WWE Signs Another New Diva
It looks like WWE has signed another independent talent in Mercedes KV.
Mercedes was spotted on an episode of FCW’s television show along with Kayla Armstrong (daughter of WWE referee, Scott) and Sara Del Rey a few weeks ago, sparking speculation that she may be WWE-bound.
Chaotic Wrestling, which features Mercedes as its Women’s Champion, announced her signing via Facebook, writing: “JUST ANNOUNCED in LOWELL, MA – Mercedes KV will be leaving Chaotic Wrestling as Women’s Champion, to report to the WWE training facility, FCW/NXT in Florida. All of us at Chaotic Wrestling want to congratulate Mercedes and wish her luck!”

they’re getting more ring time, if nothing else to fill the time. The trick now is one of them HAS to become a star a la AJ and help carry the division.

i read on a website that triple h is going to focus less on divas when he gets more power cause he dosent like womans wrestling , im surprised diva dirt didnt report on that

Yeah, one of the dirt sheets said that. The Observer, which is more reputable, is saying that he wants a small group of talented wrestling women working the matches.
The Golden Era, it’s worth noting, always only had about 5 – 7 women actively competing in the Women’s Division at a time. The pure eye candy like Stacy would get thrown into the occasional match, but were never really considered part of the Division.
I realize Maryse, Kelly, & the Bellas have a lot of fans around here, but was it really good for the Division to make them the center of it? Was that the best way to utilize them? The Women’s Division of 2002-08 had it’s ups and downs, but Championship matches, then, were never called “bathroom break.”
I’m guessing Trip thinks audiences would enjoy a Natalya vs Sara Del Rey match more than they did Kelly Kelly vs Brie Bella.

Quality talent will mean matches that aren’t “bathroom breaks” and therefore worth putting on TV.

Beth & Nattie can’t do it all by themselves, as last year proved. You have to admit the talent pool in 2002-08 was much better than it’s been the last few years.
Currently, the Division reminds me of 2000-01, when the Women’s Championship was rarely defended, eventually disappearing outright for six months. Then, at Survivor Series, the Championship was suddenly revived, Jazz debuted, and the Golden Era began.

Nice :) I’m glad WWE has signed another wrestler instead of some talentless hack who doesn’t care about wrestling. Plus she’s hot so that’s a bonus
I hope WWE does decide to turn their division around- start respecting the women, start giving them TV time and legitimate storylines [yes some without men], stop with the misogyny, stop hiring talentless hacks, stop calling them divas, etc- a women’s division could be pretty profitable

theres no tv or ring time the now but i think its just because they are re doing the whole division, i would not mind if they did not appear on tv for the next couple of months and then came back with a bang ! one can dream eh ?

It’s happened, before. The Women’s Championship was gone for SIX MONTHS before the Golden Era began at Survivor Series ’01.

Great signing!! She actually is pretty good in the ring and shows so much potential.I reccomend for people to youtube her. I remember seeing her over a year ago on yotube and thought she could be a great signee! Glad they did. Congrats Mercedes!

I don’t think it matters what your body type is (i.e. overweight, skinny, etc..) as long as they can work a really good match, I’m happy. And there are some women wrestlers that are super tiny and put on a really good match. Examples: Angelina Love, Madison Rayne, AJ Lee and others.

Okay so she is good. This means that they will release her or will eventually have her on the main roster in promos and no matches. I don’t get what the WWE has against women that can actually wrestle. My hope is that since she is pretty, they will give her watered down matches and promote her at the very least. I actually could see her being popular.

A very good signing!
She is a good in ring competitor.
The only thing she needs to improve a bit is her facial expressions when she sells moves cause that’s unfortunately many indy wrestlers are lacking.
I’m sure that this can easily be improved down in FCW/NXT though so not a real problem. :)
I saw some people saying she is skinny but that’s not the case.
AJ is skinnier than her.
Other than that, it does say little about the amount of strength one has cause I have seen people like that picking up 85+ kilos easily while others that had muscles on had difficulties to do so.

All these new signings give me hope for the future, but I read somewhere that when Hunter takes over he’s gonna’ focus on Tag Teams, leaving even less time for the Divas…

All I want is for Natalya, Tamina, Alicia, & Eve to be put at the front of the division. Don’t knock AJ, Vickie, or Kelly, just start putting these 4 ladies in the mix more. Make Natalya babyface, Alicia recently wrestled as a heel, Eve is already heel, and Tamina is a face. 2 Heels, 2 Faces.
I think Eve should take the title off of Layla, and reign for a while, til Royal Rumble, or thru Mania. Then like I said, make Natalya a face, and have her defeat Eve for the belt between Royal Rumble & Mania. I think both Divas can carry the division into the new year well, and I’m sure AJ will be Divas champion by next year.
Alicia Fox and Tamina can be mixed into the feuds of Layla, Eve, & Natalya as champions. Just some new competition instead of the same old same old.

This means nothing to me. I’m still bummed Maxine left from the entertainment point of view and Sofia Cortez from the wrestling side. My only hopes now are on Paige.
