Reports circulating today suggest that WWE Diva Maxine, real name Karlee Perez, has quit the company.
PWInsider is citing WWE sources as telling them that Perez has been “frustrated with a number of things, including not being offered a guaranteed deal and not having the chance to prove herself on TV beyond the WWE NXT level.”
Maxine appeared on the third season of NXT, and returned to television last year on NXT 5, where she was the breakout star — male or female — thanks to her love triangle with Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis. Maxine also served as General Manager in FCW.
She appeared on WWE television as late as this past Monday in the Divas battle royal on Raw.

Sad if it comes to be true, but unfortunately it won’t make a big difference given the state of the division.

I cnt believe she quit WWE. She was certainly one of my favourite Divas and is clearly a better heel than most current Divas imo! WWE loses another potential star?! Its really sad… goes to show why the Divas Division sucks! -.-

wow, i am in shock :(, i cant believe she is gone
however, in reality she isnt really a big lost to the division, but i wish her all the luck in her future endeavors

Omg this is terrible she’s one of the few good wrestlers in the division and was amazing on the mic. Hopefully HOPEFULLY TNA pick her up and do something with her.

It would be great if TNA signs her. I’m pretty sure maxine lives in Florida right?

TNA wont sign Maxine, she wasnt a big name in WWE first off, and also if TNA wasnt impressed with Taylor Hendrix looks and in ring ability then they are not gonna sign Maxine
WWFoverWWE
June 28, 2012 at 11:35 pm
She’s still a former diva so I can see them offering her a contract.
Taylor Hendrix’s issue is that she’s green and is not a good entertainer. Maxine doesn’t have that problem.

Brooke wasnt a big name in wwe either, but hey she ko champ now!!!!

You actually don’t know if TNA would sign Maxine or not. Like WWESTARINTRAINING said, Brooke came to TNA but she wasn’t a big star in WWE, yet she is the K.O. Champion. So quite frankly, you don’t know.
With Hendrix, she was very boring. Her character wasn’t anything special or something we haven’t seen before. It was all… I guess, cliche in the Wrestling world. Yet, Maxine has her own gimmick, her own style, she is way more entertaining and interesting to watch.

June 29, 2012 at 5:14 am
Brooke shook her ass and got signed. Maxine can actually talk on mic, which is almost impossible to find these days. The girl they just signed has no personality or charisma whatsoever.
I was really hoping it was Foxy. This girl has improved with her wrestling.

TBH Gail Kim’s first run was nothing amazing. Granted she did capture the Women’s Championship on her first night but as soon as she lost it, she was mainly used as a tag partner of Molly Holly then disappeared.

Without Maxine, the WWE diva still have a strong division, IF used properly, they still have Beth, Nattie, Tamina, Aj, Layla, Kharma, and plus FCW Is FULL of huge talent that just waiting for there debut, especially indy women Buggy Nova, Tenille, Rachelle St Claire, Sofia Cortez, Paige, Caylee Turner, so many good divas right now

June 28, 2012 at 11:30 pm
you have lost your mind with all that talent still could not stack up to the ko’s division with or with taeler hendrix
SherriShepherdWWE
June 28, 2012 at 11:34 pm
ya because right now the Knockouts division, is so hot, MIss Tessmecher who is the current champion is a model wrestler ( as people call them on this website), and one half of the KNockouts Tag Team title is held by a Guy,
So right now i would say the divas and knockouts are both a mess!!!!!
and Tailor Hendrix wont be signed because it is reported that TNA didnt like her in ring ability or the way she looked,

June 28, 2012 at 11:31 pm
well thats a huge blow to the division. she has charisma on the mic and can wrestle well. maxine would have excelled in a division with the right push. but tbh anyone is better off than being in wwe atm except for aj. they may pay well but some ppl come into business because they are passionate about wrestling and if they are not being utilised they are wasting their skill and attributes that would be better used elsewhere. wwe isnt the be all and end all. like many former divas have proved. if this is true i predict a bright future for her. at current she is unpolished gem and could be a diamond so i would say this is wwe’s loss.
HollyRobinsonWWE
June 28, 2012 at 11:40 pm
I agree on the unpolished gem part, at least insofar as she is a potential star that is unknown to 99.8% of WWE’s fanbase. If another promotion were to pick her up it should be an easy net gain, but I get the feeling she only signed up for the celebrity of it all and is probably done with wrestling altogether.

