“Your Two Cents” is our interactive feature where we gauge the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers on different discussions in women’s wrestling.

This week, we’re asking this: The WWE has been taping overseas the past few days, so we want to know: who do you think is the greatest non-American female wrestler currently in the business? We’ve read your responses on our social media pages and picked some of the best submissions to highlight here on the website. As always, you can join the debate by leaving your comments!

Our Two Cents

Batting for Team DD this week, it’s Steven giving us her personal opinion on this week’s topic:

Steven: Hands down, the best non-American female wrestler is Ayako Hamada, in my opinion. I’ve had the honor of seeing her wrestle live on several occasions and I’m never disappointed. Every time she steps in the ring, she gives 110% and makes it look effortless.

Your Two Cents

@EveTorresJr | Layla! Although she is billed from Miami, she was born in London, England! She’s incredible, so charismatic and funny. She has great in-ring skills and she is amazing on the mic.
@ItsRiskyBitch | While there’s many foreign veterans, I have to say Britani Knight because she is obviously uber talented, beautiful & the future!
Jamie Laird | Layla and Sarita as well as Madison Eagles and Angelina Love.
Josue Guzman | Hands down: Aja Kong. She has put on some unbelievable matches in her native land of Japan, was a monstrous heel who would just brutalized her opponents and even served as an icon to fellow wrestler Sara Del Rey.
@KatieFJ07 | Well I would have to say one of the best workers thats non-American would be Britani Knight. I think she’s awesome to watch in the ring and I love that she’s been doing this since she was basically a kid. I loved the work in the indies and I think she’s doing great in FCW, I can’t wait until she gets called up to the main roster and see matches with the likes of Natalya, Beth Phoenix, Eve Torres, Kharma, and Layla.
Martin Bentley | Madison Eagles, Kana and Portia Perez are high on the list.
@pikatrick | In the Joshi community, I’m a big fan of Ayako Hamada, Makoto, and Cherry. Otherwise Jessie McKay does it for me. Total package!

And now we turn it over to you…

As Ron Simmons would say, (long, epic pause) — DAMN. I literally was going to post about the exact same thing. I’m both super impressed and disappointed to be a copycat. But the truth and objectivity are way more important than the credit, so kudos to MIKAS here. For the Cherry (*ahem*) I’d add her, Aja and maybe a few others – WAY too many to mention and it’s more about the cream of the crop all-around. This is truth and right on. (bow)

Angelina Love in my opinion is the best female wrestler period.
I think she is incredibly underrated. I rarely see her botch, she can deliver promos , she is beautiful (even though that doesn’t make her a better wrestler). As well as 1/2 of my personal favorite stable ever.

    Poison_Ivory Reply:

Angelina is hugely underrated. People really see her as a mediocre wrestler, which is a shame because she is actually a great wrestler. I like to think her as the (=my) Trish of TNA.

    Choko Reply:

Angelina is actually more impressive than Trish wrestling wise.

Hamada is technically Mexican, although of Japenese lineage. I think she was underutilized during TNA, although it did help get her exposure on a mainstream level. I agree that Angelina is one of the best Canadian females there is (I know the Trish marks will start…)

I think to say Brittani Knight/Paige is the best female at the age of 19 is a bit of an overstatement, many people have seen a few things from FCW and everyone else just jumps on the bandwagon of her being an indy girl in the WWE. Saraya on the other hand (Brittani had to learn from somewhere) I beleive has only just began to get the exposure she deserves in wrestling, despite being a veteran. Other than that Madison Eagles is definately one of the finest from Down Under and Wesna Busic was great during her day.

    Looking Glass Reply:

I forgot to say Sarita in all that!

  6. Shanna and Britani Knight. I love both of them and I love their wrestling style, and tbh they’re both HOT!

MANAMI TOYOTA <3 Nobody tops her as my fav/best non-american wrestless <33

Also, I gotta name Aurora Flame, since she's a Finn like me :) Plus I like her style

    Poison_Ivory Reply:

Oh dear god, did I really say “wrestless” .. Lmaoo

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

I like Aurora! But Jenny Sjodin > Aurora Flame :P

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

Manami is definitely the best of all time :)

    Poison_Ivory Reply:

Yea Jenny is better. :D Much, much better. And she’s made it to US indies.

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

I don’t ever remember Jenny wrestling in the US :I

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

Hey, I was wondering if you’ve ever seen Sara Elektra too, I was curious as to how she is in the ring.

I’m taking it you’re actually from Finland, so where could I watch some FCF matches online if you know?

    Poison_Ivory Reply:

Then I remembered that wrong. I had this weird feeling I mixed her with someone else. Hmm.

FCF stopped broadcasting on TV almost 5 years ago. and the only matches I’ve seen, apart from live events, are some random clips shown when they are interviewing one of the women once in a while. Plus of course FCF’s YouTube channel, there’s a few matches.

Sara’s pretty decent, considering she only started last year. Quite green, basic moves. But she def. has potential

Too many to list. Here are my picks though:

Madison Eagles, the Ninjas, LuFisto, Ayako Hamada, Manami Toyota, Aja Kong, Evie, Saraya Knight, & Ayumi Kurihara.

Mentions to Misaki Ohata, Tomoka Nakagawa, Hiroyo Matsumoto, Kana, Yumi Ohka, Jessie McKay, & Britani Knight.

    Jhonmarco Reply:

Oh & who could forget Wesna Busic? Such a hard-hitter, a shame about her retirement. The matches she could’ve had in Shimmer? Oh my god I can’t even begin to think of that.

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

Ugh I know! Shame she got injured, plus now, she’s married to Ahmed Chaer and I heard she had a kid.

    Choko Reply:

eehh… excuse me lol. I didn’t read the whole article. I thought it was an “all time” thing.

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

In that case, there would a lot more women to list and Bull would be on that list. She was one of the best!

    Jhonmarco Reply:

    Hailey’s technically American.

Damn, did you just list most of the women currently working?

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

Ah, well she lives in Japan so I listed her

Pretty much all the talented women not from/living in the USA :P

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

Didn’t mean to add Mia in there, I had a list of talented women I copied and pasted and forgot to delete her.

    Jhonmarco Reply:

Despite the long list, I agree with it.

Evie really need to branch out to North America soon. Girl is the best in New Zeland. Instantly loved her after her match with Kellie Skater at PWWA’s September 3rd show. Shimmer debut please?

    lbthewrestlingnerd Reply:

I would love that! Best female in NZ for sure! I haven’t seen any of the men wrestle though. I wish it was easier to find NZ wrestling.

Evie definitely needs to come to SHIMMER!
