ODB Renews Contract With TNA

TNA Knockout ODB‘s appearances on Impact Wrestling have been scarce as of late, leading some fans to speculate about her future with the company. In response to such a question on Twitter, ODB confirmed on Friday that she has signed a new deal with TNA:

“@scousewrestling: @TheODBBAM do you still wrestle in tna have not seen you for a few weeks on tv” yep just signd a new deal,I’m ready 2#BAM

With Angelina Love‘s recent departure, some were expecting underutilized Knockouts like ODB to follow suit, but clearly she’s interested in sticking around. The question is, will the other “in limbo” Knockouts feel the same?

So happy to hear this :) Love me some ODB.

Rosita seems happy enough, I think she’ll be sticking around for a while longer, can’t say the same for Winter & Sarita though :/ I’m expecting their releases every day I log on.

From what I’ve heard recently, there planning on turning Rosita face. She’s been playing face at recent house shows and scoring victories of Gail Kim.

But i really hope the Winter/Tessmacher feud rumours are true.

sarita seems to be down in mexico wrestling on a weekly basis, so i would guess she is not too bothered that she’s not being used regularly in tna.

winter is another thing altogether.. at least with sarita she’s been in ‘limbo’ before and this time for close to a year?? so she’ll be used to it.. winter’s gone from being on tv every darn week to, what, once every 3 months now? =/

      • Raekon

Winter is working on the movie together with brooke and gail while she is also wrestling in other promotions as far as I know.

The “in limbo” Knockouts is basically 80% of the current Knockouts roster (minus Christy and SoCal Val).

I hope they start revitalizing the Knockouts division soon, because it has really been neglected by TNA for most of the year, and it just seems to get worse.

Hopefully the impending (I hope) Mickie heel turn is what gets the creative team actually interested in using the Knockouts prominently again.

The tag match this Thursday should really be a No.1 contenders match for the Knockouts Tag Team titles as well. If not, then they really just need to get rid of them, since their main use at the moment is to give an excuse not to use certain talents (I understand though that Eric Young had his new fishing show to tape).

The way the current TNA show is booked is relatively slow paced to the past, so that’s probably one reason why the Knockouts get so little time and do so little in that time. I think TNA should be looking to at least trial a second show, which may even be an all Knockouts show, since it would really solve some of their problems (which are really due to logistical and organizational issues).

agree with you all the way.

on the second show thing, didn’t tna actually debut a new one a week or two ago and it got cancelled straight away? lol.

It was just a recap show that had no new material. I have no idea how they could have expected it to rate well. My thinking is that it was some idea that Spike TV had.

Dixie has said that Spike TV wanted TNA to expand to three hours this year, but instead Dixie insisted on staying with two hours and going live. I suppose the ‘recap’ show was some sort of compromise, but it was really doomed to fail from the beginning.

Also, there’s no real evidence that it got ‘cancelled’ per say, since it was never actually in the TV listings in the first place (another reason it got bad ratings). Possibly they were just trialing that timeslot with wrestling content to see what rating it would get and had no plans to air anything the week after. But as said, there are more than enough reasons why it got a 0.2 rating (which is much lower than what Spike TV normally gets in that timeslot, about 0.6-0.7). Some reasons unavoidable (the DirecTV outage), but some from incompetence (using a recap show with no new material, and no real advertising at all).

Anyway it may just be wishful thinking on my part, but I do believe an all Knockouts show on Spike with ‘new’ content can draw above Spike’s normal ratings (which isn’t a high standard by any means), and help TNA overall in many different ways.

if they were to debut a new show, an all-knockouts one should definitely be what they go with. could easily fill 30minutes with just one match and a pillow talk interview thing with socal val.

The knockouts division is a complete mess right now. Half the roster has disappeared and the other half aren’t even doing anything relevent.

Tessmacher is the only knockout being consistently used and the other girls have been effected because of it. I remember the days when almost every girl on the roster was used, now only one is getting all the attention.

Winter and Rosita might as well get released.

Tessmacher has been used better than the other Knockouts recently, but of course she’s the champion and she should be.

Though compared to other champions in the recent past (Madison, Mickie, Winter, Velvet, Gail), she hasn’t been given that much spotlight at all. When she was challenging Gail for two months, definitely, but ever since she has become champ she has been less featured than all the other champions I can remember.

Maybe this is just last weeks’ Knockout-less Impact playing into my thinking, but she isn’t advertised for this weeks’ Impact either. I hope she at least makes some sort of an appearance (perhaps something to do with Tara tagging with Mickie over her.. or anything really), because two weeks without seeing the Knockouts champion would probably be a first, and dare I say a new low for the division.

BAAAAAAAAMMM!! Wonder if shes still married to EY haha…id so cheat on ODB man..shes cool as hell though

  • unscripted & flawless

No one has yet to point out that they’re the longest reigning KO Tag Team Champions lmao.

  • misschrissi7

I heard that Mickie James wasnt happy that she wasnt getting enough TV and ring time.

Shes one of the constantly used KOs (along with Velvet, Gail, Brooke & Madison)

ODB, Tara make occasional appearances in tag matches but I’ve not seen Winter, Sarita or Rosita since the Number 1 Contenders Battle Royale in Feb (i think it was).

    Please, new TNA K.O champ

  • jim462

I know what im about to say is gonna make the ODB fans mad but it needs to be said. Why in the world does ODB get a new deal with TNA when she is just a joke those idiotic comedy skits with Eric Young and as far as her wrestling skills go well lets just put it this way it makes me so angry that this mid carder at best gets treated so well by TNA when Sarita Winter & Rosita who are light years better than ODB is in the ring and on the mic yet we almost never see them. It criminal how poorly the great Sarita has been treated and ignored in the knockouts division never once being pushed for the knockouts singles title she did hold the knockouts tag belts with Rosita but those tag belts are meaningless. Winter even though she has held the knockouts singkles title is treated like crap has not beem om impact in many months same for Rosita. Yet ODB continues to get the preferred treatment from TNA its a damn shame
