A Divas Championship match has been announced for Survivor Series, following the events of Raw, where Kaitlyn defeated Layla for a number one contender spot. Eve will defend her title against Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn first gained a shot at the Divas title back in August, by winning a Battle Royal to become the number one contender. Whilst prepping for her match with Layla at the Night of Champions pay-per-view, she was attacked by a mystery assailant and replaced in the match by Eve, whom went on to win the title for the third time.

Kaitlyn received her second chance at gold at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in October, this time involved in a triple threat match that included both Layla and Eve. Eve retained her title then, but will she be able to do the same again on November 18 in Indianapolis?

I wonder if she gets attacked again? Maybe during or after the match this time….? With Aksana talking to someone else while it happens……. I hope they actually do continue with this sotryline and it turns out to be someone amazing

Is this the first singles match at SS since Lita vs Mickie? Can’t remember.

No Beth vs Eve last year

I’d like Eve to retain, but in the grand scheme of things I want Kaitlyn to win because this storyline is getting dragged out now. I don’t think anyone cares who the bloody attacker was now, almost ancient history.

  5. I really think this is Kaitlyn’s moment.

WWE has invested in her rise to the championship, with her being attacked before her match, Eve taking her on before she was 100% & her recent standout moments during their matches. Kaitlyn almost won last month as well. I can’t even remember the last time WWE put this much effort into a title chase. Eve shines with or without the title & needs her comeuppance. Kaitlyn winning makes the most sense.

I’m pulling for eve let a diva have a long great reign
So that the divas title can mean something besides being just a belt

I agree the belt should stay on someone for more than just one storyline and Kaitlyn still sucks in the ring, she looks stiff and when I watch it just looks awkward

    melon2617 Reply:

Normally I would agree but in this case, the belt means more with a Kaitlyn win. She’s gone through an attack by a jealous Diva, lost a friend, battled back from injury to get this match. Her enduring all of that to eat a pinfall shows fans there’s no point in investing in a storyline; there’s no payoff. It’s what hurt laycool, no comeuppance for the heels. They won pretty much every feud in the end so there was no point in investing in the face Diva. This storyline was always Kaitlyn’s quest to become champ. It’s time for payoff.

I don’t think that’s true, I remember LayCool going through a table at the hands of Natalya. That seemed like a mouth full of Karma to me.

we had 2 long reigns this year beth continue into april from october last year and layla 140 days. and don’t forget NIkki bellas longest reign of them them all a grand total of 6 days

I like both but I find myself pulling for Kaitlyn. The main reason I think people want Eve to win is so she’ll feud with AJ but the affair business with AJ, Cena, Vickie and Dolph is something that doesn’t seem like its going to end soon. Unless AJ is in that AND chasing the diva’s title, which could happen but I don’t see as likely. And if there’s no AJ to feud with right away then who does Eve have to feud with? They would have to be interested in either actually soldifying Alicia or Natalya as faces to feud with her, push Naomi or Cameron as wrestlers or wait until Tamina is healthy enough to come back. Sounds like a lot but with WWE not seemingly interested in doing the first two at the moment its really not. So why not let Kaitlyn take the win? They’re about in the same position either way except if Kaitlyn wins, her and Eve would have a reason to continue feuding.

Not surprising. I wish they would have amped up Kaitlyn’s reaction to the whole attack. This match would be way more interesting if they would have given her even 5 minutes at some point to cut a promo on how devastated she was to lose her first shot/get hurt and how much it would mean to her to snag the title now.

  9. i would have personally prefer to have seen a tag elimination match and then the title match at the next PPV but what we have got is ok.

WWE can’t do much as of now. If Eve retains, the only diva she can face is Alicia but I can’t see WWE doing this or they can go with Layla.. again. They may go with AJ but with her current storyline with Vickie it may not happen for a while.
If Kaitlyn wins, Eve will possibly get a rematch at TLC but if they go with someone new, it’s either Aksana, Natalya but i don’t see that happening either.

I personally think WWE is at it’s lowest that they have ever been with the divas because they are only using 3 divas in the ring (Eve, Layla and Kaitlyn and sometimes Aksana) I, as a fan is getting a tad bored with seeing the same matches over and over again. Some of you may argue against that.

What WWE needs to do is to bring up some of the NXT divas because our current WWE divas have perhaps had their time such as Tamina and Rosa.

At Survivor Series, I’d like to see Eve retain because Kaitlyn is not ready for a title yet. The next 2 RAW’s and Smackdown’s, i’d like to see Eve take on 4 of the NXT divas and squash them, and then turn to AJ who is strong coming of her feud against Vickie with a win and then battle and TLC and RR.

