it’s unrealistic.

She also makes mention of the women and men she worked with, such as Trish Stratus, Victoria and Jillian Hall:

But I thank the women in WWE I worked w utmost respect to Lisa Melina Jilliantrish all the girls who tried to help on my off time n mostly Paul Brian Kendrick n matt n Shane n all the guys really! The talent was so supportive and I’m ready to come back n make everybody proud especially my fans n supporters who appreciated the work I did do thanks to the help from the divas n fit n arnI love u guys for sticking by.

You will see me again like I said I’m coming back harder n stronger n TRAINED this time lol they learned there lesson never didthat2nother After all the injuries n potential given ones that could’ve happened! I love my work w WWE don’t get me wrong but I’m a fan like u guys n I know how it is n I know what people think, did I want to be amazing n wrestle like the vets absolutely but it takes time n I nevergotchanc.

Thanks for listening. The rest will be on a radio show I’m doing, I’ll explain a lot for anybody interested I f’ing love u guys thanks!

Meanwhile, WILD Wrestling has announced that Ashley has joined their roster. In an official press release, they write:

[notice]New York City, NY – Early on Sunday, former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro sent a message on her official Twitter account (@ashleymassaro11) that she wanted to get back into the wrestling world after a multi-year absence. In her tweet, she specifically mentioned her desire to become a WILD Warrior.

In subsequent tweets, she stated that she wanted to focus on her in-ring skills and that she wanted to become a world champion in the sport she loves.

Later in the day, WILD Owner Travis Leland made contact with her and they spent much of the afternoon coming to terms with each other. It is now official that Ashley Massaro is the newest member of our roster.

But word is that she won’t be stepping into the squared circle – just yet. Ms. Massaro will hold a different position in WILD until she feels the time is right to re-enter the ring. Although it is unclear what role she will play in the World Independent Ladies’ Division, Mr. Leland has told us that she is indeed a member of our organization.

Welcome to WILD Wrestling, Ashley Massaro![/notice]

Are you ready to see the ‘Dirty Diva’ in the ring again?

Thats very mean yes she wasnt exactly molly holly but how can you expect her to be anything but when she was trianed for a match per match basis she sounds liek she really just wants to wrestle give her a chance instead of bitching about her. The fact she wants to wait till the time is right shows shes taking wrestling seriously dosnt it?

Hey give her some slack, at least she admitted she wasn’t the best wrestler and she got injured alot and botched alot, but if you read this article, it says she is going to train and she will not return to the ring til she is ready, so just giver her a chance.

Let her have her opinion about the girl. It’s just an opinion. Why do y’all act so bitchy about it?

          August 30, 2011 at 2:25 am

Im not being bitchy Im just saying give jer I chance which is what BRETT is sayinf whats wrong in that may I ask?. Ashly has been given A LOT of shit talked about her on here over the years by a lot of fans without some people being quite mean. I dont think im being a bitch in asking that we show her some repespect and giver her the benifit of the doubt now she’s actually in a postion were she is given enough time to learn how to wrestle proply. If she got the wrestling down she’d be the full package

If she really wants to give it a shot- good for her, I wish her all the best. It takes guts to work your way up all over again in the indys, especially when you’ve experienced the big leagues.

I really hope she puts in the time to improve in the ring. Msybe if she got a lot better, she could get a try-out match or TNA? Who knows? I wish her the best.

P.S. I really there won’t be a thousand comments trashing Ashley and talking about how much she sucked.

I believe it when i see it, with Ashley you never know whats the truth.

She is 32 years old, thats kinda old to start your wrestling career. And hanging out with Matt Hardy and Shane Helms isnt going to be a very positive influence either.

Well she could get a few good 4 years maybe out of that before retiring or maybe even more. And if she is really that dedicated to learn then I wouldn’t mind seeing some more of her.

I totally loved ashley and her attitude .She wasnt the best wrestler but Im glad she wants to be fully trained and come back because tbh I would LOVE to see her back. She was one of my favorites back in the day and it would be great to see her again :) .

If Ashley’s really committed to doing this then that’s great for her. I won’t say I’m very optimistic about it given her history, but I hope the best for her and that she succeeds.

I suppose her story somewhat checks out, because I don’t believe she ever got any foundational wrestling experience in the developmental territories, and it would certainly explain a lot. So in which case, you can’t really blame her for being horrible in the ring. She just didn’t have any proper training at all.

She still has a shady past, especially concerning her departure from WWE, but nothing that I would hold against her if she has moved on from it.

