Spoilers for next Thursday’s Impact:
hope she get one she deserves it. she was pushed aside for Mickie
Congratulations TNA for reading and agreeing. At least someone there has some common sense! I said recently that Madison Rayne was ‘still’ being way overpushed, and what do they do, they job her out clean on PPV to Gail Kim.
I like it. Why? Because Gail is a far better worker, far better athlete and actually used Madison a bit during the feud to hone her character and bitchiness quotient. We may be seeing the true golden run of Gail Kim, her fulfilling her potential, and for TNA fans and any ‘chick wrestling’ fans that is a blessing. She has dues over Madison and almost anyone else too and she deserves it. Now they’re moving predictably (and hopefully they take some swerves along the way, seeing as tho the ladies are moving the ratings dial) toward the Credibility+Dues monster, Gail, versus their big face and ratings-puller Velvet.
VS also has paid her dues as well and I’m hopeful they blow this feud out bigtime — an assist from Karen Jarrett would be invaluable to help fill in any cracks in generating heat from these two. That’s especially after Velvet has been more direction-less than a top babyface should be and Gail got a lot of help feeding off of/one-upping Madison in their feud. The “light” went off for Gail and that’s special, at the same time, they need to capitalize quickly and forcefully w/ an interesting, focused, 2 person (the only third wheel that should be allowed there is Karen) heated feud. *clap* for TNA…
meh…..i´m waiting for Sarita to have a chance…
it’s about time somebody else said it
Winter never got a rematch against Velvet
Air-Bourne Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 5:55 pm
Velvet only held the title for like 5 minutes.

RayneWoman Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 9:43 pm
Whoops, yeah, you are right.
Velvet deserves it, how can TNA build credible homegrown knockouts if they keep pushing former WWE Diva’s over their own talent. TNA bring in former Diva’s and push them solely based on their status in mainstream wrestling and their runs in WWE, it’s ridiculous.

No Holds Barred Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 7:10 pm
um Velvet isnt homegrown talent. Do you know what homegrown even means? Traci is the only homegrown Knockout.
Velvet was in the Diva Search before TNA, which I bet is how they noticed it.
Air-Bourne Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 10:33 pm
Yes i do know what homegrown means you condescending moron. So what she was in the Diva search? Was she signed to a WWE contract or sent to developmental? Was she on the main roster? NO! Her recognition, her character development and her skills have evolved since she has been in TNA, she will forever be associated with TNA NOT WWE.
Jhonmarco Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 10:36 pm
LOL so by this logic ODB, Angelina, etc. aren’t homegrown talent at all?
Air-Bourne Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 10:44 pm
ODB was never signed to a contract by the WWE. Angelina competed in TNA before WWE, she may have been signed to a developmental deal for 3 years but as with Velvet she never rose to prominence until she was in TNA, they built her character, they gave her screen time and they gave her the accolades.
Jhonmarco Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 10:58 pm
That was a sarcastic response to No Holds Barred.
Completely agree with you though.
Air-Bourne Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 11:14 pm
Oh sorry LOL, i thought that but then i wasn’t sure. And thanks at least i know it’s not just me haha
YES, YES, YES, YES! Thank you TNA now put the title on Velvet & all will be good again. TNA slowly but surely you’re making me a fan again. Just get rid of EY, he needs to go…
Hopefully Gail fends Velvet off, I can see her holding the title for another few months. I’d rather Gail drop the title to Sarita, via interference from Sarita, I think that would be a lot more interesting!
Jhonmarco Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 6:33 pm
Damn, how long do you want to have her as champ, 8, 9 months?
Air-Bourne Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 7:14 pm
To be honest i’d rather have someone like Gail being recognised as the longest reigning KO champion in History instead of Madison.
VarsityBaseDude Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 3:19 am
Gail should be champ for a year. Have her as the one to beat! Let Siralda beat her or someone within TNA, but make it a memorable match. Gail can then take a break (with her wedding and all) and come back to regain the title again.
Velvet is probly the 3rd worst wrestler on the roster in front of Brooke and Rosita at this moment in time (this isn’t a dig at them but at this stage in their career its the truth) . i appreciate the fact that Vekvet is a big face but with better wrestlers available why is she involved in the title picture again?
