On this day in history:
May 1st, 2011 | Layla and Michelle McCool, once thick as thieves, met at 2011′s Extreme Rules in a match that was destined to split them for good: a “Loser Leaves Town” match. The duo formerly known as Lay-Cool did battle, and the ending was bittersweet: Layla defeated Michelle and cried when she realized what that meant. Michelle cried too, left alone in the middle of the ring as the fans sang the common “goodbye” refrain. Soon, though, she had more to cry about than the end of her career: Kharma‘s music suddenly played, and the debuting Diva came upon Michelle like she was a trapped rat, decimating her with an Implant Buster. Hell of a farewell gift, wasn’t it?

I miss Kharma. Michelle, not so much.

A wonderful night for the divas. Michelle/Layla was good, but to no one’s shock the crowd was DEAD. Kudos to Michelle though for putting Kharma & Layla over on her final night in WWE.

Not really. They reacted to Kharma, I can’t blame them for being dead for the match. Laycool sucked the heat out of any building, thus this reaction.

Not necessarily Kelly’s wins against her were mostly perceived as “flukes”. Whereas Natalya and Maryse went over Michelle clean on numerous occasions and both defeated her for championship gold.

@TIBERNAL What are you talking about? Beth put tons of divas over. Kelly, Eve, Alicia. Beth constanly put Kelly over during their feud.

i miss laycool!!! i really miss michelle, she was my favorite diva and her void is still present in wwe.
this match was great and there was just so much emotion here, michelle’s emotions at the end did make me wanna cry, and laylas emotions were true too, and this match was memorable. but stupid crowd was dead!
and hello to kharma, i marked like crazy wen kharma came out!
unfortunatly her run didnt last long that year, but i hope she does return soon, wen shes emotionally ready.

If only this was how The Bellas went out!! I miss Kharma soooo much… I so ready for her return! I understand why she would want to take her time given what has happened to her.
