WWE star Vickie Guerrero has confirmed reports that her daughter, Shaul, aka Raquel Diaz, has departed WWE.

In a tweet, Vickie wrote:

@Shaul_Guerrero asked to be released from WWE for personal reasons. Im grateful to WWE for the support & love toward my family

Shaul, the daughter of Vickie and WWE Hall of Famer, Eddie Guerrero, was one of the most pushed Divas in recent WWE developmental history. She received a big push on the rebranded version of NXT with her “Exfoliating Ugliness Tour”. She is also a former FCW Divas Champion.

  1. Aww, I was rooting for Shaul ever since I heard she was interested in pursuing a career like her father. I wish her the best, sometimes it just wasn’t meant to be. Maybe (depending on the reason she left) a return is possible in the future.

Perhaps she didn’t get along with some of the Divas? I mean there’s a lot of backstage politics in wrestling. that’s why Verity Thomas left FCW.

That is not it. Shaul is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She got along with everyone. Don’t let her on-screen personality cloud your judgement of her, she’s not like that.

And I have to ask @WWFOVERWWE how do you know that she is. Not saying she isn’t, just asking.

FCW had put up some videos of divas doing interviews with fans at house shows. Shaul did interviews with divas like Naomi and AJ and she was BEYOND sweet to every single fan and the other divas around her. She’d even make the little kids feel more comfortable when asking them questions.

still, Verity was a sweet girl but not everybody you meet is going to like you

Sweet girl or not, the backstage environment and politics wasn’t made for “nice people”. Ask Tori/Terri Poch or Molly/Nora Greenwald.

    DIVASKO Reply:

what you mean with Molly and Terri??

I was really hopin Shaul woud do good in the wrestling business because both her parents were/are amazing the industry

However, I think Shaul was a lot like Maxine and all she really seen was all the fame, and attention, and didn’t really think about of the time and work that it was going to take to become a huge star, sadly

agreed, wrestling as a rebound career (even a lineage-advantaged one) isn’t likely to work if one never had tremendous drive for whatever their primary choice was (ex. the Rock’s decent attempt at making the league)

    good luck to her

I imagine it would be really difficult to live up to not only the legacy of her father, one of the greatest and most loved men to ever enter the business, but her mother’s current success as well. Maybe she just found that her heart wasn’t in it the way it should be.

*sits and cries in a corner* she would of made a great addition, but i am glad she decided to go before she went on the main shows, she must of realised it might not be for her. She was very talented though

  6. queennattie

    She would’ve been AMAZING.

This is a shame she wanted out. Maybe she realized this is not what she’s passionate about?

Horrible wrestler. Even worse actress. I don’t care who her dad is, she was just all around terrible. So glad we will never have to see her on the main roster.

Coming from someone who apparently marks for Maryse. I think she had a lot of personality, but failed when it game to the ring work. Much like Maryse, though I suppose we all view things differently.

Came* not game parton me lol

    Gail-Trish-Maryse Reply:

Raquel had too much personality IMO. She overacted EVERYTHING. And was overrated due to the fact that her dad is a dead wrestler. That may be mean, but it’s the truth.

And Maryse was certainly no “Natalya” in the ring, but she played her part very well, and had a great moveset for a “model diva”. And she sold very well.

Her French TKO kick and her spinning backbreaker were both great moves that you wouldn’t expect from someone with her looks.

She had the best heel character since Trish in my honest opinion.

    But that’s just me :)

cant say i’ll miss her or that im glad to see her gone because i’ve seen very little of her in-ring wrestling to have a strong opinion for or against her quitting. my assumption is; 1) she has come to terms that wrestling is not something she wants to dedicate her life to considering her father passed away young. 2) perhaps vickie herself is coming closer to asking for her release so that could be a factor for shaul to change her mind about staying on with wwe. or 3) she wants to start a family. Whichever it is, the best of luck to her.

She was such a terrible wrestler, but she wasn’t bad on the microphone. I don’t see what the IWC (people on wrestling forums saw in her really) since they all wanted her on Raw or Smackdown. Either way, I wish her success! (:

She would had made a good manager/valet and her mic skills would had helped her a lot in such a position.

Unfortunately she wasn’t made for the ring so no matter how hard she tried the athletisism just wasn’t there.

Wish her all the best for the future on everything she is planning to do. :)

Like others have said, she just was not born with her fathers natural athletic ability. No matter how hard she strained, she was still at a disadvantage for that fact. However, I’m saddened to see her leave. The match she had with Paige where she did Eddie’s signature “chair spoof” ordeal, brought tears to my eyes. She was a great voice and character, but like we all saw.. just couldn’t grasp the ring work quite as well as others. I hope whatever her “personal reasons” are, that she will be happy and enjoy whatever she decides to pursue next.

  12. I thought she could have been the total package with alot more training but i wish her the best….

  13. DIVASKO

what is bad news, I’m more concerned that K2 fans

  14. Mr. Asstastic

I’ll accept this as a severance package for Kelly’s release.

  15. I wonder if there are some family issues with the Guererros, as Vickie has been vaguely tweeting about hard times @ home & love & faith getting her through those times. Shaul asking to leave for personal reasons would fall into some kind of family issue.

Rumour has it she will be back, she just needs a break. She is only 21 so she’s got some time to decide her path.
