Hopefully they get a nice bit of time. I know it’ll cause an uproar around here since Beth lost but given that she hasn’t been involved in this storyline and Kaitlyn needs to look like she’s got a shot come Sunday I really don’t mind that much.
i hope someone will post more detailed spoilers online somewhere… cuz if its just a roll-up im not as surprised as i would be if they give kaitlyn a clean win over beth
A clean win means winning without cheating. A roll-up is not cheating, however, it’s not considered decisive. An upset is when a person or team defeats an opponent or opponents considered to be better than the victor.
So everyone goes into the PPV with a win. Layla hasn’t lost in forever.
SweeneyTodd Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
Kaitlyn won the last match before the ppv = lose on ppv and there is a reason we haven’t yet seen Eve vs. Layla in the whole storyline.
Acrant Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
Layla’s also won all of her matches.
The win before PPV thing doesn’t always count.
SweeneyTodd Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
Is not just the Last win for ppv thing.
1.The news Kaitlyn’s Battle Royal win was a botch
2. We haven’t seen Layla vs. Eve yet.

That doesn’t mean anything. Seriously, they don’t always book things by the numbers.
And the ‘Battle Royal Botch’ is just a rumor.
SweeneyTodd Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
1. They normally never bring Face vs. Face divas match on ppv.
2. We haven’t seen Layla vs. Eve yet. Kaitlyn vs. Eve we have 2 times seen
3. No reason from one long face divas run to another face title run
Acrant Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
Beth lost to Nikki, didn’t she, and they both were heels.
If they want to put the title on someone, they’ll do it regardless.
SweeneyTodd Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
Complete other thing. Farewell gift for the bella twins and Nikki was face for a short time (Promote Team Teddy in the WM Story). After the match she was heel again.
Raekon Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
1) They already did it in the past (face vs face, heel vs heel)
2) Kaitlyn lost to Eve in between and lost to her in their match before the battle royal when it was about the assistant position in SD
3) There is a reason since Kaitlyn is a Diva that never had the title before (unlike Eve) and her win would open lots of paths for new storylines and feuds additionaly to the fresh breeze in the division.
LMAO, like there’s even such a thing as an “upset” win with the way the Divas are booked. Didn’t Kaitlyn beat Beth not too long ago? Like, at least two times, ify memory serves me right?
And where the hell was Eve?
T@KESH1 Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
a tag match roll up
Kaitlyn’s still .500 on the shows. (2-2)
T@KESH1 Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
(in singles matches)
& there’s still a bit of a diff when it comes to Divas booking upsets. Sure, anyone can go over, but if any of the following win: Kaitlyn, Aksana, Rosa, its a true diva context upset as they simply aren’t afforded a finisher as of yet so its either a rollup or interference/distraction/injury.
shaky209 Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
Now that is a great point they don’t have a finisher yet .So that would make sense it’s most likely a rollup or interference /distraction.Yeh none of those has finisher like Beth layla Eve or Natalya.

redsandman99 I tend to agree with you.Yes If Kaitlyn or someone else is going to win they’ve got to least wise plant the idea that she can win.And me I’m a Beth Phoenix fan.I am just glad that she’s back on tv and working. And she’s least wise ina storyline. Before for a while she wasn’t in any thing so now she’s least wise involved.Beth down the line when it is time she’ll get her chance and start getting some victory’s herself. when it’s time.!Just glad to see her finally working ..!!
hasn’t layla been on commentary like three times the last month? i get the feeling she’ll be retaining at the ppv because of it. it’s as if they’re finally trying to have the fans at home connect with her since she got back from injury.
ballplayer10123 Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
Yes, agreed. FINALLY is the key word, I’m glad they are finally letting Layla show some fire/personality. I thought she did really well sparring with the Miz a couple weeks ago.
Heel characters need arrogance/confidence/any means necessary. Babyfaces need confidence/fire. Layla has become pretty good as a grappler, glad she has been able to get across how much the Divas title means to her, and shown some character. It’s about time they let her have some creative freedom and time.
4. Kaitlyn defeated Beth Phoenix via pinfall. Funny thing, Beth’s theme hit and it showed her video, but Natalya’s minitron. Anyways, this was a decent divas match and Kaitlyn was really over. A lot of Kaitlyn signs. Beth got no reaction, unfortunately. I don’t remember how the match ended because I looked away for a moment and it was over.