Air-Bourne Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 7:26 pm
Because she is fantastic on the mic, has good in-ring skills and the crowd love her. She also has undeniable sex appeal and being the underdog is what she does best, it worked for her when she was feuding with Sarita, it worked when she won the title at BFG and it will continue to work in the future until she is fully established as a credible champion. TNA have put to much effort into Velvet just to throw it all away, she has more reason than anyone to be in the title picture considering she was “screwed” out of her title which took her 4 years to achieve and received no rematch. So i really don’t know where your logic is coming from as it is painfully clear that having Velvet compete for the title would have a far better pay off than Tara or Mickie.
gingerjaffa Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 8:03 pm
i will try to justify myself by making points about what you said 1) she is undeniably good on the mic i cnt agrue with you there 2) her inring skills are the 3rd worst in the company in my opinion and nowhere near champion quality (which is the most important point) 3)she does have sex appeal (but so do other knockouts) who are better in the ring 4) she is booked as an underdog because she can take a bump but has a very poor offensive range and is limmited to closelines and strikes 5) the storyline with sarita was good but the inring matches were lacking, due to Velvet being carried through them 6) and BFG was possibly the worst knockouts match of the year mostly due to Karen Jarrett to be fair
gingerjaffa Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 8:07 pm
Final point) if i had to recommend a 5 knockouts to a friend and say “this is why TNA has the best female wrestlers in the buisness” Velvet Sky would definently be one of them
gingerjaffa Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 8:32 pm
*Velvet Sky wouldn’t be one of them
Air-Bourne Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 9:48 pm
Nowhere near champion quality? I see your point but that could be argued. Velvet has incorporated a number of new moves in her arsenal in the last year and her selling has always been good but now her offense is now a lot more effective and consistent and she has been having a lot of good matches recently. Velvet has the strongest sex appeal in TNA IMO, the crowd obviously think it and who can blame them her entrance is all about the T&A. She may not be the most skilled but in terms of character development Velvet is easily the most connectable and she is more over than Mickie James which is definitely saying something. She is lacking in certain areas compared to other Knokout’s but business wise it makes sense.
gingerjaffa Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 10:11 pm
I understand your point and we will have to agree to disagree. i find it hard to enjoy a product when the champion is not as good as the challangers. i’m not sure if you watch FCW but they have the same problem with Raquel Diaz as the champion. She is great on the mic but the worst wrestler in the promotion thus the story and build is good but end payoff(match) is poor and it really puts a downer on the division in general. it’s like having Kelly Kelly beat Beth Pheonix .Not very believable.
igotthatpma123 Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 12:20 am
Its like having Kobe Bryant who is known all around the world excellent on the court and telling him we’re not going to push you as our top star your going to be in the background while this not so very good player gets all the shine and glory( velvet sky would be the not so very good player) hell you have Mickie James on your roster you have Sarah fucking stock on your roster if they wanted to push a girl who has sex appeal and a nicer ass and whose green as grass you have Brooke tessmacher.
Oh poor Madison. Not fair!!! She deserves her rematch!! Maybe if she lost her rematch, then Velvet can take the chance. I hope Madison isn’t depushed. It’s great Velvet is getting a win, but COME ON PEOPLE!!! IMO, Madison deserves her rematch against Gail. Not lose a match, get a rematch.
RayneWoman Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 8:31 pm
And for the people saying that Madison doesn’t deserve a rematch, I have a question. Why doesn’t she deserve it? Give me any reason instead of ‘She sucks!’,'She doesn’t have the skills’, and ‘she is ugly’, and ‘she is overpushed’ when clearly she isn’t.
Air-Bourne Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 9:39 pm
Because rematches are usually for competitors who lose their championship, Madison became number one contender and lost her opportunity therefore she is now equal to the rest of the Knockouts. I wouldn’t mind Madison getting a rematch if she earns it such as defeating Gail or winning a No. 1 contenders match but right now she is just as deserving as everyone else. Tara and Velvet Sky never got a rematch so why should she be any different unless she earns it.
RayneWoman Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 10:44 pm
On a second thought, you have a point. Maybe if Velvet beats Gail, then Madison can beat Velvet and take the title from her. Yeah, that makes more sense.
