She’s backkk!
The flawless Layla returned to the ring after nearly a year of inactivity due to injury and captured the Divas Title from Nikki Bella on her first night back.
Layla, who was injured at this very pay per view last year during a physical match with former BFF Michelle McCool, has been recovering from a torn ACL and MCL since May 2011.
Returning to the ring, Layla defeated the odds being stacked against her as Nikki and sister Brie tried to cheat several times during the contest. Ultimately, the Bellas’ patented Twin Magic backfired as, after Nikki switched places with Brie, Layla hit her Lay-Out finisher on Brie for the win.
As reported earlier, Beth Phoenix was pulled from the match continuing her injury angle with Executive Administrator Eve Torres revealing that she wasn’t cleared to compete.
Layla makes history as the first British woman to hold the Divas Championship. She also made history as the first British Women’s Champion.

People the plan was to have a heel beat Beth, Nikki (Heel) beat Beth, I think wwe wants Beth to be face when she Faces Kharma and this kinda turned Beth Face, Layla is the gail Kim to Kharma, Kharma will dominate until someone powerfull enough steps up (Beth). I really hope Im right and Im sure Kharma will def send the Bellas off and have an epic feud with Layla.

in wwe.com it says that layla is a 2 time divas champ and former womens champ… confused.. layla being divas champ with michelle wasnt official

Congrats to Layla although I can’t say I’m excited. This just brings back my discontent from the overexposure of Laycool. It just kind of feels like we’re right back where we were the last two years, where Divas get one or two week reigns before Laycool takes it back like they’re Blockbuster & the belt is a DVD.
I’m intrigued to see where this goes. A feud with the twins? Beth? Both?
Also, love Kharma trolling. I know I fell for it.

Happy Flawless days are here again finally.
I am personally glad not just because it is Layla but because THIS MAKES SENSE.
This allows the division to have flexability this allows the division to actually be able to do things , now when Kharma comes back she has her pick of the litter does she go after the champion right away etc.
This presents a much broader scope and a better outlook for the divison with Layla as the header because as seen tonight woman is on gawd damn point and she is charismatic and pretty good on the mic.
Some folk need to take off the rose tinted glasses and stop lookin at it being good for one individual or match…this scenario is the best for the division as a whole.

stop complaining we all now when theres a mistery oponent or a return, the mistery oponent (or return) always win, in this case layla was both mistery oponent and returning talent so it was obvious that she was going to win, on the first place if kharma wasnt going to be the one facing the bellas nikki should have never won the title :/

Layla got a great pop, plus “We Want Kharma” Chants, wwe is going with this storyline great, and glad to finally see a smackdown diva hold the championship. Also wwe is smart for making Beth have a kayfabe injury, Dont rush into Beth vs Kharma.

Also I see like this tomorrow how it starts.
Eve wants revenge on Layla so she books a championship match against Kharma and Layla looses obviously, Eve comes out and laughs her ass off and says welcome back. The backs away cuz Kharma tries to grab her,
Then Kharma get a filler feud with the Smackdown girls (I really want to see AJ vs Kharma) or the Belle Twins
so that way we get 2 storylines at the same time

Not happy with this at all. As stupid as it sounds this ruined Layla’s return for me but I guess that happens when your favorite losses the title in 6 days.

I have a feeling that it might possibly was supposed to have been Kharma that came out but after the news got out the WWE changed the plan. I think this definitely points to the Bellas leaving after tomorrow, in which case they can lose the rematch to Layla and then Kharma takes them out after (if she is set to return anyway).

I love Layla i really do, but surprise or not, Kharma should of returned tonight, the were building up to it, and the crowd would of legit gone ecstatic (rock level).
So i just hope tomorrow Kharma returns and the crowd is as good as it was tonight.

The Kharma tease was perfect! Why? To make Layla a surprise. Otherwise, everyone would guess it was Layla. Besides, as much as I want to see Kharma. Absolutely everyone saw that coming. Now Kharma’s debut can be a bit more of a surprise.

Layla’s time to shine is Hur baby! Words cannot express how happy I am for her she came such a ong way since Lay-Cool and now is her time. Yes Layla was in line for a push be4 her injury everyone knows that so there shouldnt be no complaning.

Even I love layla to the bone, I must say that I always disliked it when all of sudden someone that has dropped outside of the roster, takes the number one contendership immediately, skipping all the others on the ladder and picks up the title.
They could had let Beth get her rematch, then make her lose due to twin magic OR if they wanted to pass the divas title because the Twins are indeed leaving, then bring up the next one in line to pick it up, then after the match let layla come out, cut a promo and challenge the winner.
It would had more progression, would start a small feud till Beth can compete (in case she is indeed injured) OR bring back kharma in a triple threat and let her take out layla and the other girl.
Heck, it would had been even better to bring out kharma since she already had a storyline with the bellas and make a 1 vs 2 out of the match.
Having layla come out of the blue and win the championship was off no matter if she deserves it or not.
I gave the match a 4 cause both girls worked it beautifully and Brie sold the hell out of the Layout.
Sad the Bellas are indeed going if that should be the case. :(
