Ric Flair: TNA Knockouts ‘Work Harder Than Some of the Guys’

Legendary wrestler Ric Flair has bestowed huge praise upon the Knockouts division, saying that they “work harder than some of the guys”.

The Nature Boy, who came to TNA in January 2010 after leaving WWE following his retirement there, tells British website, The Skinny:

“When I first came to TNA I was just so surprised at how talented some of the guys on the roster were. We have without a doubt the best wrestlers the industry has to offer today. Not only are our main event guys the best but also our tag-team and the women’s ‘Knockout’ division. It is the girls that TNA get the most mileage out of because of how hard they work. I think they work harder than some of the guys, they are out there proving themselves every single night that they are serious about competing in this business. They are just great wrestlers.”

Thoughts: That’s got to mean a lot to the Knockouts coming from someone of Flair’s magnitude. Nice to see that he has taken notice and gives them credit where it’s due.

couldn’t said it better myself,it nice that a well known wrestler like ric acknowledge that.

Thats the truth because in the WWE it seems like the Divas are scratching their way to survive and the KO’s really put their heart and passion in wrestling and I just hope that the Divas can do that too in 2012.

didnt Gail Kim say that the Divas weren’t allowed to work too hard or they would show up the guys?

      • Jhonmarco

Yup, that & they were told to be more girly. -_-

    amen

  • shameronstar

Wow! I didn’t expect expect such a compliment from Ric Flair:D

awesome compliment from a legend for the knockouts…maybe wwe will make their division better to rival the knockouts because the talent is their…

Couldn’t agree more. Its amazing that sometimes the KO’s get the most ratings throughout the whole episode of Impact.

It is nice to know that Flair respects his coworkes unlike the dirtbag Hogan. I am so glad that he praised the knockouts.

  • Jamesgangforever

I completely agree Ric, the knockouts definitely bust their asses of and they prove that each and every week. The Divas could learn alot from the knockouts. The only time we get great matches from the divas are at the ppv’s. I also heard that they do pretty good on NXT, but for some reason we are always given these crap ass matches on SmackDown and Raw.

    • Raekon

It’s because the divas are not allowed to do more and restricted from outshining any male in wwe, not because they can’t or don’t want to.

The talent is there, the passion is there but vince and johnny want them to be girly eye candy 99% of the time and limiting them in time and on moves in the ring.

  • BillyGP

Flair is right while i dont like the guy i respect him and his opinions.

  • Mikas

This goes for all female wrestlers in the industry, not just the knockouts. They HAVE to work much harder if they want to stand out in this industry.

But i take Flair’s professional opinion with a huge grain of salt. When you call the tagteam division the best in the industry you dont really score many points, its basicly nonexistent. But i seriously doubt Flair follows wrestling much outside of his work environment.

    • bressie

Before TNA Flair would do the exact same speech every night on the indies about how great the wrestlers in Anywhere Championship Wrestling were.

I definately agree with Flair the Knockouts deserve all the praise they get! :)

Yup Knockouts no matter WHAT they do its always the best.
This in now way is a shot to the Divas simply Ric Flair’s opinion on the TNA Knockouts. Ive seen the divas put on amazing matches but like Maria n Gail Kim said..WWE asks the girls to water down AND to be girly, cant kick n punch, cant do moves that outsell the guys. Hell Melina n Michelle got in trouble for that Barricade DDT in 2009..smh
Not the male wrestlers fault its management.

The women allready have to work twice as hard in wrestling to keep up with the men. No surprise the divas are looked down upon as ((by will of wwe) are only pretty girls that appeal to women fashionwise and whatnot.
Say what you will about KOs and their “Trashy Clothes” but when they get in the ring its all ass kicking business! Whether its ODB or Velvet Sky u always will get pure fire and aggression from these women! Gail Kim in TNA is not working as hard tho lol..I wonder if she feels somewhat…err u know..spoiled. She said so herself that winning the WWE Womens Championship felt rather, not exciting, bet she feels like that about her title right now since it wasnt won with as much fight like the Bound For Glory Battle Royal

    • TheGamergirl22

True that, I mean if they show better women wrestling that would equal more money and ratings or at least less people tuning to Football for 5 minutes then come back. , No wonder Vince aint a billionaire. That sexist and bad business I mean whats they point of paying these divas if there not going to bring you more money,

Also according to Bleacher report Vince is high on the Belle Twins (oh boy more boring wrestling)

      • http://twitter.com/BroskiRomano Ryan

Dont be fooled for a second vince macmahon doesnt know that the girls could be a draw..its just his personal override that keeps the women in wwe looking pathetic. HE wants it this way
Women are a beauty you cant expect any one in their right mind to keep women under wraps for only 2 minutes covered up and acting girly..
TNA has their women on fire and free! Thats how they all make a diffrence and they are hot as hell! Yet can gain a real mans respect in that ring even in lingerie!

  • MNM4ever

WORD! you gotta TNA praise for how they allow the knockouts time and give them a storyline; and the knockouts are all so talented

  • Raekon

No matter what Flair was or is, he at least respected his female coworkers in the old days and he still does.

I just wish that vince and johnny would do the same so the divas can finally get more time, good feuds, can develop their characters and rock the ring the way they could and should, not the way they are doing right now due to all the limitations.

I have some things to say.

    1. I agree with Ric and the comments here at Diva-Dirt. The Knockouts are just awesome. The Knockouts division has been, still is, and will forever be the better womens division in mainstream wrestling. I don’t give a damn what anyone else has to say about that especially Diva fanboys/fangirls like SherriShepherdWWE. I am a true wrestling fan that watches A LOT of wrestling. From Mainstream to Indy to International. So I don’t give a damn about what your thoughts are on wrestling unless you are a actual true wrestling fan like me. Not some Diva or Knockout fanboy/fangirl.

    2. For those who want change in the WWE, I hate to be mean & cynical but I think that will only happen when the following does.

    a. Vince either leaves and gives control to the company to someone who gets wrestling (i.e. CM Punk) or until he dies. I don’t wish Vince to die, I am just saying that change will NOT happen until he is gone from the WWE. Either by his own choice to leave or by his death.

    b. When scumbags like Johnny Ace don’t have powerful positions in WWE.

So those wanting change are going to have to wait a LONG time.

    • A.E

you are damn right unless wwe changes that you mentioned and you aren’t cynical we won’t see the divas division getting any better anytime soon right now the divas division is merely a shell of it’s format self.and the ko on the other hand yeah they may not what is used to be in the past but they have good lengthy matches decent storyline.

  • Spideywebby

The Knockouts are definitely showing so much more skills & talents comparing to the Divas. They deserves the praises. Yes it’s not the Divas fault, it’s the management. But then again the Divas are the ones who choose to stay in WWE. If Gail Kim have a choice, so can the others. So we can’t put ALL the fault onto Vince & gang anyway.

  • MsPinkNightMare

agreed There :-) from one of the legends him self Ric Flair who doesn’t love flair u are just not a fan so ha! I think he’s so right because of the guys just run there mouth and the girls just kick butt
