Former WWE Divas and Women’s Champions Melina and Mickie James are set to reignite their classic feud in WWE when they face off once again on June 30th for Puerto Rico’s World Wrestling Council.
The former rivals battled intensely over the WWE Women’s Championship during their careers in WWE, and hold the record for being the second and third women, respectively, in company history to hold both the WWE Women’s and Divas Titles.
Their match will be part of WWC’s annual anniversary extravaganza, “Anniversario 2012″. The match takes place on June 30th at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
Since being released by WWE in April 2010, Mickie found success in TNA where she has held the Knockouts Championship on two occasions. Melina, released last August, has wrestled on various occasions including live on Internet pay per view for WSU.

I know. I honestly thought these two should have been the diva’s match at that year’s Wrestlemania. Their feud got like halted just to push Ashley, which sucked.

I was pissed when that happened! Ashley could’ve been saved for after. If they were given the chance to perform at ‘mania, they would’ve put on a show stealing match. These two were at the top of their game at the time. Not to mention they had the crowd in the palm of their hands.

Wrestling wise – the Mickie/Melina feud wasn’t that great. It was right after a lot of things Trish and Lita did and we were still kind of spoiled from that era of wrestling. Melina was also very sloppy as a heel performer when she started wrestling again on RAW and I never liked the matches she had with Mickie.
But character-wise, it was pretty good.

Really? Their match at Backlash was one of the best diva matches I’ve ever seen. The wrestling between the two was a lot more solid than Trish/Lita IMO.

I thought Mickie/Melina was a good feud with good matches. The falls count anywhere and the match at Backlash were great. In all honesty though, I think the WWE could have gotten even more out of it than they did.

Exactly what Redsandman99 said. The trish/Lita feud was better because wwe reached its full potential. With melina/mickie we didn’t see that happen. Reason remains a mystery.
As far as their matches go, IMO mickie & melina were both better in-ring workers, in their prime, than trish/lita. I dont know why but I always thought that.

No, no, no – I loved their match at Backlash. But that’s the only match between them that I know of that was particular good. The only match out of that whole feud which was good.
Yes, there was ton of brawling and good character-angles but I never really found Melina to have good matches in her early heel/RAW career. On Smackdown, she had a few good ones with Christy Hemme, Jillian and even one with Trish Stratus at that PPV.
To me, Melina started to wrestle better when she begun her feud with Beth Phoenix. Than after that, she got much better as face and than back to heel again.

Melina’s first heel run on RAW was memorable mainly because of the out-of-ring segments and character angles. She was not in her prime – whatever that even means since she has better matches later in her career and later in her age.
It wasn’t that long ago and I remember tons of people on the board at this site alone dogging her work because it deteriorated at that time. All she did was resort to hair-pulling, screaming and slapping. Once, Torrie Wilson even carried her through a match.
So that’s what I meant. I’m not going to sit her and forget she sucked just because I happen to like her. LOL

they had the best feud since Trish and Lita, also their chemistry together was so damn awesome. They made it seem like they really hated each other (I think they did at that point) and yeah, they also connected really nicely with the crowd.

Mickie and Melina became friends in real life kind of like the same time they became friends on TV. Somewhere in 2008, that was when pictures of them partying together and such were online at first. I think they became friends in 2007.
Melina has even been to some Mickie James concerts in the past. They are friends.
Angelina is probably on her way out of TNA, also like EVELOVER said, Brooke and Angelina can be professional. By the way, Melina is more marketable than both of them combined. It wouldn’t be a huge loss for TNA if Brooke and Angelina would leave for Melina.

Yeah they had bad blood during OVW, but from what I’ve heard that’s all cleared up.
Sorry, but I’d rather have Tessmacher or a new talent over Melina. Girls like her have had that mainstream exposure for half a decade, I’d much prefer seeing her in the indies. Therre are plenty of women who could benefit from the TV time more than Melina.

Melina herself has said that the fur boot thing was never true, and the same has been said by Brooke. Like @No holds barred said, I have heard that Melina confronted Brooke or Kelly and told them off on something and thats how the problems started. Also Layla and Melina were friends I remember, so Melina only had problems with 1/3 of Extreme Expose.
Also Brooke leaved WWE because she was going to settle down with her BF.

To be honest, why are old issues being brought up in the comments? It’s also kind of funny that Melina is automatically blamed. We don’t know what happened and no, dirt sheets do not qualify as reliable informants… so please don’t try to prove anything with what they say.
With the Brooke situation, Brooke has confirmed that the two don’t like each other… but she also said it wasn’t over boots. She obviously didn’t have nice things to say about Melina, but that is only one side of the story. It amazes me how fast people will jump on Melina and blame her, immediately. Am I saying Melina is a perfect little angel? No, she has even admitted that she isn’t. But that doesn’t mean she is this bitch that everyone has brought her up to be. Point blank, there are two sides to every story… and Melina’s side is almost never heard, so we don’t know what the beef is between the girls and to be frank, we don’t need to know.
