The Queen of Wrestling is officially coming to WWE, according to a new report from PWInsider.
Independent veteran Sara Del Rey has finalized her deal with WWE and will be reporting to the company’s developmental territory, NXT, in Tampa, Florida shortly.
As reported over the summer, Del Rey was offered a contract pending results of a pre-screening medical test. It looks as though Del Rey has passed the medical.
Del Rey will join her former Ring of Honor stablemates, the Kings of Wrestling, who compete as Kassius Ohno and Antonio Cesaro in WWE. She also joins fellow SHIMMER alumni, Tenille (Emma) and Britani Knight (Paige) in NXT.

Hopefully she keeps her ring name, as I have always liked that about her – hope to see her on WWE TV soon!

YES! I’m ecstatic! I, too, would love to see her keep the name, but with “Summer Rae” on the roster, I don’t see her keeping “Sara Del Rey.”

Haha – never thought of that, hopefully she won’t even need NXT and will be put on the main roster?

She probably won’t keep her name. Alberto DEL Rio, REY Mysterio, yeah definitely not lol.

Those were both at a time where WWE didn’t normally assign names and ask for copyrights. Things are completely different now. On the bright side, Sara will most likely get a say since Paige and a lot of the male indy stars got a say.

Sara’s gonna get a new name whether you like it or not, if she’s the cash cow they think she’s gonna be they’re gonna slap patents on anything and everything to do with her so that she can’t leave the company and benefit from it elsewhere. Also in the grand scheme of things, many people still won’t have heard of her, so they’re going to make her their own star and they’ll never know the difference.

Your new wwe Diva Brunhilde (blonde long hair in a viking gimmick)! X_x

I wonder if they’ll bring in Sara as a blonde in the new storyline as Kaitlyn’s attacker?

I would totally love it if she would be the attacker because with Beth turning face and probably teaming with Kaitlyn we could have Beth and Kaitlyn vs Eve and Sara.
Add the other girls additionaly and take out the moveset restrictions and we could finally have great matches going on every week!

maybe with the last developemnents regarding Beth, mainly what happened on SD,her staying in the main story and Sara´s signing is a way to convince Beth to stay.
anyhow with WWE is always better to wait and see what happens, not putting hopes too high.

Yep, or dyed hair.
Though I would prefer her to use a wig cause I don’t think that blond hair would fit her.

Poor thing. Big mistake. she be restricted to moves like the wrest of the females of wwe.
at
Since she’s practically one of the few female wrestling masters in modern day women’s wrestling her gimmick will probably depict her as a very dangerous, serious and skilled fighter which means her name will probably more badass then the run of the mill diva name!

and that will all end up as Victoria’s career in her last 2 years with WWE…
at
She better not change her name ! That would ruin it. But when I saw this, I almost spit my drink all over my laptop. This is exciting :D
at
I can see her keeping Sara as her name, maybe even respelling it to Sarah or Serah, but there aint no way she’ll be Del Ray which is a shame, too much like Del Rio for their logic, plus they dont like using indie names from people who made those names mean something.
at
I’m excited as to what may happen to her, but I just hope that she doesn’t get watered down and hopefully, WWE won’t miss this target as they know how fantastic Sara is.
If I was Sara, I would want to work for the WWE dispite of how much it gets watered down because i’ll be thinking of the money, travelling around the world, meeting possible heroes and being on TV.
I like the name ‘Miss Del Ray’ or ‘Miss Sara’.

Since all the divas are restricted in their movesets and are totally watered down, I really see that happening. :(
We could already see the differences in matches in FCW, partially NXT in comparison to main roster televised matches.
In the main roster matches they all were allowed to have like 5 moves each while in the other shows they had a truck full of moves they were using.
My biggest hope is that they will finally allow some changes and let the girls showcase more in the ring while my biggest fear is that Sara will be handled the same as everyone else ending up to have also like 5 moves only.
Except if you count the ,slap, another slap, hair pull, another slap, punch, kick as wrestling moves aswell. :p

Bullshit. Why you keep trying to further this lie is beyond me.
at
Very happy her dream came true!
Now all I hope is that the WWE will FINALLY drop the moveset restrictions of the divas or at least give them more space then they currently have so they can put up great matches all together.

