Today in History: Halloween Costume Contest at Cyber Sunday 2008
On this day in history:
October 26th, 2008 | At 2008′s Cyber Sunday, for the second year in a row, the WWE held a Halloween costume contest, using the event’s interactivity to get fans to vote online for their favorite costume. Competing in the contest were Candice Michelle (as Marilyn Monroe), Michelle McCool (as an army girl), Maria (as a bunny), Katie Lea (as a vampire), Tiffany (as a nun), Victoria (as a banana), Lena Yada (as a ninja), Mickie James (as Lara Croft), Maryse (as a French maid), Brie Bella (as Cleopatra), Nikki Bella (as Batgirl), Natalya (as a cop), Beth Phoenix (as a gladiator), Eve Torres (as a ninja turtle), Layla (as Princess Leia) and Kelly Kelly (as a sailor). Mickie was voted the winner, but Victoria was not pleased, throwing her maracas at Mickie and starting a brawl. The babyfaces managed to chase off the heels and then celebrated in all their costumed glory.

I always love segments like this, but I was hoping for a costume battle royal the following RAW. ah’well!

Yeah, the 2007 battle royal the next night was surprisingly entertaining. Wish they had done another here.
I wonder if they didn’t show the full results because Michelle came in last again :P
I voted for Candice at the time, but Beth also looked fantastic.

They did have a 2 on 2 tag match on SD! It was Victoria and Maryse against some two Smackdown faces.

It was actually Victoria, Natalya & Marsye vs Michelle & The Bellas (I think!).

Oh right! I mixed it up with the summertime blast whatever match where Victoria wore the slippers and scuba gear and teamed up with Maryse.

It was paycuts, that’s the official story anyway. I love Lena, and felt she really wanted to be there. We never really got to see her compete, there was only that one match post-WWE where she faced Christina Von Eerie.

I love how Victoria was a Heel, but still served as some comedic relief, it really let the fans see her true, fun and goofy personality.
