A few weeks after former WWE developmental Diva Sofia Cortez competed in a TNA tryout match, fellow Tough Enough competitor Caylee Turner has also received a tryout.

Last night, TNA Knockout Tara tweeted a message praising a match with ODB and Caylee, saying, “Great match with @TheODBBAM and @wwecayleeturner. Yayyyy!”

It appears as though Caylee, who was released from the WWE back in August, competed in a dark match following last night’s live Impact. There’s no word yet on the likelihood of her getting signed, but if internal reaction was as enthusiastic as Tara’s, she might have a good shot.

Caylee’s sister is WWE Diva Alicia Fox.

NOOOOOOO. To many tryouts, I see Jillian’s chances of getting signed are increasingly slimmer D:

    Yep.

  3. Good for her :)

  4. Thats awesome that she’s still wrestling…i hope they sign her since she never got a chance in wwe…i find it funny that it said she got released for complaing about being injured yet shes tried out for tna whose women wrestlers hit alot harder….i wanna see the match thou….

    Raekon Reply:

From what I heard she actually asked for her release because she was fed up with the wwe. :p

Doubt that she would had complained about injuries only to get to TNA in which injuries are more likely to happen due to the spots the girls there are working (like you said aswell). :)

Shame we never got to see her in a match with or against her sister, but it’s nice to see that she still wants to wrestle.

Great news! Gutted when I heard the WWE released her, but nice to see she’s still wrestling.

I love Caylee and she has a very positive and bubbly attitude and personality. I for one would love to see her make it in TNA, and maybe there could be a possibility she’d return to WWE at a later date to team with her sister, Victoria.

Wrestling isn’t about personality its about psychology and physicallity and she couldn’t hang and bang with worthless divas. Just because a woman is attractive doesn’t mean she should get special treatment. Nor should a woman who isn’t a attractive. There are too many talented women on the indies like Santana G, Christina Von Eerie, Mia Yim, Marti Belle, Hailey Hatred, Cheerleader Melissa, Rain, Athena Reese, Portia Perez, Nicole Matthews, and pretty SHIMMER/SHINE. Women who got into the business out of passion not because it could further their modeling, acting, reality TV gigging careers. Women who didn’t get in becuase their boyfriend wanted to train to be a wrestler so they went with him like Emma from NXT.
Learn something about the sport of Kings & Queens, stop disrespecting the women of this sport by comparing great athletes like Fabulous Moolah, Mae Young, Wendi Richter, Leilani Kia, Mamie DiBiase, Luna Vachon, Alundra Blayze, Bertha Faye, Malia Housaka, Lexie Fyfe, Fabulous Moolah, and Judy Martin by comparing them to these “bubbly attitude” crapfests in the ring.
(I know some names are not spelled right.)

    JamieKym Reply:

Last time I saw, Christina is a good wrestler in the ring. So she’s not passionate? If she wasn’t passionate about the business, then why is she still wrestling?

    therightone Reply:

She can’t wrestle, you’ve just tolerated so much bad women’s wrestling you think she can.
Last time I checked for some reason TNA still has a TV show which is the only reason she did the match. She wants TV exposure just like that psychopath Taryn Terrell.

Eh it’s obvious TNA still wants their girls to be like the divas. This girl is like a .5 version of her sister

It looks as if caylee doesn’t care getting back to WWE and the story that she was fed up with them and asked for her release is true.

Good to see she is still passionate about wrestling and I hope she finds a spot in TNA since they are not having enough girls at the moment.

So it would be great to have jillian, sofia and caylee there to fill up for velvet, winter and angelina so the tag division can pick up again and the champs are having some fresh blood to go against for the title.

  9. kreece

Jillian Sofia and Caylee could easily fill the spots of those girls who have gone this year. So so glad to see Caylee is still interested in wrestling! Can they sign them all please?!

    shameronstar Reply:

Yea, if you sign these 3, and start using Sarita, Rosita, and Taeler Hendrix you actually have a really good division featuring a good balance of veteran, intermediate, and rookie talent!

  11. Looking Glass

People seem to forget that a try-out or dark match doesn’t mean a guaranteed signing, even if they love your work. Leva Bates was considered impressive in her match with Isis The Amazon (who I remember didn’t do a great job) and a year on, she’s unsigned. Daizee Haze has done countless dark matches and has never been signed, even Serena did one and everyone thought she was a shoe in to be signed. The only girls who have actually been signed after official try-outs (not GutChecks) are Rosie Lottalove and Winter/Katie Lea and given how neither of them are on the roster anymore, it doesn’t guarantee success either.

    shameronstar Reply:

Difference is that today the division is barren and needs fresh meat!

    WWFoverWWE Reply:

The reason some aren’t signed because TNA has nothing for them storyline wise. Serena suffered a concussion and hasn’t wrestled in over a year so even if TNA did offer her a contract, she likely rejected it because she can’t compete.

    Looking Glass Reply:

I’m just saying people are overreacting saying “Oh if Christina’s signed, Ivelisse and Jillian won’t be.” Ummm, no, chances are none of them will get an opportunity and the division is only baron because that’s how the girls are used. It’s actually a healthy size, they just don’t care enough to focus on more than two girls at a time.

