On this day in history:
November 6th, 2006 | One night after Lita defeated Mickie James to claim the vacated Women’s Championship, Mickie received a rematch. However, the scales wouldn’t be exactly tipped in her favor: GM Eric Bischoff ordered that Mickie would have one hand tied behind her back. Mickie fought well for a one-armed woman, but it didn’t take long for Lita to hit a DDT and signal the end of the match and Mickie’s hopes of winning the title that night.

Ah yes. I remember this series of of matches. Lita screwing with Mickie because…well because she could quite frankly.

These matches were so pointless IMO.
I understand they were building up to Mickie’s big win over Lita, but Mickie didn’t need it. She beat Trish, ending her 15 month Women’s title reign @ Wrestlemania. This was such a pointless undertaking and led to Lita’s alleged humiliation and Mickie getting lost in the shuffle going nowhere with the women’s title, because when she finally won it from Lita (after hitting her with a pepperoni the week before), it was so meh.
Honestly, Lita should have left when Trish did in either a loser leaves WWE match with Mickie or even have her simply leave, with Edge blaming her for his loss in his hometown the night before and him breaking up with her, causing her to leave the company. Giving her back the belt in an attempt to pad stats (which was unnecesaary for Lita) and putting her in this stupid feud with Mickie made her last two months ridiculous.
The tourney should have ended with Mickie and Melina, launching a new generation of Diva feuds. Dragging it out was kind of like Friends last season; we knew the end was coming and how it would end (Lita losing and leaving crying), it was all a matter of when they’d finally pull the plug.

I agree I loved heel Lita and that ddt. I think her hair looks better now. Her hair wasnt bad but it wasnt that cute to me either. I loved Lita degrading Mickie James. I’ve never liked her. I honestly dont know why. She talented in the ring and on the mic. Theres just something about her. Maybe its because she is always so perky lol. I wish Lita would have had a few more years in the ring. Its a shame her career was cut short by injurys and the stuff that happened with Matt and Edge. As I look back now no wonder she cheated on him, She probably got tired of the fact he was/is bat-shit crazy ;-)
