After a blind tag allowed Eve Torres to get credit for the victory in her 6-Diva Tag Team match on Raw, WWE.com attempted to talk to her teammates, Kaitlyn and Layla, to get their take on the match’s strange ending.
Watch the (attempted) interview below:
Before they could speak their minds, Layla and Kaitlyn were interrupted by Eve, who was anxious to tell them that she was “sharing this victory” with them. She also expressed her belief that their Divas Championship match this Sunday at Night of Champions would be “great”.
Eve told Layla that she could win the match, but backtracked when Kaitlyn seemed insulted, deciding then to tell the challenger that she’s “got it in the bag”. Backing up again, she corrected herself and told the two Divas that “we’re all going to win on Sunday.” Eve then suggested a group hug, but both Kaitlyn and Layla left her hanging.
Though “we’re all going to win” could easily mean that the division as a whole will “win” if Layla and Kaitlyn have a show stopping match, it’s clear that Eve is working harder than ever to wedge herself into the title picture. However, if she’s trying to spark some animosity between the two, it clearly isn’t working.

I’m really digging this storyline, it’s so fresh to even have a storyline in the division that isn’t just win a contender match.. face the champion then it’s over. I love the look Kaitlyn gave when Eve said Layla would win. I think the “We’re all gonna win” means Eve will deff. be involved in the match on Sunday, not that it wasn’t already obviously headed that way. Still, super excited loved the ending.

I think last minute she’ll be added and it’ll be a triple threat or special guest ref :P

I agree, I’m kind of hoping for a special referee match personally.

I agree, I am liking this storyline as well. I did not think I would have when Kaitlyn first won the Battle Royal. I figured WWE would go through the motions, do a typical formulaic feud and move on.
This current feud is actually picking up with Eve as the manipulator, where WWE dropped the ball with it a few months ago. Plus she is likely working toward gaining more influence on Smackdown as an administrator.
I think all three Divas have done a solid job in their respective roles in this feud. Layla is a really solid worker IMO, plus she has been doing very well implementing her personality/and giving Eve the cold shoulder. Kaitlyn is doing well considering this is her first full on feud in the main card. Kaitlyn is decent in the ring, and her facial expressions have been pretty good as well. I know some people dont care for Kaitlyn’s wrestling style, but I think it suits her well. Given some time to get comfortable, and the inclusion of a new move once in a while I think Kaitlyn will be good. Eve has proven to be really good in this storyline. Eve’s mannerisms (overly happy, purposely phony facial expressions and how “rough” Eve was while celebrating in the ring with Kaitlyn and Layla was a nice touch) have been spot on. Eve’s promo work during segments like the one above have been soild. Some people have been complaining about Eve’s ring work lately, maybe it has not been as good as Eve/Beth. However,I am sure any kinks will work themselves out once Eve is getting her groove on in a longer match type setting.
I am really happy with the angle they have going on right now, and I honestly had somewhat low expectations. For me, this storyline is coming off well on TV. If they can chain a few of these angles together for the Divas with sustained focus, I truly believe mainstream fans will begin to buy it as well, not just our niche group on here.
Given who the WWE have as Divas in developmental/under contract I think they may just be able to pull off solid matches. If they can pair soild matches, with soild storylines/focus/time it could be such a big bonus to the whole company. However, creative needs to keep its focus and perhaps receive a little creative input/liscence from the Divas themselves with where storylines can/should go.

I really wish they would show these Backstage Fallout stuff on Raw and Smackdown. It would help push the storyline even further.

Sadly that’s probably how they literally think.

I can’t wait to see how this will turn out! I really hope Eve will insert herself in the match or will make Booker T add her or give her a special guest referee role, to make the storyline progress. Anyway, I hope they carry with this once Night of Champions is over.

I read reports that Eve was actually supposed to win the battle royal and that WWE are now trying to edge her into the title picture since she was accidentally eliminated.
I think that’s why the ending to the battle royal was messed up. Eve was meant to land on the apron but went too far and you can see when she’s eliminated she tries to get back in.

These are just rumours by a guy that is more wrong then right about his assumptions everytime.

Pretty obvious Sunday’s match is either gonna become a triple threat or Kaitlyn being removed from it by being attacked or something.

