Welcome one and all to your first ever Ring Ka King Write-Up, a spin-off of our regular Impact Write-Up, and boy, what a ladies match we have to kick things off.
First of all, for those who do not know, “Ring Ka King” is a promotion set up by TNA and production company Endemol that takes place in India for an electric crowd who may not get to see wrestling first hand very often. The show airs on the Colors network in India, and features many notable names including some you’ve previously seen reported here. Well, it pleases me to say that the match I get to recap tonight is between two women who pretty much everyone that likes female wrestling knows about, that being Mickie James and Alissa Flash (Cheerleader Melissa to some not familiar with her TNA persona). Will the current Knockout best the former? Or can Alissa topple Mickie and prove her greatness to the rabid Indian fans? Let’s find out!

We head to the pretty amazing looking arena as that oh-so familiar (and heavily missed) theme music of Alissa Flash hits. She walks out from the back and executes her finest pose on the stage, before strutting down to the ring and stepping inside. Suddenly, her posing is cut off by a sound that I know very well from Thursday nights… HARRRDDCURRRRRRR COUUNNNTREEHHHHHHH!~ Out skips our favorite country lass, Mickie James, rocking some of her old WWE gear and looking as great as ever. She slides into the ring and poses for the fans, as I take notice of the referee’s green striped shirt. Anyways, the bell sounds and we get things started!
The two lock up, as Mickie takes control with an arm lock until Alissa reverses it and wrenches on the wrist. James with a one armed cartwheel, but Alissa knows this move all too well as she slams Mickie down to the canvas by the hair and chokes her with her boot. Flash Irish whips Mickie, but James slides under the legs, snapmares her over, and charges with a running dropkick! Mickie connects with some punches, as she is sent into the corner and elbows a running Flash. Legs up..and yes! She scores with the Mick-A-Rana! James follows it up with a clothesline, and heads to the top rope before Alissa snaps her off.
Flash begins to pound Mickie’s head into the ring canvas, before choking her using the bottom rope and then transitioning it into a boot choke. Flash starts to toy with Mickie, but she just ends up pissing her off it looks, as James starts to go off. She runs off the ropes until Alissa scores with a HUGE boot to the face for a two count. This sparks Alissa to apply a very unique submission that looks both amazing and painful. James somehow manages to slide to the bottom rope, but she just can not mount a comeback yet. Alissa looks to go for a Samoan Drop, but Mickie escapes out the back and rolls her up into a bridge for a two count! James ducks a clothesline attempt and charges off the ropes with a few of her own to fire this crowd up. She then scores with the flapjack kip up and begins to head to the top rope!
Flash gets to a vertical base, and Mickie leaps off with the Thesz Press into a split cover for a two count as Alissa gets the shoulder up. James signals that the end is near, but Alissa pokes her in the eye and nails the Samoan Drop! She hooks the leg and only musters a two count. Alissa looks to go for the Emerald Fusion, but Mickie manages to kick her in the gut and plant her with the Mickie-DT! Hook of the leg, and James gets the three count! Mickie celebrates her victory to the ravenous fans, as Alissa plots her revenge for another day.
Thoughts: What a competitive match between Mickie and Alissa. I was completely into this and I thought both women performed great together. It’s a shame that we never saw this on Impact Wrestling, but if this is how they want to present female wrestling to the Indian crowd, then it’s fine by me! I like the idea of Alissa being their top female heel, and Mickie being their fan favorite since she’s one of the most notable names in women’s wrestling today. The only fault I have with this is that Ring Ka King doesn’t air on my own TV because this is the type of match I would love to watch on a larger screen!

I’m not saying they wont wrestle again because i’m positive they will, i just doubt they will have any sort of proper feud. So far they only have 3 Knockouts and nothing to compete for, they’ll have a few matches here and there similar to what SD was like up until 2007 imo.
yay mickie’s old wwe gear! but i thought cheerleader melissa was supposed to be raisha saeed? oh well amazing!
loved the match and i really hope to see more of the two down the line what is confuse me a bit that the spoiler said that Melissa is deputing as Raisha oh well U can’t really count fully on spoilers

Melissa is in the show as Raisha in the Sheiks stable (the daivari brothers) since episode one already. :)
She was their manager in all 3 episodes so far.
I wish Mickie would start wearing some of her retro attires more often! I liked her attire from a initial wwe run as psycho Mickie because I thought her wacky tacky shirts were kind of cute:) Also is Alissa Flash a TNA knockout again? Maybe that should send Traci, Sarita and Rosita to India because there not doing anything right now!

