In July, Diva Dirt announced two recipients for this year’s Legacy Award, Jazz and Jacqueline Moore. (Watch Jazz receive her award.) This week, Diva Dirt pays tribute to the iconic Jacqueline with several exclusive features, culminating with the release of her Legacy Award acceptance video.

To kick off the celebrations, we are honored to welcome former TNA Knockouts Champion and current Impact Wrestling star, Gail Kim, who has contributed a guest blog paying tribute to one of her toughest opponents, Jackie Moore.

First off, I want to say that it’s an honor for me to be asked to write about your Legacy Award winner, and that’s because of its recipient. Whether you know her as Jackie, Jacqueline, Ms. Texas, or one of her many other names, one thing we all know about her is that she is one tough woman. I was fortunate enough to get to work with Jackie twice in my career, once in WWE and the most recent time in TNA Impact Wrestling. I didn’t get to know her much the first time because we didn’t work that often together and Jackie was always nice but quiet. All I remember was facing her in the ring the first time on Sunday Night Heat and I just remember thinking, “Damn! I’m getting my ass kicked!” Lucky for me, I like to be physical in the ring or else I would probably be crying like a baby somewhere.

Fortunately we had the opportunity to work again together in TNA and I’m so glad, because I got to know Jackie a lot better on a more personal level. She’s quiet but she’s funny as hell and is a great, genuine person. I remember when she first came to TNA and there was a little pressure because it was pre-women’s division and I felt like it was a test to see how it could go. I just remember the catfights. Wow, people thought it was real. She always brought it and I loved it. We had a great chemistry. I hold the highest regard to her, in the ring and out. Her professionalism and talent speaks for itself. I believe that was the turning point for the women’s division. Things only grew from there.

To say you have made professional wrestling as your career for 20 plus years, as a woman, that is incredible. It’s a true testament to your passion and talent in this business. She has always looked incredible and has always been and will always be the toughest female I have been in the ring with. That’s pretty crazy to say since I’ve been in the ring with some VERY tough girls who have been bigger than her but it’s absolutely true. Who else gets their teeth knocked out in a street fight and goes to the back, asks for sugarless gum to stick in her two front teeth gap and goes straight back out? That’s Jackie! So thank you to Jackie who is so deserving of this award for everything you have done for me, women and the business. You deserve all the happiness and success in the world.

Don’t care for Gail Kim but I absolutely love Jackie. She’s so amazing. And I hate that neither the WWE nor TNA gave her a proper send off.

WWE did by giving her the Cruiserweight title on the way out. Love Jackie and want to see her in Shimmer or Shine before she retires.

By proper send off I mean, something along the lines of Trish’s

@nostalgia I agree. Anytime someone doesn’t like a wrestler who they love , they always bash them. For example , i hate eve , always did .

Jackie is definitely one of the toughest girls to step fought into a wrestling ring! Hard to believe she began in 1988 and in 2012 was still going strong, couldn’t believe she is nearing 50 years of age, you most certainly can’t tell!!

and what a career, so many great types of matches she’s wrestled, so many championships won and some very memorable opponents – Debbie Combs, Jeff Jarrett, Trish Stratus, Luna, Ivory, Jazz, Lita, Victoria, Dean Malenko, Chavo, Molly Holly, Awesome Kong, Roxxi, Gail Kim, Tori, Sable.. I could name so many more!!

Much respect for Jackie, having a 20+ year career in a sport dominated by the males is incredible. She is a true inspiration for any woman in sport

  5. If anyone truly deserves this award it’s Jacqueline DeLois Moore…

From her viscous fights in USWA as Miss Texas to getting her hair shaved off in a (Hair vs Hair match) to being the 1st ever USWA Women’s Champion (Holding the title 8 times) her brawl with Jerry the King Lawler and being attacked by a fan ringside LOL!
Then onto her stint in WCW where she was still roughing it up with the men!

Then onto WWF where she became most famous, from her feud with Sable, becoming the first African American woman to win the title (a total of 2 times) Her stint in Pretty Mean Sisters with Terri Runnels, her hardcore match with Lita, being a trainer for ‘Tough Enough’, becoming a referee, being able to take on the men as well as the women and winning the Cruiserweight championship!

And an honorable mention has to go out to her unforgettable performance in the Miss Royal Rumble 2000 Swimsuit Contest (One of my 1st real memories of her Hahaha)

Then her time in TNA in the 1st women’s steel cage match, that street fight losing her 2 front teeth (Her and Gail really did have an EPIC feud!) through managing Beer Money and then her brief return with ODB.

She really has done it all, hhe has a third degree black belt in taekwondo and experience in kickboxing and boxing, as well as being the first female to be included in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated ‘Top 500 professional wrestlers in the world’

So I repeat… If anyone truly deserves this award it’s Jacqueline DeLois Moore!!! =D

Congratulations Jackie! Lovely blog by Gail as well. Thank You Diva Dirt for honoring Jacqueline, she is one of my all time favorites. I only wish she held the WWE Womens Championship for a longer run and the TNA Knockouts Title atleast once! She truly deserved it. I will always remember her as the diva who made the others scared as soon as she got tagged into the ring, they knew they were in for a rough fight. Jackie was always small, but she was brutally agressive and that always put a smile on my face. Especially when she beat up Lita and Trish. :-P

Congrats Jackie, I’m so proud and hope to see you have another great run.
    You go girl! :-)

  9. Raekon

One of the greatest female wrestlers ever! :)
Very happy about the reward cause she definately deserves it!

I remember matches like Luna vs Miss Texas with Gangrel attacking her afterwards or all the great matches she had in the wwe against males and females. :)

One of my all time favorite matches was the fatal four way against jazz, victoria and trish.

    Raekon Reply:

Forgot to mention! Awesome blog by a awesome woman (Gail) too. Much love! :)
