As you saw announced on Impact Wrestling a couple of weeks ago, former Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky was given a starring role in the latest video from country music band, Montgomery Gentry, for their song ‘So Called Life’.
The video has just premiered and stars Velvet as a single mom, who takes care of her little boy by day, and wrestles by night. Who’d have pictured Velvet in that role? I liked the story and the video was really enjoyable.

That was so cute and rather touching! And I like the song too. Way catchy. I imagine that’s what Lacey Von Erich would’ve had to do when she was with TNA with her son.

Velvet looks SO much prettier with less makeup, and she actually played the part really well.
Personally I think it’s a disgrace they used that little kid in the video. Everyone knows his friend Billy is the real country fan!

Well, it could’ve been themed as Egyptian Disco music and you would’ve put it over, but nevertheless, it’s not too bad. It just kills me that this is what the true greatness of the TBP era has been reduced to: no Angelina Love, Velvet falling short of her potential in the Gail Kim series, Brooke Tessmacher stepping up instead because of dedication and hard training in the indies, and Madison Rayne unbelievably shoved down our throats week-after-week in a weak pageant psycho gimmick ripped straight from the GLOW undercard.
It’s just a huge shame. A tremendous shame that TNA ruined the best thing they ever had, overness, ratings and personality-pop wise in the Beautiful People. This is what we have left.

Madison does seem to be the more consistently pushed out of the Divas. I mean, Knockouts. I’m guessing it’s because they don’t have a “strong” heel. They seem determined not to play to character strengths. I agree with The Beautiful People comment. They’ve really ripped them apart. If not the main focus of the division, Vel Vel and Angelina really should be a strong heel force since they seem determined to keep Tara as a face. And who the hell knows where Winter is? Although personality-wise she could be a great heel, her wrestling skills don’t match.
