Layla vs Beth Phoenix at ‘Over the Limit’ PPV
WWE has announced via its website that Divas Champion Layla will defend the belt against Beth Phoenix, who just a couple of weeks ago held the title.
Beth never did cash in her rematch against Nikki Bella, the Diva she lost the belt to, so it certainly makes sense for her to cash in her shot against the new champion.
The storyline between the pair started via WWE.com this past weekend with Beth commenting on Layla’s return. She said: “I’m going to bust her other knee, and make sure that she goes away and never comes back. She has no idea what she has gotten herself into.”
Layla made her return after nearly year of absence at Extreme Rules, winning the Divas Title in her first match back.
Layla was out of action with a torn ACL and MCL. Coincidentally, a year before Layla’s injury, Beth suffered an ACL tear, also.

I know it will be a great match but I wish they would have sold Beth kayfabe "Injury" some more , and went with someone else.

Well that’s cool. I hope it is a good match with alot of time. But if they are v.s. each other than Beth has to win….otherwise how will Beth look going against Kharma if she looses to someone much smaller than her? ?

what should happen is Layla targeting the ankle and forcing the ref to stop the match cz beth cant continue, so beth will be out of action since her injury got worse, but with no apparent challenger to layla’s championship, i think it’s gonna be AJ , which is cool (like on just 1 ppv) and then we’ll have kharma come back and feud with layla, take the championship, feud with kelly, and then maybe someone else till beth is “ready” to come back from injury !

Totally agree. I see her injury being aggravated giving Layla the win and “taking Beth out of action”. Perhaps even Kharma finally returning.

Dont really see this feud lasting longer than this one match. Likely Kharma will return and take out Beth, which will eventually lead to Beth returning a few months down the line and everyone will get the feud we’ve been longing for.

I’d honestly take either. Its sad though because even if the WWE chose to go through with one they likely wouldn’t invest enough time or effort into the feud to make it memorable.

I also hope they give layla her own entrance music her current one “Not enough for me” was original Torrie Wilson and then Michelle McCool and use in LayCool and now Layla talk about recycling :P

I hope Beth will Still NOT be cleared to wrestle and than Cue KHARMA. Because honestly it is still a little early for Beth to come back yet…but that’s just my feeling

Yeah she should really change her finisher it is really Not that powerful /impactful looking. I hated the move when she first used it ….its just a bad finisher IMO

Right on, I was shocked (in a good way) when she broke that move out on Melina. Melina sold it like a champ, an the move looked awesome.
I would not go as far as to say her neckbreaker looks weak. The layout is alright, but moreso that the face lift is sweet.

Layout looks devastating when it’s done right, but overall, it’s a very anticlimactic finisher. The Face Lift would be a great finisher to get behind.

I have a feeling the more fans relish the expectation of Kharma to return they will keep swerving it until it feels entirely random.
Anything could happen here, because Beth’s “injury” feels ambiguous at this point. Maybe Beth Phoenix dominates Layla until another freak accident writes her off TV for good. Or maybe Eve prohibits Beth from competing again and summons a new opponent, maybe even interject herself unsuccessfully.

This actually makes sense and they spent some time on RAW putting it over! Sure the match got no time as usual, but look at the positives!
These two could have a great match given some time on PPV. Although I don’t want Beth to get pinned, I don’t want Layla to lose either. Shenanigans?

I think this match could be great. On one hand I dont necessarily want either competitor to lose. I do want this match to get some length. Beth should bring the best out of Layla,and Layla is quite capable by herself. Cannot wait to see it.

Most Likely They’ll Get 6-7 Minutes I Know This Will Be A Good Match They Proved In The Past That They Can Put On An Entertaining Match I Have No Doubt In My Mind That This Will Be A Good Match. And As Much As I Love Beth I Hope Layla Can Retain The Title.

If the plan was for Kharma to return at ER to destroy the Bella’s i can see her returning this sunday, she will probably go for Layla, then Beth will get involved , then she will take out Beth (hence “re-injuring” beth) so Kharma has time to feud with Layla and eventually turn her heel during the process, then a face Beth can return to the start the food

As long as they get an ample ammount of time , they will not dissapoint.
One thing I loved is that when Layla and beth had their little staredown I loved that look Layla gave as if to say ,
“yea before I used to be afraid but now bring it on bitch”.
Hopefully they get a good 7min or so match not including entrances , because both ladies can go and considering how much better Layla has gotten…lookin real forward to it.

hummmm,still the best option would be Beth not being cleared to wrestle again,but using the same excuse for two staright ppvs would be lame.
so,assuming that the match really takes place,your option is a valid one.
but then after there couldn´t be no Kharma,unless for a staredown.