Basically, if she’s healthy, and isn’t going to no-show appearances (like she has in the past), she deserves a chance.

One last thing, something she said really stuck out a lot: “You will see me again like I said I’m coming back harder n stronger n TRAINED this time lol they learned there lesson never didthat2nother After all the injuries n potential given ones that could’ve happened!

Does it sound like she’s really being very critical of WWE for not giving her adequate training (and therefore making it very dangerous for her and her co-workers)?. From record, I can only remember a very few Divas who went straight to wrestling on TV after being hired (with no training). Perhaps WWE saw it as a failed experiment with Ashley, and had to change their ‘transforming models to wrestlers’ policy to actually give them some wrestling training first.

I think if she trains before she starts to compete again it will be a good thing. She was thrown onto WWE TV just as she won the Diva Search. No time to train and it’s a very hectic life with WWE so she had no real time to train. I think we should give her a chance before we put her down

I really doubt anything will come of this or if she even fulfils the booking.

Just hope she has gotten on top of her personal demons.

Most ppl seem to forget that upon winning the Diva Search, Ashley was thrust right into a main roster spot, much the way Hemme was the year before her…and NOT given proper time to train! And everyone bashes Ashley and her lack of skill for that! All along i have been saying everyone is bashing the wrong person…Ashley did what she could in the LITTLE time she was given to learn before a match!

Sounds to me like Ashley really wants to wrestle, she just wants to be given a chance to do it right this time…i am willing to give her that chance! I hope she proves a lot of her haters wrong! I wish her all the best!

Good for her. I’ve always had a soft spot for Ashley, even if she wasn’t the most naturally gifted wrestler in the world. She seems like a sweet girl, and some of the hatred she received from certain people was ridiculous.

      August 29, 2011 at 6:37 pm

Agreed. Ashley was a great personality and easy to connect with. I wouldn’t mind seeing her back in wrestling one bit.

She always got a pop. The fans got behind her, for the most part she was the most popular diva in the WWE throughout her run (after Mickie (1) and Maria (2) ) . Says something :) x

    August 29, 2011 at 5:35 pm

I just looked at her match stats and noticed that she didnt really do many houseshows, so unlike the other divas she wasnt ‘on the road’ nonstop. That means she had plenty of time to train, she could’ve showed more initiative to get some proper training. It’s too easy to put all the blame on her “match by match” training.

      August 29, 2011 at 6:05 pm

Match stats? Where did you see them at would love to look at them.

There are 3 cagematch, profightdb and gennecksomething. For WWE results cagematch is the most complete i think.

I always had a soft spot for Ashley, I liked her spunk & good for her if that’s what she wants. However, I do hope she’s resolved some of her issues with no showing & insanity that she had stemming from her release, boasting things that weren’t true.

  17. iLUVwrestlingValets

    August 29, 2011 at 7:29 pm

You know i honestly didn’t know that she was trained match per match, as matter of fact thats probably how most other divas like Christy hemme, Layla and Kristal learned at the start of their career (that finally explains why ashley wrestled the way she did) like honestly yea she may be a little old but i think if she where to back up what she is saying in those tweets, then whose to say that she wont turn out to be a solid wrestler, time will tell i guess. Ill give her chance. I really learned something today lol

Where did Ashley write this? A blog or on Twitter?

Seriously, this girl needs to take English class over again, and learn how to spell & use punctuation correctly. Just sayin …

  19. shameronstar

    August 29, 2011 at 7:44 pm

Oh no, not her again. LOL! but seriously do I have to remind people that she’s part of the reason the divas don’t get proper story lines going into Wrestlemania or proper matches at Wrestlemania anymore. Plus her wrestling skill was so poor it literally brought down the quality and expectations for the divas which is probably why the bookers and writers don’t take the divas seriously these days.

I’m excited – I love her. Sick of all the vicious people on the internet doing nothing but slate her… so sad. Can’t wait to see Ashley back in wrestling!

Im a big fan of her and can’t wait to see her return, even though shes not the best wrestler i think with more training she will surprise us all.

Uh-oh! Someone is going to get seriously hurt. I would like Ashley to stay far away from the ring and raise her child.

Layla trained while on the road & shes a solid performer..i just think you either have it into you to wrestle or dont & she doesn’t..or it was hard for her to improve while on the road like it is for kelly..

  24. JACKBLACK

    August 29, 2011 at 9:25 pm

Both Layla and Eve have trained while on the road hell Eve still trains on her off days at the gracie academy so its not “unrealistic” as she says..shes just fucking lazy and didn’t care enough to improve.