Guys!! On the dirtsheets today, in the article about the new focus on tag teams taking over it says this.. GET EXCITED.
“Back in August, the feeling was that more focus on tag teams would mean the Divas get put on the back burner. That doesn’t look to be the case as word is they have some significant things planned for the Divas division over the next few months.”
Do you hear that? Plans, as in.. they are going to do something with them for a few months wooo

Can we just switch NXT and the main roster already ?

Ugh I’m so worried they’ll have her debut then shove her to the side or fire her while she’s in developmental… :-(
I hope they use her right!!!!!

Oh happy dayyyyy, oh happy day,
So excited can’t wait to see Sara in WWE, what a good sign, TNA was stupid to not want to sign her, but good ole wwe was smart enough, can’t wait

Just like in the modeling world in some cases that women who are plus size are being told that they don’t have the look that they needed when all women comes in all shape and sizes. When one door closes that the other door will open, well look at being TNA loss,WWE gain.

I’m so excited! For the future
at
F*ck yeah!I’m so damn excited! I’m glad she is on her way to live her dream.I can only imagine the amazing matches between her and Paige,or her and Nattie,or her and Beth,or her and AJ (that would be interesting). And don’t give me that bullshit about AJ’s height…if wrestling thought me anything is that this does not matter as long as you compensate with different qualities. The future of the Divas Division looks really bright!
at
Sounds like great news but I would prefer to see SDR on the main roster because she’s so talented she deserves to be in the main roster kicking ass
then on NXT but in some ways I get it because she could train the FCW Divas and we could possibly see SDR vs Paige. But I guess I gotta be happy with what I got.
at
I am so freaking happy!!! Hopefully she won’t be in NXT just to learn a few thing of “WWE Style” wrestling but hoping for RAW debut shortly!!!
at
well this comes as good news especially given TNA’s restrictions preventing talent under contract from being on Indie DVD’s.
at
She’ll end up just like Kharma. WWE isn’t capable of giving great talent the respect they deserve.

Have you been under a rock for the past year and a half? They didn’t just have Kharma squander off, nor did they ever misuse her….
Things happened and it led to where we are now. NO ONE is solely to blame, nor should anyone be blamed at all.
Crazy_J Reply:

I understand where WWFOVERWWE is coming from. Getting your hopes up just to have them crumble with WWE everytime kinda makes you feel that way. However, Kharma was a DIFFERENT situation and you’re right nobody is to blame solely. But look at all of the diva’s within the last 10 years they’ve let go just to keep others who aren’t nearly as entertaining. I see both sides, but more often than not.. WWE DOES seem to drop the ball with female talent.

Such a good day!
I hope WWE use her well, and maybe on a feud with Natalya, it would be a dream (:
can’t wait to see her on NXT *-*
at
I just made the most obnoxious squealing noise. With Beth on the way out :’( maybe this means Del Rey will be on the main roster soon.
at
WWE are apparently now putting their focus into the Divas/tag team division instead of their original focus of tag teams and not Divas…
Can’t wait to see her on the main roster, she’ll put on some kickass matches with Natalya, Paige, Tamina, Fox!! I honestly cant wait for Sara Del Rey vs Kelly Kelly!
at
i will laugh my fucking ass off if her name is JILL HAHAHA OR something so simple like traci or samantha haha
omg
at
I’m not much for watching Indy shows because I don’t usually have the time to find them or have the money to buy them but from the few matches I’ve seen and as much as I’ve heard about her then hopefully she’ll bring something fresh and exciting to the WWE.
I just hope we all don’t put all of our eggs in one basket like we did with Kharma. Or I should say we and the WWE did with Kharma.
Good luck to her and hopefully she makes it through development. We’ve seen a lot of good female wrestlers not even make it to the roster because that’s how WWE rolls.
But congrats to her! can’t wait to see her amaze me like everyone says she will! :-)
