Welcome to Diva Dirt’s This Week in History, where each week we’ll take a look back at some of the most memorable moments in women’s wrestling from years gone by.
So, join us in taking a trip down memory lane…
April 19th, 2009 | Here’s another Knockouts “Six Sides of Steel” match, this time at Lockdown 2009. Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong took on both Angelina Love and Taylor Wilde inside the cage, putting her 12-month title reign on the line. Alliances were built, broken and rebuilt throughout the course of the match, but it was some accidental aid from Kong that allowed Angelina to pin Taylor and win the Knockouts Title. Kong went postal, turning the term “rage in the cage” into something quite literal.
What are your memories of this classic moment? Tell us in the comments…
