Exclusive: TNA President Dixie Carter Issues Statement on WSU Hall of Fame Induction

TNA President Dixie Carter has issued a statement to Diva Dirt regarding her induction into the WSU Hall of Fame this past Saturday.

WSU honored Carter in its annual Hall of Fame prior to the company’s 5th Anniversary Show live on Internet pay per view. Other inductees included WSU stars Jana and Cindy Rogers, as well as the late Georgiann Makropoulos, editor of the Wrestling Chatterbox newsletter and friend to many, many wrestlers.

Carter was not present at the ceremony which took place in Deer Park, New York, however, we’re told WSU will be sending her award to her in the mail.

In a statement issued to Diva Dirt, Carter wrote:

I am very proud of TNA’s Knockout division. I support any time women’s wrestling can be done in a competitive, professional manner. Thank you for this honor.

Speaking to Diva Dirt last year regarding the decision to induct Carter, WSU promoter Sean McCaffrey said:

How many female promoters are out there? How many female promoters have there been? There haven’t been many. I can only name two or three off the top of my head. Dixie Carter, no matter what you want to say about TNA, stood the test of time. She gives people jobs. I don’t necessarily agree with the way they do things there [in TNA], but the fact is, she’s a female promoter, she’s keeping wrestling alive. If it wasn’t for her, there’d only be one national company. She’s giving people a place to work. She’s giving wrestling fans an alternative, if you want it. Whatever you want to say about TNA, she’s very successful as far as keeping her company alive for 10 years. I mean, how many times have we heard, “Oh TNA, is going to go out of business?” They’re still kicking and as a female promoter in a male-dominated world, she’s still up there. She’s head above shoulders.

Congratulations to Dixie Carter and the fellow Class of 2012 inductees.

The WSU Hall of Fame ceremony will be available on DVD soon via WSUVideo.com.

Female promoters. What about Stephanie McMahon? Sure, she has this nails on a chalkboard voice on television and she was likely put in her position because she’s the boss’s daughter. But, she has a role probably greater then Dixie Carter has.

And she gives people jobs, if the KOs were paid well, that would be something to brag about.

I honestly feel Dixie is the Mom of TNA. How many wrestlers have said that she goes on a personal level with them? Just look at Jesse Sordensen. He’s not even a main eventer but look at what Dixie has done for him? And she has been taken advantage of in the past ERIC AND HOGAN *COUGH* but in the end, she’s someone who has made TNA the way it is.

The way Daffney and several other wrestlers were treated during their time in TNA does contradict that don’t you think? If Dixie was such a “Caring mom” why didn’t she help out Daffney like she helped Jesse Sordensen?

Dixie is a wrestling legend in her own right, as the comment reads she gives an alternative to Mainstream wrestling, and TNA is certainly picking up steam around the world, ten years ago I hadn’t even heard of it, today its playing on international TV all the way in NZ, an amazing testament.
