Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to your Raw Redux. This week, we were treated to a somewhat odd tag team match that wouldn’t have been considered odd before two weeks ago. Layla and Alicia Fox, who just came off being opponents in a six Diva tag, team up to take on Eve and Beth Phoenix… who were opponents last week. Luckily though, Kaitlyn makes an appearance after the match to provide us with some Intel on her attacker at Night of Champions! Not only that, but AJ Lee… our crazed GM who’s appearing in less and less clothes each week, gets proposed to …by Paul Heyman! Let us begin since nothing I say could follow that up.
Following the entrances of both teams for this upcoming Divas match — Alicia Fox and Layla, as well as Beth Phoenix and Divas Champion, Eve, the match begins with Layla and Beth. A kick to the abdomen, with a head smash in the corner leads to Layla scoring a crossbody and tagging in Fox! Fox with some nice dropkicks until Beth takes her into the corner… but Alicia nails a split legged sunset flip for a two. She tries some sort of move, but Beth hoists her onto her shoulders and drops her rather violently. She goes for a suplex off the ropes, but Eve blind tags herself in, knocks Layla off the rope and hits the neckbreaker for the win.
After the bout, Kaitlyn comes out from the back and “thanks” Eve for the well wishes she sent on twitter. She then reveals that she scored the security footage from the hallway at Night of Champions… and while she couldn’t see her attacker’s face, she did catch the hair color. Guess what? It’s a blonde! This puts all assumption on Beth Phoenix, who denies that she had any part in this. Eve begins to flip on her partner, drops her title, and drills Beth with the neckbreaker. Kaitlyn looks on as if she doesn’t know what to believe anymore, and I love it.
Also, check out General Manager, AJ Lee, as she appears in a brilliant opening segment that includes naughty texts with CM Punk, a Brad Maddox appearance, and a Paul Heyman proposal!
Thoughts: The match… was short. But truthfully, I don’t think this was really about the match, more so the aftermath. I’m really excited to see where the Diva attacker plot is heading because it’s actual storyline progression! People can say what they want about this story, but the fact of the matter is that it’s a story, which is something the main roster Divas haven’t seemed to really have in a long time. There’s an actual purpose to things, and Eve turning on Beth has me interested to see where things are going with this whole situation. The attacker being a blonde is interesting though. I’ve seen Kelly, Natalya, and even Raquel Diaz thrown into the mix of who it could be. Part of me is hoping the blonde hair was just a wig though because there’s so many options you could think of in that perspective. Whoever it is, I just hope it’s not Eve because I feel like that would be sort of a cop out. A Diva working WITH Eve is much more in the realm of what I want it to be, but who knows? All I know is that I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the division for a change and I enjoy that feeling.

i kind of hope that the blonde hair was a wig too because i really want the attacker to be Paige i think that would be such an awesome way for her to debut… she would be such a breath of fresh air for the divas division and if she can get over with the main roster crowds as quickly as she got over with the NXT crowd she’ll be a quick star
i would also LOVE if it were kelly that would probably be the biggest diva heel turn since Trish at WM XX it would be huge

The match was purely there so they could get to the aftermath. It is storyline progression though and I’m happy for that. It actually leads to questions with many different possible answers as opposed to champion/challenger fare. As for the AJ/Punk/Heyman thing I thought it was very effective. Punk’s tormenting of AJ could truly send her off the deep end again and I think something will come of AJ slapping Heyman. There could be a loophole with the whole AJ not being able to touch talent since they could say Heyman’s not actually under contract with WWE and he’s just with Punk. But he could still conspire to get her out of power and that could even bring Vickie back into the mix since she and AJ have had problems and she would want her gone as General Manager.

What would be funny is if Heyman & Punk are in the middle of the ring, demanding someone from the Board come out so they can demand AJ be fired…
“All Grown Up” plays. Steph comes to the ring, slaps Heyman, then leaves.

