Last week former WWE Diva Kelly Kelly debuted a slightly darker new ‘do, going from platinum blonde to a more two-toned look.
Early this morning, Kelly tweeted a new photo showing herself with an even darker shade–a light brown. It looks like Kelly was easing her hair into the color change.
What do you think of Kelly’s new look? Anyone think she’ll pop up in a few days with jet black hair?

Don’t even compare them. Trish Stratus wasn’t seen as a wrestling skank for years after she evolved into a grappler. Time and again Trish proved herself as a smart business woman during her time and away from wrestling. She’s been blonde and brunette since her time away and it has not projected her to be anything less than what she is. She’s an entrepenuer, yogi, pro wrestler, model, spokesperson, and a charming, smart woman. Kelly will need more than a change of hair style to change her image.

Trish wasn’t taken seriously when she was in wrestling. That’s absurd. Her final year in WWE was highlighted by a lesbian stalker angle where the fans cheered for the stalker and her smooching with Pam Anderson at some Canadian award show. Hardly role model material. I’m pretty sure she even said in an interview that her darker hair represented a career change and how she wanted to be percieved. The only reason she went blonde for her movie was because that’s her “WWE image” and the movie was marketed mostly to wrestling fans.
The Kelly/Trish comparison isn’t far off. Trish got offers outside of wrestling because of her WWE fame, and I’d argue Kelly is about as well known now as she was back in 2006. How many Maxim covers was Trish on?

I’m sorry but I disagree and also I don’t think WWE forced anyone to stay blonde either. Maxim was mostly relevant w WWE during the PG transition, it wasn’t that big of a deal until Playboy was fazed out. More importantly, Trish was involved with Oxygen, Sole Magazine, and sporadic appearances on TV shows. She used her looks to get the attention yes, but she built a fanbase with more than her looks. Something Kelly has barely done and I doubt she’ll be relevant in showbiz outside of WWE. Sure Trish is only well known in Canada outside WWE, but can Kelly do the same in the States without unlimited WWE backing? I doubt it.
Check out Trish’es latest youtube entry, she’s just been signed to a new venture which will surely help expand her brand. Appearance might play a factor, but Trish is known to be intellegent as she is beautiful and that is what ultimately produces success outside the wrestling world.

I actually do think Trish is a classy and smart woman, even though I’m negative towards her wrestling career sometimes. I find the post-WWE Trish far more appealing than I ever did her wrestling persona. I don’t think she, or any other diva, were seen as credible outside of the wrestling industry. Her respectibility was built up after the fact, and ditching the blonde hair and implants played a big part in that. Now do I think Kelly is as smart as Trish, or capable of building a career for herself without WWE’s support? Honestly, no. She’s trying to break in to the U.S. mainstream, and the only diva that’s kind of pulled it off is Stacy (who will be irrelevant once Clooney leaves her). But I don’t think the comparison to Trish is absurd. They both left WWE at similiar levels of fame, and both took steps to distance themselves from their wrestling image. Now we’ll see if she actually has any talent.

I think that WWE “forced” (or a less aggressive word) Kelly and Trish to stay blonde, because everybody is a sucker for blondes and WWE knew how to cash in on that. (Kelly, Sable, Torrie, Stacy, Trish)
although it would have been cool to see her on WWE TV as a brunette.

A lot of WWE superstars and Divas have mentioned that major hair changes aren’t allowed because of liscencing issues. Because their likeness is used for products, action figures, video games, etc, they like them to remain consistent.
As for Barbie’s hair…it looks good on her, although I preferred the two toned look.

Trish Stratus blonde hair became her trademark she was always a blonde in her fitness modeling career and onto her wrestling. There are some wrestling fans mainly men who still do not dig Trish with brown hair.Trish Stratus marketed herself off of being a blonde bombshell and it was a contributing factor in her popularity.Trish has said in a interview that the blonde hair was her uniform as a diva. She feels better now with the brown hair and that is naturally what she is.Trish Stratus is 36 years old she can’t look like the buxom blonde in 1998 forever. She needed to get over that look in her life and show her maturity by being a brunette. I noticed that with her new look she looked upon more seriously in the health and fitness industry and among the media. The media does not see her as the sex kitten as they did back in 2006-2007.

Hmm, I think it would look better if her hair was parted in the middle. The side part make it look like she’s wearing a wig… Not a lot of people can get away with the side part look, imo.

I don’t think many girls can pull of the parted in the middle look. It can make the face look awkward sometimes.
The side part look comes across like you’ve put effort into your hair even if you haven’t. It’s more flattering on the face in my opinion.

Her blond hair looked quite harsh and plasticky to me, so I think she looked a bit older with the blonda hair. Plus the ashy platinum looks like the shade all the real/fake housewives want to bleach their hair. KB’s light brown hair looks softer and healthier, so she looks younger to me.
