On this day in history:
October 9th, 2000 | Lita‘s Women’s Title was on the line in a Hardcore match against Jacqueline. You could hardly pick a tougher Diva to face in a Hardcore match–indeed, Jacqueline made her entrance pushing a shopping cart stocked with weapons and used several of them throughout the match. She pummeled Lita with a garbage can and a hairdryer before trying and failing to spray her with a fire extinguisher. The Divas later upped the stakes by fighting on a ladder, but it was the fire extinguisher that tipped the scales: Lita was able to work it, spraying Jacqueline in the face before striking the blinded Diva with a baking sheet to earn the win and retain her Women’s Title.

I loved the match, I only wish it was a little longer. A lot of people like to say Jackie is super tough which I agree to some extent, but I think Lita was equally tough if not more for taking most of the punishment. I remember reading in Lita’s book that the DDT on the baking sheet left her with a line across her forehead and the hairdryer shot with a “goose egg” type of bump. Lol. She also mentioned how wrestlers downplay how something hurts. She says had she been hit in the head like that she’d be screaming, “I can’t see straight!” And not get up and chase after Jackie instead. I agree that this work is underrated and forgotten somewhat. It was only two years later that JR mentioned at Survivor Series that there haden’t been a Womens Hardcore match in 3yrs, which ofcourse wasn’t true at all.
This makes me want to have seen a Hardcore Match between the psycho Diva Victoria and Lita.

Look at the crowd when lita came out like you wont see that for any other diva….loved this match it was hard hitting & one of the best womens hardcore matches….

So awesome man!! Lita rocks and Jackie was kicking ass woooooooo!!! Attitude rocked!! This was hardcore but was also fun and funny! Jackie swinging like a mad black woman from da hood lol

Lol I remember my friends and cousins laughing at that too. Then I read it in Lita’s book where she thought that was funny too and it made me laugh out loud…picture it, Jackie swinging away as if she’s fighting some creature from a horror film hehe..it is hilarious! Love these two girls!

Great hardcore match. Jackie sure was a tough SOB!! I always wanted a Jacqueline vs Jazz feud which would have involved a hardcore match between the two.
One of my favourite hardcore Diva matches along with Ivory vs Tori and Trish vs Victoria. Loved the No DQ match on Heat between Jackie & Molly too, especially where Jackie clotheslines Molly over the barricade.

Lita took awesome,brutal bumps in her career.
Miss her so much..in a month it will be 6 years since her retirement
