On this day in history:
August 23rd, 2004 | All of Lita‘s Kane-related troubles–the abduction, terrorization, pregnancy and “engagement”–culminated with their wedding. Rejecting a white wedding dress chosen by Kane, Lita wore a gothic black gown and did what she could to undermine his glee. The ceremony itself–featuring a music video dedicated to their unborn child and an appearance by Trish Stratus as Lita’s “maid of honor”–lurched forward until Matt Hardy showed up to stop it, attacking Kane. Kane was able to fight him off, chokeslamming him off the stage and dragging Lita back to the altar to finish the wedding. He then scooped her up and carried his new wife over the threshold–er, under the Titan Tron.

this was a great segment real soap opera like
i remember watching this thinking matt was gonna save lita and every1 lives happiliy ever after boy was i wrong

She literally stole the entire angle, in the end. What was supposed to be a big Kane-Matt feud became the Trish ‘n’ Lita Show, with Kane spending the next year as a supporting player in whatever Lita was doing.

During the thing with AJ, some IWC types were complaining that it “ruined” Kane by having him have an interest in girls… Um, remember Tori, Terri, Lita, Kelly, Eve… Am I missing any (besides Katie Vick)?

Trish totally stole this feud!
She had some of the best one liners during this feud and you couldn’t help but laugh @ her.
I remember watching this thinking about how irresponsibly Lita was playing a mom to be. She was constantly putting herself in harm’s way, attacking Trish, getting involved @ ringside, etc & I kept thinking “Obviously dudes are writing this for Lita, because no pregnant woman would be doing these things.” It really wasn’t Snitsky’s fault.