Awesome!! Love it(: Velvet is finally getting Her rematch!!! Lockdown will indeed have the Pigieons let loose.. Lol! And maybe there will b backstage stuff 2(:
Meh hopefully this will either lead to a proper fued where Gail sticks with just Velvet for a few months instead of moving accross each woman for every month as she has been doing… or she beats Velvet, and then Sarita and Rosita can go after her possibly. If not that then have Gail open an open chalenge for the title like Kong & Madison done in their previous title reigns and just bring back old faces (Alissa Flash, Roxxi) or maybe new faces (Leva Bates, Taeler Hendrix)
Sorry but Velvet is AWFUL! Everyone pokes fun at Kelly when I see her WAY ahead of Velvet wrestling wise! Why does she get so much HYPE??? Her promos are annoying I personally feel as well. Her as a character, just bugs me to no end.
Megumi Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 6:19 am
To be blatantly honest, I can’t really fathom how anybody would consider Kelly Kelly a better wrestler than Velvet Sky. I mean, not to give in a typical punchline, but the big difference here is that Velvet Sky knows how to run the ring ropes. If she bugs you as a character, that doesn’t really have much to do with her acting ability, which has always been quite good.
I find her character now stale, but it was almost impossible to bore with her when it came to her Beautiful Person persona. The plethora of promos she had back then was amazing and she rocks that heel role.
I honestly think people poke more fun at Kelly Kelly because, though Velvet is NOT by any means a great in-ring worker, she IS a good wrestler, meaning she has the rest of the credentials on point. Kelly Kelly hasn’t shown that yet.
No Holds Barred Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 7:14 pm
How has Kelly not ahown she is a good in-ring worker? You clearly haven’t seen her matches against Layla or Michelle, heck, in 2008 and 2009 she really impressed in her matches, and in 2010 when she was on Smackdown
AdrianRay Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 9:57 pm
Velvet run the ropes? I think not. Sorry, Kelly still works OVERALL better in the ring. Also, I’m not some WWE fan that only roots for anything and everything WWE.
I dont want her as champ again. Like I’ve said 20 times before, I’d rather have somebody like angelina, sarita, Tara, Madison, or even brooke (she has improved very much, in a short amount of time). I just cant buy into velvet, tbh. I liked her more as a heel, she was better. But I’ll take what they give me. She better have a good reign though.
as longas Gail drops the title top Vevet , Sarita , Tara or Angelina ! More or so Tara. Although I would like to see Velvet get at least a decent regin …
As much as I like Velvet and her “pigeons”, I do not want to see Gail losing to Velvet. Velvet should go for the tag titles and not the KO title. The best way to push this is to have Velvet destroyed. In the end, when Velvet looks to be securing the title, Mickie comes to congratulate her early and then destroy her while Gail looks on with confusion. Madison attacks Gail from behind. There, you have two feuds with Gail being a tweener and Mickie going heel.
EveLover Reply:March 21st, 2012 at 11:58 pm
I like that. I wouldn’t mind having it.
VarsityBaseDude Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 3:17 am
I hope so too. Who knows where they’ll go with it considering for the next week or two, we won’t even be seeing Gail/Madison. At least not from the spoilers. *Crossing fingers*
EveLover Reply:March 22nd, 2012 at 1:42 pm
Hopefully they’ll get some backstage segments to progress their storyline, if they’re still going to feud.
VarsityBaseDude Reply:March 23rd, 2012 at 2:14 am
I agree. I’m thinking they will do a backstage segment for Gail. Two weeks in a row she nor Madison shows up. Hopefully we see something tonight for them. I don’t think it’s over between the two.
Velvet *yawn* I’d rather Sarita/Traci get a push than this boring girl. Traci deserves it more than Velvet.
I think TNA needs another Knockout or 2, we need a tag team feud that isnt crap
i dont dislike VS but i dont love or rate her highly either. From the spoiler it should move forwards with Gail retaining the title against velvet.
at this min i dont know who i want to see as the new contender (maybe traci) but i would like to see a return from any of -: heel mickie? TBP? or karen jarrett.
