The Divas Championship remains firmly around the waist of new champion Layla, proving her mettle in her first super competitive match since returning from a serious ACL and MCL injury.
Layla and Beth Phoenix battled in a solid match with the Glamazon paying particular focus to Layla’s injured knee. The Divas Champ took her licks, but ultimately managed to take the victory with her patented Lay-Out neckbreaker.
The match is the first time since her return that Layla has had to perform in a highly competitive match and looked as though she hadn’t skipped a beat in the ring.
Will Beth and Layla do battle once more? Should they? Tell us what you think in the comments & rate the match below!

Disappointing match considering the two involved, both seemed a little off. If I took one positive from the match it was that Beth finally ditched the skirt.

Yea there was some kind of awkwardness and a lack of chemistry between the two.

Yeah i also think that kelly and beth has a of lot chemistry than layla vs beth.

Beth’s back to pants thank you. I loved the match except the part where beth lost but we knew it would happen both ladies did a wonderful job

Great, solid match from the two. There were a few off spots, but I thought it really picked up half way through, especially with the Glam Slam roll up spot.
Layla is really working hard after coming off of this injury. They worked hard and it paid off. Great effort & great match ladies!
5/5

Beth looks like she went back to Glamazon and I’d think layla would want another match with Beth just to make sure this wasn’t a fluke..She looked a hell of a lot meaner.Maybe thats a sign of things to come with Glamazon.!?

Ok may come to a shock i gave brooke vs gail a 3 but i give beth vs layla a 4. It was a good match Beth used Pyschology working the leg, it was pyshical just overall good.

4/5 for me
It would be better if it was longer.. and of course, if the crowd supported Layla =P
but that’s not her fault, when she only has a few seconds per week on tv, without a chance to say a word –’

The crowd really wasn’t half bad in this match.

The crowd were chanting “we want Kharma” in the beginning of the match and went silent afterwards.
The first started to support layla a bit after her ddt counter.

Yes yes Yes

I gave it a 3, only because of the iffy beginning, they were just off. Beth’s pants attire is back and looking vintage as the days of Mickie/Beth. I don’t want to see these two at the next PPV, I’d rather they find someone fresh for Layla.

DD’s missing a 0 rating JK. It was a really good match one of my fave diva PPV matches of the year so far.

Solid match with a predictable outcome. As much as I love Beth, I think it’s time to move on to a new challenger. Layla managed to win through her finisher and not a roll up, so I don’t know that there’s anymore for them to do. Better to put Beth on the back burner (though hopefully still give her something to do) until Kharma come back.
Like I said before, I think it’s time to put Eve in a title feud. She has good heat, and that needs to be transferred into a Divas title storyline.

still pissed i missed it but can’t wait to see the match. And am really excited to see Beth’s new Glamsuite

i don´t see why Layla and Beth should have any more encounters.Layla won clean,Beth´s credibility as a heel has long gone,Layla needs to be a credible champion and is not needed to see the same outcome again.

They’re giving them more encounters to build their fued mean while they are setting up for kharma’s return

like i said there´s no need of more encounters because it won´t build anything, not even Layla´s credibility as a champion, simply because Beth won´t win the title back(Kharma or other diva will).
Beth lost her rematch,Layla won with her finisher, there´s nothing else to do more.Beth didn´t go crazy after the match,to compensate a little the loss…

That was a damn good match best we have seen in a long while.
Both women put in work and was not a carry job , The psychology was nice with Beth targeting Laylas knee , and some great counters.
Laylas counter out of Beths gorilla press , and then the diamond dust to glam slam to roll up to roll up #2 then to the layout.
Will be surprised if there is a rematch as the clean win doesn’t seem to call for it , but would not surprise if they drag it out one more ppv.

I can’t wait to see the match!
I wonder who’s next for Layla?

I prefer matches with less rest holds and more hard-hitting, fast paced action, so I gave this match a 3.5, which rounds up to 4.

i agree, the only rest hold should be if the champ has her legs on the third rope while the ref does the three count. ;)
anyway mariah,i haven’t seen this match yet/seems i may have missed a good one. :)

A solid match. There were few a bit iffy spots (Layla still working off the ring rust), but overall I was impressed. It was very well set-out, the psychology from Beth was a nice change of pace for a Diva’s match and it felt like a battle rather than a procession of spots (which many diva’s matches are guilty of). That puts it ahead of Beth’s matches with Kelly and Eve last year for me personally. I would have liked a different ending, one that could have left things a little more open, but Beth has become one of those competitors who can be made into a threat at a moments notice. I always scoff whenever people say she’s lost credibility; she can get that back in a snap of her fingers.
It’s gotta be said; Beth’s outfit was tremendous, and Layla looked amazing in that colour.
I wasn’t as impressed with this as I was with Brooke/Gail, but I think that’s more a testiment to Brooke’s increasing talent than anything else. I’d love to see a re-match at No Way Out with more story attached to give fans something to sink their teeth into. They won the crowd over by the end, but they had an uphill battle to get there. Heck, throw Natalya in the mix for a triple threat; that could be superb.

Maxine should be the next challenger to establish her as a big player on the main roster. She and Layla could easily put together something watchable, and it would be a nice stopgap to whenever Kharma does return.

Yes awesome. Maxine and Layla with mic work, back room vignettes, and ring action (did you see Maxine’s DDT and hear Regal’s compliments? ) could build the greatest WWE women’s feud of the year and a fine women’s reign for Layla.

Maxine is too slow for someone like Layla.
She already had troubles to keep up Kellys speed in their superstar match.
That’s also the main reason why Kaitlyn, Alicia, AJ and Aksana had to step it down when they fought her which leaded to slow paced matches everytime.

I didn’t order the PPV but I’m glad Layla won. I think Beth is way better as a chaser than a champion.
On another note, how hot did Caomi look tonight? Someone fill me in.

SMOKING HOT, literally. It was like an orange-ish/redish combination totally different style from their other pieces. Hopefully they wear them tomorrow, even though I noticed they don’t typically wear their new pieces the night after a ppv.

FrankNFurter is an ombre effect/color job. From dark to light, like a gradient. I bleach my weaves like that a lot.

Good solid match. The iffy spots in the beginning kind of hurt it but once they got in the groove they did very well. And thank goodness Beth is back in her pants. I hated the skirt outfit so much.
at
All hail Layla!
at
This was actually a decent match. It was more than i exspected. Just wish it would’ve been longer. THANK THE LORD BETH IS BACK TO HER OLD ATTIRE.
at
It was abit awkward at the start but once it picked up it got really good…loved the kharma & lets go layla chants from the crowd..it did seem like the crowd was split between layla & beth at times too…
Beth sold the layout really well as well….
at
Altough i was happy to hear we want Kharma chants, its a bit disrespectful to the two girls in the ring who are working there butts off trying to put on a good match. Yet WWE should take not, WE WANT KHARMA!
Also i wonder when she returns, will the fans only care for her or will they care for her opponents and the rest of the divas as well
at
Also i thought the last 3 minutes of the match were really entertaining, they managed to get the crowd some what interested by the end, which is hard to do. Put this match in front of a better crowd and building more of a storyline, this match would of been really into it
at
I think Layla performed well, though she needs to get a new finisher. Also if they work on her character or get her involved in a storyline, that’ll be the icing on the cake and she’ll be the top diva again.
As for Beth, i dont know…something is missing. Her moveset has been the same since it was in 2007 , and its been very monotonous. Plus, they need to fix her in as a more dominant heel, and by getting a crowd reaction like this , wont do!

Beth as a heel has run her course.she needs to turn face again but being given a serious push.
