Former Divas Champion Beth Phoenix suffered an ankle injury during her match on Raw last night, reports WWE.com.
Phoenix, who lost her title to Nikki Bella in a lumberjill match last night, was visibly seen injured on last night’s broadcast, limping during the match.
WWE doctor Michael Sampson told the website: “It looks like she affected her anterior talofibular ligament, which is the most common injured ankle ligament on an inversion injury. She has some swelling, [and] she’s having a hard time walking or ambulating on it. We’re going to need an MRI just to make sure there’s nothing else going on and see how we can treat it – if we need surgery or if we can do it conservatively.”

I have mixed feelings on the injury, after the match they closed up on Beth and Emphasized “It just twisted” while she was crying a lot, but when she tore her ACL in 2010 (I think thats what she did?) she wasnt crying when that injury is a lot more serious, the crying came off as a bit too over the top to be real, but there are other incidents in the match that point towards it being a legit injury

Yeah, did anyone notice how Tamina stopped Brie when Brie tried to jump on Beth at first? She was probably worried for Beth.

You could tell the divas had no idea what to do they all jumped on her so they could huddle and whisper ok what is the next step i honestly dont think Nikki was supposed to win tonight but this sets up Kharma return take the belt from Bellas turn heel kill the divas Beth return as face to save the day cause heel Beth vs Face Kharma would have been awkward

Believe me, spraining your ankle definitely hurts – I did mine on my birthday in January 2010. I was crying immediately after it happened, mainly because of the pain – if I moved my foot slightly, I was swearing blue murder.
Anyway, I hope Beth recovers soon :)

I think they might have planned it without telling the other divas or something…look at how the other divas just stopped coming around to get beth,it wasn’t until she was moving again that brie came to get beth…
if it is a real injury then i wish her a speedy recovery…hopefully kharma & layla can return & carry the division until shes back….

Sucks that Beth is hurt. You can tell that it is really though if it was fake Beth would have done everything to try and get herself in the ring when Brie tried to throw her back in it, sure if the injury was fake Beth would have sold that and helped Brie pull her in the ring but she didn’t.
I also believe the match would have went longer if she wasn’t injured. But then again this could be fake as WWE.Com have reported things like this in the past to just cover up something.

Fake? Real? Could go either way at this point.
There was a story that came out from one of the main wrestling websites immediately after the match saying it was fake.
It looked real with how Beth was reacting, but the way the ref reacted was a bit fishy.

I knew it was legit the moment Beth landed on it, you can see Brie came round the corner to perform her spot and Tamina visibly puts up her hand to call her off for a moment!!! :/

Im hearing its Kayfabe due to Kharma returning and wwe didnt want Kharma to beat beth for the title. So they slapped it on the bellas to continue their fued from last year and Beth might return as a face and fued with Kharma.
Personally If they are going with this Im glad Face Beth vs Heel Kharma is much better than a Face Kharma and Heel Beth. So hopefully things go as planned ro what was said…Maybe Beth will be face again who knows team back up with Natalya leaving us in the dry once more on a Natalya vs Beth fued…oh well in due time I hope.

It was a work, the referee never threw up the X and they made a big deal of making sure they caught Beth and the referee talking moment before the roll-up. When someone is injured in WWE, they don’t immediately release an article about it, plus with the rumours that the Bellas won so that Kharma could return it just makes sense that it’s all kayfabe. WWE wouldn’t wasted Beth vs. Kharma on the first match, lord we’ve waited for Beth vs. Natalya for the past six years.
