On this day in history:

October 3rd, 2010 | Michelle McCool had defeated Natalya to become the first ever Divas Champion, so it stands to reason that, even more than two years later, Natalya would have found it poetic to win the title from her. At 2010′s Hell in a Cell PPV, Natalya tried to do just that. The title was within her grasp–she had Michelle in the Sharpshooter–when Layla, not liking her BFF’s chances, took off her shoe and threw it at Natalya. This DQed Michelle, but also meant that she retained her title, so.. mission accomplished?

This reminds that even to this day I still don’t understand why Natalya’s push was brought to an erupt end:(

Maybe because Bret left and they had no reason to push her anymore? Lets be honest, Natalya was never on wwe’s list of divas to constantly push. She lucked out getting this push against Laycool.

A lot of ppl here say Natalya’s ur as champ was stale… I love Nattie and she was an awesome champ! But when he went solo to raw leavin Beth n LayCool on Smackdown well rest is history. She was limited and ppl got bored of her 30 seconds booked win and then eve took over

Natalya would have been better off if the ball hadn’t gotten dropped on her vs Melina. People were actually interested in seeing that feud and then it went absolutely nowhere except for a couple of slaps and the actual title match and then Natalya lost the belt to Eve.

It does suck. I’ve had to resort to going to dailymotion to watch things. That site is annoying within itself but it’s got more stuff that hasn’t been blocked.

Lol, WWE is doing that because of that wannabe YouTube site. Seriously, even Dailymotion has bigger traffic than Hulu! And WWE is doing the wrong way, just because Hulu paid more, that makes WWE go downstairs, all they do is lose traffic. Let’s be honest, 98% of people who watched WWE didn’t knew WTF is Hulu. It annoys me so much…

why does it annoy you? WWE is one of the very few shows to be uploaded on YouTube, so we should be lucky that we even get to see the matches in the first place. RAW/SD/NXT are the only shows I like that I can see on YouTube, I can never go watch The Walking Dead or Homeland… so I’m grateful episodes of WWE are online.
plus you’re a TNA mark why do you care?? :S

    JillianHallTNA Reply:

I started to watch wrestling because of YouTube, and now WWE is removing some good old matches! To be honest, I don’t care about today’s episodes, I care about the old ones when WWE will start to block some epic matches!!
    I’m not a TNA mark, I’m a TNA fan! ;)

oh yeah that worries me too, word is that WWE wants to get rid of all Attitude Era videos to protect Linda’s image. Luckily I’ve downloaded nearly all WWF PPVs to my external hard drive… (illegally) shhhh haha.

oh thought you didn’t like WWE for some reason.. sorry I get a lot of users mixed up on here lol

If they didn’t base the whole division around Michelle McCool it wouldn’t of ‘died down’. And the way the natalya push just stopped, siiiigh

I know everyone complains but actually Michelle McCool was the last good thing to happen to that division and just because WWE didn’t/hasn’t pushed Nattie doesn’t make it Michelle’s fault, surely it’s the company’s problem.

Michelle McCool, Vince McMahon, and the “creative” team destroyed the Women’s division.

  6. I don’t see how Michelle destroyed the division? Wen she left, the division destroyed itself… No offense but Kelly maryse Bella’s eve Torres basically all of them pushed aside Melina Beth Natalya Gail Kim and slowly wwe getting rid of them.. Michelle provided some of the best matches but these girls just provided their basic 2 minute routine and try we’re ok with it… The divas destroyed themselves. Good thing for NXT divas like aj Kaytlin and Maxine who were an alternative!

The Division was already dead thanks to Michelle & her reign of terror.

Michelle (by her own admission) pitched all her own story lines & the outcomes of them all. Michelle made it all about her & (by her own admission) “lost her passion” after WWE stopped putting Laycool in the title picture. Michelle also claims she was forced on TV by mean Vince & that all the other Divas hated her.

Michelle got mic time, no other Divas did. The only ones that got love was Laycool so when they left, the division floundered.

From the outside…. Despite rumor sources we don’t know if all this is true dude… Trish had a similar Michelle mccool like push and much like mccool Trish used it to benefit the divas. How can girls like Maria Victoria Torrie Wilson and Candice put Michelle over so well yet everyone else seems to complain about her? Also from outside looking in, what u just said sounds a lot like how things are working with eve Torres… She gets mic time and is squashing the divas.. She’s being put over because Vince wants her to. And its really only helping Eve. Maryse and Melina were at some point Vince favorites however neither of them did it to help the division. And when Vince got bored of them they both got released. With all the catty BS no wonder Michelle “lost her passion”. The division was allready dead. Te fact that Michelle and Melina in 2009 made classics was awesome! Don’t forget leading into the Tables Match with Natalya Vickie Guerrero and Natalya was a huge deal! U maybe don’t like Michelle and that’s cool but come on, cant take away the hard work she put in.