There is nobody for Eve to feud with. The only person that makes sense is AJ but she is in another feud at the moment so Kaitlyn should win but I do agree they should have stretched it out a bit more with an elimination tag match at survivor series to give Eve a lengthier reign and intensify the feud a bit more. Plus Kaitlyn has alot more options when it comes to feuds and ther is a legit reason to have a match with Eve at the next ppv so they don’t have to push her right into a new feud. And how can you say this is the lowest point for the divas when at one point we were havong 30 second matches every show

    Crazy_J Reply:

Oh lord, 30 second matches.. I’m having a flashback and I don’t like it at all!

Sorry to disappoint all the Kaitlyn marks, but Eve will retain this Sunday. The only shot that Kaitlyn has of winning is if WWE creative decides to resuscitate the whole “Who Dunnit” angle with a solid conclusion to who REALLY attacked Kaitlyn. If Kaitlyn wins this Sunday, I think it would seem like a waste of time invested in a storyline that won’t mean anything due to not having a satisfying conclusion, and Kaitlyn going over would just be too “storybook ending” ish. So since the “Who Dunnit” angle has kinda died down, logically Kaitlyn CAN’T win. I truly think that they’re just using Kaitlyn to build Eve as a dominant heel so she can go up against A.J., both of whom they’ve been building as the top babyface/heel respectively since Wrestlemania. Kaitlyn is JUST now receiving a push, which leads me to believe that they’re only building Kaitlyn enough to make Eve look strong when she beats her Sunday.

The whodunit was pretty much established: Eve hired Aksana to attack Kaitlyn. Just because Aksana never said she did it & the heel announcers gave her the benefit of the doubt doesn’t mean it wasn’t established.

Not to mention that’s some bizarre thinking: Eve would look strong pinning a rookie Diva she’s pinned twice? That makes no sense. From a strictly storyline POV it would be pointless to spend two months building Kaitlyn up as this rookie who got her dream taken from her by Eve Torres to get pinned by Eve Torres.

I enjoy both women & there’s simply more storyline with Kaitlyn winning. Eve has a rematch clause and if Kaitlyn loses, there’s no further claim for her to attempt to win the title. WWE waits too long for their titles changes in this division for the most part. Beth’s win came a PPV too late & the moment was meh. If WWE holds off on Kaitlyn it’ll be meh too. Eve doesn’t need the title. Her character is fine without it & there’s more for her as the jilted loser. Teddy will take shots, she’ll viciously attack Kaitlyn, Layla will be a wild card. If Eve retains, Eve wins. There’s no where else to go.

“Just because Aksana never said she did it & the heel announcers gave her the benefit of the doubt doesn’t mean it wasn’t established.” Uh, that’s exactly what it means since Eve hasn’t lost her job as Booker T’s assistant. And if you wanna be technical, the babyface announcers never really put much emphasis on it either. The storyline was pretty much dropped after Booker T made the triple threat match for HIAC. Also, “Eve would look strong pinning a rookie Diva she’s pinned twice? That makes no sense,” a “rookie Diva” who’s for some reason or another beaten the likes of Beth Phoenix, Natalya, and Layla; all of whom have more than twice her experience, therefor making her look like a strong competitor. If Eve were to beat Kaitlyn this Sunday (which will most likely happen), she’d look like a dominant heel seeing as how she beat the diva they’ve been building as the new “powerhouse diva,” which btw wasn’t much time compared to how much time they’ve invested building the likes of Eve and A.J. Look at Tamina (granted she didn’t have a storyline to back her up); when she was getting pushed, everyone knew she was only being used to make Beth look strong despite the fact that she was virtually a rookie, so why wouldn’t it make sense to use a rookie like Kaitlyn to make Eve look like a strong heel? If Kaitlyn wins, who else would she feud with once she’s done with Eve. If you haven’t noticed, WWE’s pretty low on divas, especially definitive HEEL divas; whereas if Eve wins, not only does she look like the dominant heel, but they can have Aksana (assuming she actually IS the attacker) turn on Eve and ask for a title shot as payment for taking Kaitlyn out. Or bring some babyface NXT rookie Divas for Eve to squash to bide time until A.J. breaks free from her pointless feud with Vickie.

You say there is no where for Kaitlyn to go if she wins on Sunday well i say they could easily start a feud with Natalya over the title with Natalya annoyed that Kaitlyn sent a text off her phone posing as Natalya to the mystery admirer.

An Natalya did say that she would recommend to Booker that Kaitlyn got another title shot they could even say thanks to Natalya’s recommendation that Kaitlyn now owes her a shot at the divas title that random segment they had the other week might have been planting the seeds for a feud between the two.

Plus they have been facing each other on recent house shows so makes sense for a Kaitlyn Vs Natalya feud next also someone asked Natalya this question on twitter last how close are you to a title shot?” an her reply was closer than you know!

So there You got plenty that could start a Kaitlyn Vs Nattie feud in the near future.
