Welcome to this week’s edition of the SmackDown Redux! After coming up short in a title match against Eve Torres on Raw this past Monday, Layla is looking to get back into title contention with a win over Natalya. Will the former champ be able to pull out yet another win over Natalya, or will the 3rd Generation Diva finally take her down? Check out the match below:
We kick things off with Natayla already in the ring, and Eve at the commentary booth, looking to prove that she was not the Diva who attacked Kaitlyn at Night of Champions. Layla is out next, and while she’s on her way to the ring, our Divas Champion Eve tries to pin the attack on Kaitlyn on Aksana. The official signals for the bell and our Divas match is underway.
Nattie and Layla go to lock up, but Layla is distracted by Eve and gets a kick to the gut. Nattie follows up with scoopslam, but Layla wiggles free and rolls her up from behind. Nattie manages to reverse the pin, but Layla rolls through and tosses her out of the ring. Natalya tries to climb back in, and gets kicked back to the ground by Layla. Layla goes to retrieve Nattie, but gets distracted by Eve once again, and Natalya makes her pay for it with a forearm to the back.
Natalya throws Layla back into the ring, and works her over with a few strikes followed by a modified Octopus Stretch Submission hold. Layla fights her way of the submission and takes Natalya down with an armdrag, followed by a rollup for a nearfall. Layla jumps back to her feet quickly, but Natalya levels her with a discus clothesline for a nearfall of her own.
The camera cuts to Eve, but in the meantime, Layla hits a kick to the head to pick up the win. Post-match, Layla celebrates in the ring and stares Eve down.
Meanwhile, Teddy Long approaches Kaitlyn backstage with Eve’s iPad and shows her something on the screen. Teddy tells Kaitlyn that Eve needs to be stopped and that she can do whatever she wants with the info that he’s given her.
Thoughts: Not a bad match between Layla and Natalya, but definitely not up to the standard of their matches against one another in the past. I feel like the match was used as a vehicle for the Kaitlyn/Teddy Long segment backstage.
Speaking of which, the whole “Who attacked Kaitlyn?” mystery (*coughEVEcoughcough*) was beginning to bore a bit, but I’m liking where it’s going now. I have a feeling there’s some kind of swerve coming soon, and whatever Teddy showed Kaitlyn is going to play into it. I mean, Eve in a blonde is just TOO obvious, right? RIGHT?!
Well, that’s it for this week’s Redux! Until next time!

Too obvious yes, but this is WWE writing we’re talking about. It will be Eve, or they’ll use it to introduce someone new. Or even bigger and stupid swerve, it’ll be Aksana.

man i would die if it was paige in a blonde wig that eve hired but it probably isnt

The Teddy/kaitlyn segment is not complete in this video, she then takes pictures of wathever is on Eve´s Ipad, and then she tells Teddy to put it where it was, and that she was going to confront Eve about that!

Yep! :)
On superstars the commentators kept talking about the whole situation, how beth and kaitlyn are feeling about this among other diva related things and I liked it a lot. :)
I guess some short of revealance will take place on monday and I really hope it will be a good one.

Me too, I can´t wait to see :)
And about Beth vs Kaitlyn match, I loved the match, but the end was a bit sloopy :S

The final move was actually great to me.
What was a bit akward was after Kaitlyn hit Beth on the back, Beth just stood there waiting for Kaitlyn to get into a position so she can lift her for the ending. :/
They could had sold that spot differently and better but oh well.
People will whine about Kaitlyn being sloppy, bad and whatever after they saw her slipping due to the band on her boot anyway. :p

Eve Torres is officially my new favourite Diva, with Layla not far behind. Even though the narrative in this storyline is somewhat ridiculous, the three ladies involved have served their purpose well. I’m impressed with the subtlety of Eve’s deviousness (and it seems to me as though the WWE may have found their new ring general). Layla shows more and more thirst as a top babyface and Kaitlyn’s done alright in the spotlight too. Something else I want to add: Natalya is extremely effective putting over the other Divas. No matter how often the matches are recycled, they allow her to display a fair degree of her prowess in them. Though a damn shame she hasn’t been given the leading role for some time now, she is still wrestling more than others. Unfortunately the jobber role is a mandatory concept in wrestling.
All in all, I’m enjoying the output thus far. Hopefully the climax to this story is for Eve’s ruthlessness to be exposed and Kaitlyn to have her fairytale ending.

ODB doesn’t get enough credit outside of being a gimmick act. Besides never working a match to no audience reaction (which is testament to her character’s popularity) she can also wrestle really, really well. Anyone that needs reminding of the latter should check out her work when she was hanging with Gail and Kong in the Knockouts title picture. And, besides, even when ODB does just play it for laughs, I seldom recall a time when the results aren’t actually funny.
A good investment if you ask me.

Why in the hell are you talking about that in this post???