Surprised that Kaitlyn is was over with the crowd and also had some sign-age from the fans. So it looks like we won’t be hearing the fake crowd cheers the WWE adds to the SD broadcast when Kaitlyn makes her entrance…
redsandman99 Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
Hopefully WWE shows Kaitlyn’s entrance. Maybe since she got a reaction they will.
With Eve being involved I think is very good.Kaitlyn vs Layla doesn’t hold anything for me. And as for Beth I think it’s about time they change her to face and let some one else get over as Heel like Beth has done all most of her career.Beth has done about everything she can as Heel. and made it work. And I believe in the next months or sometime next year that Beth will be changed to a face. And some time next year Beth can get that Diva’s title back..The antics of layla in the ring her clowning around like she does Doesn’t hit with me. It’s like she’s not serious that the other person is a big joke. But least wise Beth is back in the ring working and selling like no one else can.
Hoping that there’s no sloppy or slow moments in this one because I’ve been wanting these 2 to have a match for a while. I reeeeally want kaitlyn to hit a finisher too because Beth will sell the sh*t out of it (one of two best sellers on the divas roster including Fox)
whats layla’s win/lose record since she’s been back? 20-1? only lost i remember her having was to beth in that mixed tag…they have to give eve the title next they’ve jobbed every divas(nattie alica beth tamia) give eve the belt then let her feud with layla and kaitln then have her drop it to kelly(assuming she’s back or coming back)
corndogagenda Reply: September 12th, 2012 at
“whats layla’s win/lose record since she’s been back? 20-1?”
Excellent guess. According to profightdb (dot com), she returned to WWE wrestling action on April 29th and has competed in 18 televised matches. Of the 18, she’s only lost two: June 11th (mixed tag match with Santino against Beth and Ricardo) and June 25th (Battle Royale/Maxine’s last match). Most important, she hasn’t lost a singles match since returning (10 straight singles match wins).
For reference, in singles competition, she’s bested:
Natalya (5 times), Beth (twice), AJ, Foxy and Nikki Bella (once each).
this is far from being an upset bevause defeating Beth lately is way far from being such a big suprise.
Kaitlyn needs to look strong for the ppv match,it´s understandable but even so and like i said a win over Beth currently isn´t too different from a win over Rosa or Aksana,so Kaitlyn doesn´t gain anything even more when Beth doesn´t get a reaction.
Beth needs to be turned into a strong babyface but for that there´s the need of s strong heel Diva….maybe an heel Eve as a champion, making the divas life miserable as she uses her assistance job to hold the title………or waiting for Sara Del Rey´s debut….
Hopefully, Layla wins her match against Kaitlyn on Sunday and then feuds against Eve and that lasts for a few months. Triple H teased us about longer title runs, and now that Layla’s title run is gaining somewhat relevancy, it would be nice to see them not just trash her reign by passing it over to Kaitlyn. Now is the time where they could actually save Layla’s reign and make it memorable, Also, I think it would be better for Kaitlyn to win the title unexpectedly. Ala, Eve’s second title reign. I always thought that should be how Eve’s first title reign should have gone. It’s just SO much more believable for an underdog face to win in a fatal fourway, battle royal, triple threat, etc. But hopefully, Layla will take the win this Sunday. Eve and Layla have always had good chemistry in the ring.
They let Beth showcase her power and Kaitlyn having a “hard time” to overcome Beth.
At the end though they let her counter the GlamSlam and use a new finisher (Kaitlyns 5th finisher already :p ) of hers on Beth that looked good and impactfull.
Layla were watching interested with some tweener expressions surrounding her so anything could happen at sunday.
So in my opinion they will either surprise us by finally giving us a outcome thats awesome and upredictable of some short (no matter who wins) OR they will gives us the usuall “the number one contender wins the last match before the PPV so she can lose in the PPV” after she gained a little momentum.
I liked the match. It seemed physical, Kaitlyn won with a finisher (yey, finally) and the crowd was behind her.. :D
And the match itself was not short at all.. I wish I could see these 2 wrestling in a PPV some day