:(
this is annoying to read. true she’s no big loss to the division (although with thestate of the division at the moment, beth quitting would barely leave a gap lol) but on a personal level, for me, she was the only diva left who i connected with.
i’m gonna miss her but props to her for it being on her terms.. just me or is it a little bit worrying how pretty much all of the divas who have left in the last 12months have quit and not been released? gail. Bellas, even kelly…(?)
i wonder if it’ll be another gail situation where she’s forced to sit out the rest of her contract? ..total cliché thing to say but i wouldn’t mind her showing up in tna ;) ..that is if she wishes to continue in the industry. if not, all the best to her ! :)

June 28, 2012 at 11:36 pm
Wow I’m kind of surprised. I know it was only a web show but she still had a pretty big presence. I honestly haven’t followed her enough to know what her ring work is like, but she is excellent at selling a character. I’m guessing she’s gone from wrestling altogether tbh, she doesn’t seem like the type who’d even bother shopping for a TNA deal.
FashionQueen86
June 28, 2012 at 11:36 pm
I don’t blame any diva that quits. Gail did it, Jillian did it. WWE portrays their divas poorly. It’s just not a place for female wrestlers right now.
FashionQueen86
June 28, 2012 at 11:36 pm
And Maryse did it
Kessuki
June 28, 2012 at 11:47 pm
although she never quit, it seems to me serena doesn’t miss it either. i think it doesnt bother her that she was released.
its for this reason why i think its best indy wrestlers dont go to wwe i would hate to see their matches lasting 1 min and ending in rollups.
Jhonmarco
June 29, 2012 at 12:33 am
Maryse didn’t quit. She was just okay with being released. It didn’t matter to her and they needed to release a diva so it was her.
FashionQueen86
June 29, 2012 at 1:05 am
I was under the impression she quit becuase she did not seem all that sad over it. Plus she said she wanted to start new things for herself, but couldn’t becuase she was always on the road. And the reason I felt like she quit was becuase I cannot see why out of all divas, they allowed HER to go. MANY fans loved Maryse.
Jhonmarco
June 29, 2012 at 1:12 am
The fans loved Mickie, but that didn’t stop them. I imagine they’re all replaceble in WWE’s eyes.

June 28, 2012 at 11:46 pm
I don’t see her as a huge loss to the division and frankly, complaining that she hasn’t had a chance to showcase her skills beyond NXT is rather petty. NXT winner Kaitlyn has barely had a chance to showcase her skills beyond that level. Divas champion Layla was off TV for two weeks, Beth Phoenix regularly falls off the face of the Earth! Why is Maxine so special that she deserves regular TV time when established veterans can’t?

Great Mic Work and how many heels are left? Natalya, Beth, Eve and the valets Aksana & Rosa.

June 29, 2012 at 1:14 am
The Face side is equally as barren. We only have Kaitlyn, Tamina, Alicia Fox and Layla. AJ is a Tweener. And Kelly Kelly? Who knows if she’ll even be back.
Jhonmarco
June 29, 2012 at 1:16 am
I don’t think that’s what Maxine meant with her quitting, but honestly should the fact that others who have suffered worse treatment mean she should just grin & bare it? Regardless of her position, it’s mistreatment and shouldn’t matter if she’s a veteran or not.
melon2617
June 29, 2012 at 1:36 am
But my point is that no Diva is getting quality time right now aside from AJ. Maxine didn’t win NXT, Kaitlyn did and Kaitlyn doesn’t have storyline right now even though she SHOULD be involved in this AJ debacle in some capacity. Natalya has been working NXT without a word of complaint and she’s a seasoned veteran!
Maxine has been on the main roster for 6 months and is complaining about not having a decent spot. What about veteran women like Natalya, Beth Phoenix, Hell, even Rosa Mendes or Eve! They’re all veterans who have been travelling with the company for years and don’t have peak spots. AJ’s meteoric rise is an exception, not the rule.

So because everyone else just lays down and accepts it so should she?
mojodoom
June 29, 2012 at 1:57 am
Mistreatment? Being mistreated is when you win the championship today and you show up for work at sunglasshut the very next day. She was in a storyline, was getting more TV time than most superstars and divas. The divas division was never a priority for the WWE. Everyone knows that, she should have known that.
I don’t think her leaving (if it’s true) is a big loss to the division. Anyone can fill the void (if there was any to begin with). Most of the divas showed if given the time and opportunity can stand up to the challenge. There’s really nothing special about her and quite frankly easily replaceable.
Jhonmarco
June 29, 2012 at 2:31 am
Her mic skills & charisma were hands down the best in the division. I love Beth & Nattie but they really can’t work a mic (Beth especially).

Maxine for sure hasn’t the same paycheck than established divas.
Kaytlin just got into wrestling a few years and is way less a wrestling fan than Maxine (same goes for Aksanna).
Maxine was supposed to debut one year ago and yet her status is still unclear in the company.
Maybe she’s just trying to pull some pressure, but props to her for stepping up. The division wouldn’t be so bad if Divas showed some personnality.

This is terrible. Maxine did deserve more. She was a star and she stood out among the other Divas with her character. I wish I could have seen more of her. She wasn’t the best in the ring but her character made up for it. I’m going to miss her, she gave me hope in the division.