Yes Finally! I went the 1st 3 episodes thinking the match was on one of them lol. I enjoyed the match it was nice , I wish it was a bit more fast paced though.
I wish Alissa was still in TNA , such a wasted talent . When she was still with TNA I was gutting for her to get a title shot or push but maybe tna thought other wise. I would love for her to come back and have matches with Mickie , Tara , Gail , Angelina , Winter , Sarita lol….
And seeing Mickie in her wwe attire reminds me of how much Im GLAD she isnt in wwe anymore. I hope she never goes back there..she needs to retire in TNA. But I do miss her skirts tho

Mickie had a great career in WWE? Her best matches and her best moments have happened with that company. Sure the Piggie James storyline was distasteful BUT it was the most drawn out and well thought of storyline that the Diva’s have had since Trish retired.

Those don’t even touch her psycho storyline in 2005 to 2006 & her Piggy James storyline in 2009 to 2010. Just my opinion though.

Yeah Yeah! I know Mickie had a successful carrer in wwe but there isnt anything left for her in wwe anymore …she cant carry the younger divas , she isnt good at carying the upcoming divas so nobody wants to see her face Eve , Kelly , The Bellas. Although I do want to see her wrestle Aj ^_^. She already wrestled Beth a million times and lets be real they dont have chemistry , Natalya ? Eh…Its not like it would happen anyway.
Besides I honestly think Mickie is happier in TNA than she was in wwe..but thats just my opinion

But the thing is Mickie had great moments in TNA and WWE and TNA again. In 2003 she took a fireball to the face along with the clockwork Orange House of Fun matches and competing against MEN. I still say if not for her first TNA run i doubt WWE would of signed her.

Ok first Mickie can carry in matches. Second Mickie and Beth have chemistry with each other hell they been wrestling each other for 11 years Beth first match was against Alexis aka Mickie. I would love to see AJ vs Mickie or Mickie vs Nattie. But i agree Mickie seems happier in TNA.

Mickie cannot carry a girl to save her life. In WWE when she wrestled newer girls she couldn’t carry them at all, the matches were sloppy & made both her & her opponent look bad. Someone like McCool was MUCH better at that. Wrestling someone a lot doesn’t mean you are going to have chemistry & tbh if you’ve seen one Mickie/Beth match you’ve seen them all. The only match I liked from them was maybe their divas title match on raw back in 2009.

@BillyGP – Michelle McCool made Kelly Kelly , Eve , & hell even Layla during Michelle’s face run look good. Mickie on the other hand hasnt IMO , and Im sure most will agree because its been said before. Mickie’s matches with Rosa , Layla & That wone match with Alicia were okay. Of course Mickie dosent have to hold her own when she faced Beth , Nattie , Melina , Victoria , Trish & Lita.

@JohnMarco The only Mickie & Beth match I enjoyed was their 1st ever match together at Armmaggedon (However you spell it lol) & Their Divas Title match on Raw.
Mickie had amazing chemistry with Melina & Victoria the most , and Trish , Lita. I cant say Natalya since they only had one singles match together.

If Mickie went back to WWE she could engage in feuds or matches with Natalya, Aj, Maxine, Kharma or return as a heel and face off against Kelly Kelly which would be as big as any match in terms of who they are in the company and their popularity.

I personally believe Mickie will end her career in WWE. She’s said MANY times it’s her home and she would have never left and she’d go back if she had the chance. It’s just where she wants to be. And there are still some things she can do. I always wanted to see another Mickie psycho heel run. With that she could have great feuds with Kharma, Natalya, Layla and even Kelly Kelly…. all of which we haven’t seen before. I just really believe she’ll end her career in WWE.

Mickie has always been one of my favourites and she is a great competitor but she is not the best, imo i consider Mickie as being quite over-rated because of her popularity, accolades and how heavily pushed she has been throughout her mainstream wrestling career.