Yeah its going to be a triple threat, at least its heading that way!
at 11:09 pm
Haha I can’t help but feel sorry for eve, but then I know where this is heading. I want to see a Fox vs Eve fued! Or bring the nattie and fox fued into the main shows cos the superstars matches they had were so so good!!
at 11:12 pm
I think eve knows that Kaitlin and and Layla have a good relationship and she I trying to break it up

WWE created a pretty good storyline from something that was allegedly a mistake. I actually want to watch this match on Sunday. Props to all involved!
By the way, great picture, DD.

hahaha I noticed the picture too. It looks like kaitlyn is staring at Eve’s breasts and Eve is saying “yeah they’re real” and then Layla is saying “there’s no way they’re real” XD

HAHA! Wow, I didn’t notice *that* about the picture, but you know, looking at it now:
Eve: “At first I wanted this size, but these suit my frame, don’t you think? I feel like a winner!”
Kaitlyn: “Uh, yeah, they look good to me. Hee, I said, “They look good to me.” Like your theme song. Right? Right…Layla?”
Layla: “Grrrrrrrllll…”

Eve is going to be added to the match or replace kaitlyn…if not shes setting the seeds of getting layla & kaitlyn to turn on each other….

I’d prefer the latter over the former.

Same but as of now, it’s clearly not working because both Lay and Kate doesn’t fall for it and dislike her even more about her actions. ^_^
Due to this her intentions backfire on her and she is bringing them rather closer together than away from each other. :p

Her face was like “WTF was that for?”. :p
Then she looked at layla and they smiled at each other, then they both were totally annoyed and when she praised Kaitlyn afterwards both Layla and Kaitlyn had a big “WTF” over their head again. ^_^
I played the clip several times focusing everytime on the expressions of one of the girls and I can tell you that all 3 were GOLD in this segment.
Loved all their expressions from the beginning to the end and I’m beyond happy that the writers are keeping up with this storyline.
Really hope they will keep it active after Sunday aswell so we can have more golden moments with these girls.
Most of all since its desperately needed due to the fact:
- Layla was shoved at the back even she was the champion and she needs that so she can shine more and again.
- Kaitlyn brings something new and fresh in the whole thing and her segment work was already golden in NXT.
They just need to let her use more of her moves on the main roster.
- Eve finally got a great personality that suits her well and she can pull greatly making her very interesting.

You can tell they’re fairly shook up by what happened.

I’m sick of the “Eve was supposed to win.” Do you really think anyone would find out that she was supposed to win ? What, did the WWE release that statement themselves ? I think why Eve and Layla were shocked was because 1- Kaitlyn was the unexpected winner. 2- Layla and Kaitlyn are friends, and Layla was surprised she would be facing her friend for the title. There you go. MY full opinion.
Raekon Reply:

They were all supposed to sell the “surprise” and in my opinion they did a awesome work doing it.
Even I also find it tiring that so many jumped on the assumption of this one guy defending his opinion, it’s understandable at some points that people would rather accept his assumption as the truth instead of anything “complicated”.
Why?
Because the WWE writers didn’t show any love for the divas for years now and such a complex, interesting and surprisingly well build and well thought out storyline didn’t came across us since like forever.
We usually had a number one contender (battle royal or just out of the blue) that usually lost or just took over with barely any build up (1-2 matches maybe) or with a storyline that involved one sided and contradicting things that lead to nowhere.
The potential was there for all the divas but they were never given such a chance like the one Layla, Kaitlyn and Eve recently got.
Even the Laycool split was not as special or complex as this storyline or their previous feuds from which they always came out as the victor at the end.
All in all I’m currently very happy with what is going on with these 3 along with AJ, Vickie, Aksana and Rosas involvement, additionaly to Nattie appearing each week (no matter if she wins or loses, she is always there!).
Beth just returned and Alicia is back aswell.
Both already featured this week.
This gives me hope that we might finally witness the division picking up again and I REALLY hope they won’t drop the ball again.

On Sunday at Night Of Champions the Divas Title Match has to be Eve vs. Kaitlyn vs Layla
at 2:18 am
I’m wondering if we’re looking @ this all wrong.
Maybe Eve will “help” Kaitlyn win the Divas title, you know, by “accident”, which puts Eve in the title picture, as she has two wins over Kaitlyn and still keeps Layla a legit contender. They use the rematch as a triple threat match and have Kaitlyn pin Eve, shocking the devious Diva and getting Layla out of the way, setting up the real feud in Eve/Kaitlyn. The triple threat title defense will give credence to Kaitlyn as champion and having Eve chase the title for a month or two will really help give her heel run more of an impact. Kaitlyn is still green, but if done right, this rivalry with Ms. Torres could really sell her as a legit contender like Jazz did with Trish.
at 4:50 am
What I think will happen is Eve will find a way to get into the NOC Divas Title match and make it a triple threat match and will win it n a very heel way