Ok i liked the match. Alicia is at the point where she should have a title run not back when she first held the title. She is a consistent preformer. Yes she messed up once but that happens to the best of them. Because of what happened after the match and what happened on the backstage fallout i think they are gonna send Beth off the way the sent Victoria off. Confront the champion, make a match but lose and then give a farewell speech. It was also funny that Beth yalled at Beth that she can’t use people like that even though that was Eve’s schtick only two months ago

Match was okay…the attack was really weak. It just goes to show the Divas title is still a trinket/accessory in everyone’s mind, because what champion throws down their belt (which is supposed to be a guaranteed KO) and hits a finisher that could have easily been reversed. Just looked lame to me. I would have much rather hitting Beth over the back with the belt.
Also the AJ segment was great…was waiting for her to comeback with something insinuating that Punk had small man parts to see the reaction she would have gotten, lol, but I digress.

Hitting with the bell is a cheap shot.It’s okay for a heel to do it,but since Eve is trying to play the good girl right now it wouldn’t make sense for her to do it.

only now Kaitlyn remembered that it was a blonde who attacked her and Beth was accused yet Kaitlyn didn´t show the footage…
anyway Beth once again looked dumb,but it´s really a new thing?

It wasn’t until now that Kaitlyn saw the security footage. If she was attacked from behind at NOC, she probably never saw the woman who laid her out.

Being able to see the hair only means that it was a overhead camera and that the person were in disquise clotheswise anyway.

Finally the Divas Division with a decent storyline! I liked the match and Kaitlyn talking, but if she really has the footage why not show it? It would be really easy to tell if the attacker was Beth or not. I don’t think it was Eve in a wig, maybe another Diva using one, maybe a debuting Diva? Let’s see how this goes on Smackdown. Anyway, I’m happy for the girls having a storyline and oh well, the crowd could be better, but maybe with more stories like that people will begin to care about the Divas again.

I honestly despite my dream of seeing kelly kelly turn heel i doubt they will because kelly kelly is the top babyface diva, I think it will turn out to be natalya because they have had a feud on twitter ever since the divas battle royal so it seems likely natalya will be the attacker.

Well i mean they’ve really only built kelly as a top babyface, if she did turn heel the only 2 divas i find that are capable of bringing momentum to the crowed would be natalya and naomi for babyfaces, i hope they keep eve as a heel because you can see more of her personality :) But you’re so right about trish and torrie even though torrie’s was short lived :/ i think she had much potential. Trish will always be my favorite heel turn especially since it was at wrestlemania and how it was done XD

I think it should be K2, it would be a great return storyline for her. Seeing her and Eve aligned as “Bad girls” against Layla and Kaitlyn would be interesting, not just because Layla would be on the receiving end of some bullying, but I wouldn’t mind seeing K2 out of her comfort zone.

I too would find it interesting if Kelly was the attacker, if so.. c’mon Kelly, make me a fan! I still have in the back of my mind that it’s Kaitlyn and Eve playing games with the rest of the diva’s behind the scene. I’m not ruling out that it could’ve been a wig, I just don’t see WWE being that creative about it, or would that even be creative if it just ended up being Eve? Not to me, but hey it’s a storyline and the ladies are doing ok in my part.
As far as Beth goes, I thought she did her part well.. I don’t really think she looked bad or stupid, I thought she acted like anyone would who was falsely accused. Granted it would’ve been cool to see her rip Eve’s head off but that would only make her look guilty so I see why they had her react that way.

I hope its Kelly, it would be a massive breath of fresh air for her character. She’s always been portrayed as the smiling underdog babyface. I’d like to see her as the bitchy heel. I still remember her heel storyline with Melina in SvR 2008.

Question: after Kaitlyn said she saw the security footage why was Beth calling Eve a liar? That made no sense to me,
Who is the attacker? Don’t know but I am interested.

Per F4, Kelly’s either done with the company or will be soon so it’s unlikely to be her.
Eve in a wig fits as does Shaul since I believe she is still doing that Lady Gaga gimmick.

Nice to see they are actually going with this storyline! I think they’ve done a great job with it, because it will involve almost every diva and get the fans to actually care about something in the womans division again!
Like I’ve said before, I am wanting a new diva to debut. Eve hired someone to do her dirty work, and she will be revealed in the later months. Fingers crossed for Del Rey (I know, who is a brunette, but she is a “diva” now, and they may have given her a completely new look) .. other wise A. Love (which I have read many rumors about possibly being signed)
But from reading the article on wwe.com about ‘Who the attacker could be’ They don’t mention Kelly Kelly, which kinda makes me think they are not mentioning her to try and get everyone off the idea of her being the mystery diva. Which could also be epic if done properly and she can pull it off! All in all, I am loving this story as its sparking interest into the division again! WELL DONE ‘E!