The quality of Mickie’s wrestling is fine, but it depends on the tenacity of her opponent. I feel Mickie’s at her best when given opponents who are just as if not more physical than she is.

Whoa, didn’t mean to start anything. I wasn’t knocking on Mickie, but she is not as talented as those ladies I mentioned above. She’s a good wrestler, but when compared to someone like Del Rey, Melissa, and MsChif, who are considered the top female stars of today — Mickie doesn’t even make the top ten. As a wrestler she is safe and lacks the technical skill the women I mentioned above have. Take it as you will, but Mickie is not as good as you are claiming her to be.

I agree, she is good but definately isnt in the top. Put her in the ring with a veteran or another good wrestler like Melissa and you get an awesome match, but put her in the ring with a less experienced wrestler and you have a trainwreck on your hands. And when only half your matches are good you cant really be considered a top wrestler.

So True A.E. in 2009 i felt Mickie heart was not into wrestling like she is now and was before 2009.
I think it’s pretty smart for TNA to partner up with Endemol to form this promotion in India. Pro-wrestling is REALLY popular there and with increasing network coverage is a great market to tap into. Smart move to use Alissa Flash. If she’s a regular in India, could be great for her to gain a following outside of the US indy scene.
Okay…..I understand that Mickie James is a very talented wrestler, I really do.
But I really want to see Melissa get some wins. TNA screwed her over when she was on Impact, so hopefully she will get some wins in India.
I like both girls but this match was boring to me. I wish there were a lot less rest holds and more action. More fastpaced would’ve been nice too.

A good match, it’s amazing how although the match was about 5 minutes it felt so much longer.
Both of these women are amazing and although Mickie is my favourite female wrestler I would agree that maybe she is a bit over rated, but with Mickie’s moveset, it is her moveset. She hasn’t copied from anyone else.
Just because she can’t carry doesn’t means she isn’t good. Maybe she is one of those people who does not like working with inexperienced wrestlers. If it was me I wouldn’t like it.

haha thats true when Mickie used to work against Madison in the early part of TNA you could tell she wasnt into it. She wasnt into it wrestling Layla Maryse or Rosa Mendes from wwe either lolz

The match was good for what it was but to me it looked as if these two doesn’t “connect” well with each other.
Mickie was totally speedy, Melissa on the other hand were partially struggling to keep up with the speed(in one spot she even had to look twice and almost botched the move).
Not saying that it’s all on Melissa though cause the speedy one needs to lessen her speed a bit so the match can look good in all its spots as a team, not run into the ring, do your 5-10 moves one after another and go out of it again while hoping that her opponent can keep up.
Through this it felt for me as if Mickie wanted to rush through the match, while Alissa were using the time given.
All in all a good showcasing but it could had been match better by showing more character on both sides and use the time to sell themselves better than just run in there, do a few moves and call it a day.
With that being said:

I did feel the disconnect too. From Mickie and Melissa. Mickie is speed and fire bro! I wouldnt want Mickie to slow down. I felt Alissa was too slow. Her matches with Hamada were awesome because neither was a speedy gonzalez!
And divas NEVER Botch!!!,…thats because they do the same match every day for a year same structure same choreography

Divas do botch as do superstars from time to time aswell.
What I mean was that he said that they are “terrible” in the ring and then he goes and makes such a huge botch in his match in which he could had been greatly injured (he turned on the wrong side and barely catched up afterwards when Chavo were flying on him already).
I agree on Mickies speed, however as good co-workers, they both should had made sure the connection is there instead of Mickie just “doing her thing” (1st move check, 2nd move check and so on…) while Alissa were “following” trying to keep up.

a really competitive match. Mickie is always a hit or miss worker but she was on form here and these two should have more matches, be it on here or on the indies somewhere. for some reason here Alissa was looking a bit like Tamina when she has her hair straight. there is a small resemblance even though Alissa is white

They did the same with one of chavos moves at a later match. <_<
Either let them learn what each move is so they can do better commentary or just let the wrestling moves out of their commentary cause it sounds ridicoulos.
Alissa’s offense is really good and she’s very aggressive. Plus, when she incorporates more of her moveset into her matches there usually very, very good. However, I ways that thought her selling was a bit stiff, at least from what I’ve seen.
