Mickie James Heading to UK in September to Face Kay Lee Ray

TNA Knockout Mickie James is heading to the UK in September to compete for Pro Wrestling Elite.

The company announced yesterday that James will be part of the company’s double header in Ayr, Scotland on September 15th and 16th.

James will face Pro-Wrestling: EVE standout Kay Lee Ray.

The young Scottish wrestler has caught the attention of British wrestling fans over the past year. In February, Ray reached the finals of EVE’s Queen of the Ring tournament as part of the company’s first Internet pay per view, No Man’s Land. Despite losing ultimately losing to Nikki Storm in the finals, Ray impressed against in bouts against April Davids and Carmel Jacob.

As wonderful as Mickie is, her whole career has been in the spotlight. I’d rather see TNA build other future stars than use Mickie over and over again.

I completely agree with this. I would love to see some of the other KOs be built up instead.

But in that case, they should be using Mickie to help build them up.

That’s why a Mickie heel turn against Brooke Tessmacher or Taeler Hendrix could help get those two over. Or simply a full on feud with Sarita.

Though as we know, TNA hasn’t been particularly interested in making the Knockouts a priority lately. So I can understand that they can’t use Mickie ‘all’ the time, but it’s been since January that she was in a PPV match.

Mickie seems to be hinting on her Twitter that she is going to be involved in a storyline soon, so my personal hope is that happens (because it’s disgusting in my opinion to see a talent like hers wasted away doing nothing at the moment).

i was lucky enough to get to speak to mickie in person last weekend. i asked her about the signs of her turning psycho bitch and if that’ll be happening soon. she said that was the plan but then aj started to do it in wwe, so mickie said that maybe she’ll drop the psycho and just be a bitch instead :’)

Wow awesome! That must have been amazing meeting her! Nice how she talked to you so candidly :D

Personally, while I loved psycho Mickie, I’d like to see her play a different sort of heel character, so a ‘just bitch’ Mickie would be great for me. She can always go psycho further down the line.

Anyway that does answer why we kept getting the Mickie heel tease, but that they haven’t pulled the trigger yet on it. It’s interesting that TNA obviously sees some of the similarities between Mickie and AJ. As far as AJ’s current character is concerned, I don’t think she’s really gone psycho bitch yet, but that’s probably what will happen at MitB I suppose.

But it’s good news that they’re not rushing Mickie’s heel turn, and that they seem to be putting quite a lot of thought into it (hopefully with more airtime for the Knockouts as well).

But Mickie can still be used and a credit to women wrestling.

Epic match, enough said. Kay Lee Ray is the future, whether it be WWE, TNA, ROH (if they start their womens division) or other places in the world, we’ll be seeing her face more often…

YES! I love Kay Lee Ray. Of the few matches I have seen in Pro Wrestling: EVE, Kay Lee is a stand out and I hope Mickie and Kay Lee have an awesome match