I would honestly be happy if it were Natalya. I would like to see her receive another push or I think she may be looking to get out soon as well. I think she deserves to have a good storyline for a while after that fart angle they put her through earlier this year.

I read a couple of reviews of Monday’s Raw and both seemed to imply that Kaitlyn *just remembered* she saw the security footage of the attack at NOC. I don’t know the in-and-outs of obtaining video footage (kayfabe or legit), but I don’t think she would have been able to see the video immediately. It makes sense (as far as I’m concerned) that she would have seen this footage later. Also, Kaitlyn said she “scored” the footage, as if to say, “I (finally) got my hands on it.” Maybe someone else has some insight on this.
So…AJ and CM Punk got it on, seemingly multiple times. I thought CM Punk was concerned about AJ’s mental health, yet he copulated with her. Skeevy. Suspension of Disbelief, I know, but when did they do this? Was during the “AJ, we need to talk” phase of their relationship? Please don’t tell me it was while she was preparing to marry Daniel Bryan. *shudder* I don’t like random storylines and plot points thrown to the masses for shock value. Perhaps I missed some clues earlier on. Also, is AJ still a “teenager”? Like, ew.
BTW, I thought Paul Heyman’s proposal was a ruse until he mentioned Triple H and Stephanie. It still could be, but he’s not a fan of those two.

Armchair booker here: Eve recruited Naomi (in a blonde wig) to take Kaitlyn out, and Naomi has happy to do it because she’s been harboring a 2 year grudge since Kaitlyn won NXT3 instead of her and she just couldn’t stand the fact that Kaitlyn was now getting a Divas title shot while she was stuck with a dead end gimmick, dancing with the Funkasaurus week after week.

That could work (not a bad idea at all, actually), but there’s one thing Naomi has that’s undeniably hers. Unless the footage was extremely grainy (In 2012?), she would be outed instantly.

I’m guessing it was just Eve Torres in a blond wig (or Eve hiring someone) and this whole scenario is to set up Beth facing Eve in a title vs. career match.

Lets put it like this..whoever it is revealed attacked her is gonna be feuding with her for a bit.
So a virtual unknown is out of the question unless they want whatever progress they have made to fall flat on its ass by people not giving a rats ass about shaul , and nattie is seen as a joke and just used as enhancement talent now.
Also it is VERY easy effortlessly even to just reunite former besties in eve and kelly..again kellys reason for attacking kaitlyn can reason all the way back to nxt season 3.
And not to mention you have the kelly and layla dynamic..which would be interesting with them being in reversed roles since the laycool days.

otherwise if it’s going to be something completely different, I have my own theory, it’s Vickie (Got her daughter Raquel to do it) Sabotaging Kaitlyn’s biggest shining moment since winning NXT… Which Vickie always resented her for (Remember their relationship all that time ago) and we all know Vickie can hold a grudge!!! =D

I’m so happy that the continue with this storyline and adding more divas in it in the process cause in my opinion that’s the way it should be.
Through this several divas can shine in their roles at the same time without having the focus only on the title and a tiny feud between 2 of them.
Instead we had the involvement of Layla, Eve, Kaitlyn, Natalya, the “mystery diva” and now Beth and probably Alicia aswell. :)
Really hope that Beth turns face after this, teams up with Kaitlyn as a tag team and stays in the WWE.
If they would book Kaitlyn more to her strenghts then and as the powerhouse she actually can be, we could had two of the strongest divas in the division making an impact.
Natalya would make a VERY obvious suspect so I doubt they will go with her, Beth wasn’t the attacker for sure so that leaves us only with Kelly which I also highly doubt since she doesn’t work fulltime for the WWE anymore.
This leaves us only with “Emma” as a blond and everyone else with a wig on their head.
Hope they will bring up Skylar as the “rookie” that dreams of being on the main roster and would do anything to accomplish that

After watching the fallout it could had been Alicia aswell cause she pushed the blame on Beth a bit too hard and since she is currently a tweener and talked about “jealousy”, it would make sense if she was it aswell.
