The teacher just schooled the student at TNA’s biggest event of the year.
Veteran Knockout, Tara, won her fifth Knockouts Championship by defeating her former best friend and student, Brooke Tessmacher, at Bound for Glory tonight (October 14th).
The victory makes Tara a six time champion in TNA (counting a Knockouts Tag Title reign), and eight time champion in the mainstream, factoring in two runs as WWE Women’s Champion.
Tara picked up the victory after hitting the Widow’s Peak on Brooke after Brooke missed an elbow drop from the top rope.

After the match, however, the mystery of Tara’s mysterious Hollywood boyfriend was solved as she introduced Mr Pectacular, Jessie Godderz, of Big Brother fame.
Tara previously told Diva Dirt regarding her boyfriend: “He’s a big deal, I’ll be honest. You’ll be familiar who he is. I’m excited. I’m biting my tongue not to say anything. He’s super dreamy. I can’t wait for you guys to see him.”
Godderz was signed by TNA last year and has been training in Ohio Valley Wrestling, the company’s developmental territory.
The title win is a significant one, too, as at 41 years old, Tara is one of the most accomplished female wrestlers in mainstream wrestling on TV, where careers for female talents tend to end in the early-to-mid 30s.

I was sorta bummed with Tara’s heel turn at first, because she’s not the “psycho” we once knew and loved. She’s more like, the heel-cougar from Smackdown before her career with WWE ended. But I’m getting use to her again. Nice push.

I’m thrilled for her! I really enjoyed the match and I’m glad that she won it cleanly. I’ll be honest, I have no idea who this boyfriend dude is (I don’t watch “reality” shows) but I have a feeling that these two will be very entertaining.

I get what you’re saying, but to be fair, longevity isn’t really something a lot of women can afford.
Most women’s fertility naturally decreases shortly after they turn 27, so if they want a family, then they need to take their bows early so that they can have a family. It’s the worst kept secret that women wrestlers struggle with infertility/fertility issues (Jillian Hall & Candice have both struggled with miscarriages, Luna Vachon mentioned that infertility was common. Trish Stratus openly talked about having a child right after her marriage, even showcased her future nursery on a Canadian TV show, but has now taken the PR “Soon” route similar to Sandra Bullock, prompting speculation that she too is struggling.) so naturally, women need to get out of the business if they want a family.
I can only assume that Lisa Marie and her husband didn’t feel kids were in the cards for them, so good for her for continuing to work and looking good doing it. For 41 she’s looking pretty amazing and she’s still putting on good matches. Congrats to her.

Either way Im miffed about this, I mean Im happy for Tara and shes more than deserving, but unless she actually gets a title reign that last more than a few months then it would be just another pointless switch. Hopefully this doesn’t happen and Tara holds the belt for a nice length of time.

Shitty payoff and, honestly, the wrong characterisation for Tara. There’s already two comedy workers – ODB and Madison Rayne – so I see no reason to sanitise one of their more tenacious heels in the division.

I don’t think people get that the point of him being hyped up as a Hollywood star was a joke. Even the announcers played it off a joke. I think it was just to show Tara’s humor by making all these A-List demands. And while it’s funny, I don’t think she’ll be a “comedy character”, I think she’ll be more of the person who thinks they’re way better and higher than they really are. Think MNM.
