Exclusive: Reby Sky Talks SHINE Debut, Reaction to ‘Model’ Stigma, Turning Down WWE & More

She’s the former NY Giants Girl, a Playboy model and not a WWE Diva–bombshell Reby Sky is instead learning her craft on the independent scene. And tonight, for the first time, Reby makes her first foray into all-female wrestling when she appears at the first SHINE Wrestling show.

With her model good looks, fans may wonder why Reby isn’t in WWE, but the former Lucha Libre USA star is content in working the independent scene and training several times a week with her former WWE star boyfriend, Matt Hardy.

In this exclusive interview, Reby talks about her journey in wrestling — from being the interviewer on Sirius XM’s Busted Open wrestling radio show, to being the interviewed, now a talent in her own right. Reby talks to us about her big breaks in Lucha Libre USA, EVOLVE’s Gabe Sapolsky championing her, and the support of her iconic boyfriend.

Reby also discusses the stigma surrounding former models in wrestling and why it drives her crazy, as well as revealing why she once turned down an opportunity with WWE.

Sky also talks about the recent controversy surrounding her being dubbed ‘Queen of Extreme’ in Shane Douglas’ new promotion, Extreme Rising, and her recent Twitter altercation with WWE Hall of Famer, Sunny.

I hate to say this, but her voice sounds so much like Amy Dumas..

I love her by the way, was just saying!

Wow…I almost thought it was Lita for a second.

      She DOES!

      • Lita-Sault-666

I was thinking exactly the same! …& her sense of humour too!

  • defineinsanity

I’ve never seen her in ring is she any good?

    • norisclouds

Nah she’s terrible…about the same level that most of these model type wrestlers are at tbh

      • Katie

She’s way worse than model type wrestlers though. Every move she makes it’s cringe worthy.

        • norisclouds

Yea…I was possibly being a bit generous. I still could see her getting offered something in a few years if she improves, sticks with it, cuts some baggage out of her life…but WWE seems to be going away from the model direction now and recruiting serious, experienced and talented wrestlers. They’ve finally accepted that the fans hate seeing pretty women trying hard but failing at wrestling in the ring…hence the Del Rey hiring and the scouting of other good indie wrestlers.

Worse than the Model wrestlers? Stop lying to yourself. Definitely better than half their main roster.

I strongly disagree, as Reby proved at Shine that she’s far from “terrible.” For a girl who’s been training in ring for one year, Reby’s improved leaps and bounds fro when she originally debuted. She’s learning to become very fluid, and she’s definitely quite the progressing wrestler. Every single match I’ve seen her improve. Some moves she’s done in previous matches were worth a cringe, but really, all the moves she couldn’t properly perform have been taken out and she’s replaced them with things that could definitely work.

She’s quite good, considering all the facts. Her match with Jayme Jameson at Shine was DEFINITELY near the top of best matches. Numerous people have and will continue to say that about Shine 1.

I’ve always liked Reby, and this interview has made my respect for her rise, she’s stunning, humble, a hard worker, and care for the business. I like Reby Sky’

I’ve been listening to these interviews for a while and whoever is doing this interview is always THE BEST interviewer. Please just have her do all the interviews because the other staff kind of sound awkward with these wrestlers.