  12. Nostalgia

Although it would be funny for Caylee to join TNA and do subliminal promos against Alicia and vice versa

  13. WWFoverWWE

I’d sign since it’s been a long time since TNA has had a black knockout. They need to sign Sofia though because she’s awesome…come on TNA hurry up :(

    Looking Glass Reply:

Yeah positive discrimination is always a good thing….
End of the day, I didn’t rate much about Christina, she seemed slow and sloppy in the ring and WWE just sculpted her into a second rate A. Fox (from the entrance to the attire) saying “Oh sign her because she’s black” doesn’t exactly scream good business sense.

    totallynecessary Reply:

HAHAHA… would you watch if it was all black divas… probably not…. diversity is beautiful and you can have greater character development and more creative story lines potential if the KO’s aren’t all the same… Race isnt the only factor, but there is a void for FANS who would like to see her or someone like her there… and considering all their fans is GREAT BUSINESS SENSE… but yeah “just cause she black-NO, but cause she would fit great here and there’s no one here like her at all ,and she has potential….

  14. DarknessRuler

It would be so funny to have TNA sign Caylee and copy the exact same gimmick as Alicia. Maybe Caylee can even steal a couple of those furry headgear Alicia has to play it off even more.

I’m all for new Divas and Knockouts, but I have to admit I’m tired of TNA going after ex Divas. I understand some of these girls were let go before they needed to be and TNA was a great second chance, but girls like Caylee are blatant examples of what I’m trying to say. Caylee was not a great wrestler at all. There are far too many attractive and talented girls on the indy scene that would be great knockouts. TNA needs to think outside of the box.

    Kantrell Reply:

    Lol why you mad tho?

    Anthony Reply:

Nah not mad at all..just don’t understand why TNA always does that with their talent selection.

    Kantrell Reply:

maybe because they know ex wwe superstars/divas is good, and could possibly bring in more ratings.

  16. kreece

True but Sofia and Caylee haven really made a name for themselves within the WWE, and never appeared on WWE television, they were in development which is watched by a tiny fraction of wrestling fans
So why not let them grow into ther own in TNA? Seems like a good way to get rookies ready for when the veterans move on

  17. Andhalogy

    good luck baby fox! ;)

  18. divaindemise

I only want Caylee in TNA if Alicia could follow and they could contribute towards rejuvenating the stagnant tag team division. Since the probability of that scenario is as slim as the Spanish vernacular of Rosa Mendes, I’d prefer TNA would cease torturing us Sarita fans and have her on TV more. Rosita would be a welcome presence too.

  19. EVEROCKS

Ha. That would suck, considering her sister is in TNA. Awkward…..

I’m a huge fan of Caylee, just goes to show she was passionate about wrestling and not just another diva looking for a spotlight. I hope she gets it.

  21. i fail to see the point in giving anybody a tryout when half the knockouts roster seems to be inactive for no real reason. good luck to her, though.

  22. Good for her and yes we need more sexy black knockouts!! Like chicks who looked like Kristal Marshall!! But also I heard ivy from tough enough and Jillian got tryouts as well hope they all get signed maybe… I don’t want Melina at all.. But I do want Maxine!!!! I want that hot bitch in top. Of TNA I mean

TNA needs another younger hungry powerhouse heel like Victoria jazz. Or awesome kong! Hell Serena was awesome as Mia Mancini

  23. Zaye

They have girls trying out a lot and they only been using on average about 4 knockouts in the past couple months or so.

    Kantrell Reply:

…only because only 4 of them are active and the rest is inactive doing other things in other countries

  24. redsandman99

A tryout doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll pick her up. I haven’t really watched enough of her matches to form an opinion on her skill. I feel like the knockouts could use some fresh blood but it’ll only really be worth it if the booking picks up (or at least gets a bit out of the lame comedy gutter it’s fallen into).

    Kaledrina Reply:

i hear ya. at least ‘back in the day’ when we were getting comedic antics from the likes of TBP or ODB, we were having more than one match/storyline at a time so the serious stuff and the jokey stuff balanced out well.. as it stands right now, i, too, would love some fresh blood.. but from where it has been a damn long time since seeing sarita, rosita.. heck, even madison! those three will feel fresh blood enough for me lol.

might be worth noting that taryn started training down at ovw the past couple days.. hopefully she’ll be making the transition to wrestler in the next few months.

    redsandman99 Reply:

Oh I’m sure she will be. I could see her getting in the mix come early next year. And I could see her getting the KO title sometime next year. I felt like she had a lot of potential when she was in WWE so hopefully her time in OVW will help her expand on that.

  25. totallynecessary

Actually she might get signed because they are in desperate need on a African-american Knockout… I was hoping for Athena to get it, but Christina is a safer bet because she already has a named and some people are still interested in how she will turn out…. GO CHRISTINA!!!

    Like Mike Reply:

Agreed, she was on Tough Enough. Her name is known and she was trained by big names in the business, so she could easily be used in the division and could easily have a similar success story to Brooke since she would be working with girls like Gail Kim, Tara and Mickie James.