The whole “who attacked Kaitlyn?” thing really isn’t working for me. I love Eve as a heel, and I like Kaitlyn, but I really don’t care who attacked her and I’m not holding out any hope that the reveal will be that good.
Eve in wig is the obvious choice, and I doubt WWE will do anything more interesting than that. It wouldn’t make sense for any current Diva to be revealed as Eve’s helper, because no one else has benefited from the situation. Why would someone help Eve unless she promised to help them in return? No Divas other than Eve, Layla, or Kaitlyn have received any attention, so revealing it to be a current Diva would fall utterly flat.
The same thing is true for any developmental Diva. Paige is too over as a face to bring her up as a heel, and no one else is ready or generating enough interest to move make an impact. Unless its Del Rey.

Its obvious eve got someone to do it..its not possible for her to dress up in whatever the attacker wore run off get changed into a dress/heels/not be sweaty/fix hair & get in position then what for someone to find kaitlyn unless there is a time frame from when the attacker attacked to when kaitlyn was found….

I don’t know remember that match back from Eve’s earlier days when she used the force on Alicia. Maybe Eve can teleport as well!

Nope, a guy came to the office and told her that something happen so she left the prime time players in the office and went to look what it was.

I just have a feeling that the ending to this is gnna be like something out of left feild!!!!

I have a feeling with this next week being the go home before the ppv that we’ll find out who the attacker was. Still think we’ll end up with Eve vs Kaitlyn vs Layla at HIAC.
at
1st- Natalya looked extra awesome in her ring gear! 2nd- the match lasted longer than I thought it would, but they missed the finish & I hate how Nattie lost & 3rd- wwe is clearly lost with the mystery attacker. So Kaitlyn wasn’t meant to win the battle royal and they panicked. They will probably be lame & make it Eve like they did with swoggle in the vinces son storyline, make it Layla because they panicked or gosh willing be smart enough to make it a diva from fcw!….. But we shouldn’t hold our breaths!
at
Kaitlyn didn’t look all that shocked when she looked at whatever was on the ipad. So I don’t think what she saw reveals the attacker. :/ Unless she’s just horrible at acting…We’ll see….
I really loved the Eve/Teddy segment earlier on. She’s such a conniving b*tch, haha.
at
I feel like what Teddy showed Kaitlyn could possibly be emails sent from Eve to the actual attacker. At least.. that’s what I hope. This is the perfect storyline to introduce a new diva to the mix.
at
Prohaps teddy put something fake on Eve’s iPad and showed it to kaitlyn to frame her. Revenge for on nicking his idea!

The match was short but it was sweet! I always love when Natalya and Layla work together. About Eve… Natalya have to play a roll in this feud! I’m gonna be mad at WWE if they don’t make her part of it because she was the reason of making Kaitlyn interesting when she won the battleroyal. Natalya was the one tweeting that Kaitlyn didn’t deserve that win. That blonde wig should be a distraction but… ok, it’s WWE and they don’t think that much.
Now I’m thinking; Why diva-dirt hasn’t post the superstars show? Kaitlyn vs Beth was AMAZING! The first time that I saw Kaitlyn have a serious match in WWE. Beth as always make the matches awesome, its hard to have a bad match with Beth but I give Kaitlyn her credit she did well too. It was a nice match and the time was well, not a long match of 15 minutes but not a short match of 4 minutes! It was nice! (:

All I want is to possibly see a new diva put on the roster because of this storyline. Whether it be Summer, or any diva from NXT, or even someone completely unknown, anyone besides it being Eve, that’d just be anti-climatic. kinda wish they’d put beth in a feud with eve, that way she could leave in a better way, like a “loser leaves wwe” match, instead of just not being on tv at all
at
There is just no way it’d be Eve herself. She was talking to Prime Time Players when the whole thing happened and it’s against any logic for her to be the attacker. But I have another big problem with the whole storyline. The divas are all built pretty different from one another. For example how hard would it be to recognize AJ Lee or Eve even with disguise on? The whole thing with the blond wig is just stupid to me.Like Natalya or Beth is built like Eve or Alicia…they really think us for some stupid ass people that’d believe everything as long as it comes from the WWE.The storyline can be saved only if it turns out to be Layla (although that would make her look stupid since she lost) AJ Lee or a new diva from NXT
at
Again, always the same, should have done that Natalya won by interference of Eve (for example when Laycool distracted Mickie and Natalya took advantage and won).
Maybe the attacker is Angelina Love, and WWE is waiting to finish his feud with TNA to show Angelina.
at
why couldn’t the mystery attacker come out and distract Layla or something? Or even Aksana come out on commentary with Eve?
Ugh, lets just hope this storyline doesn’t end up underwhelming
at
the match was bad! Natalya looked tired, like “ok i know i’m going to lose again, let’s make this quick”…on the other haand the sement was really nice, i though they wre going to drop the ball again with the mistry of Kaitlyn’s attacker, but finally anther “clue” something else,,,why not a segment every raw or every smackdown? and about the attacker, it might be Raquel Diaz or Aksana. But why not Natalya?
at
Haha I love this storyline!!! Eve Layla Kate Natalya u girls fuckin rock! My sexy English muffin!!
