Taryn Terrell Wins OVW Women’s Championship

TNA Knockouts Referee Taryn Terrell has won the OVW Women’s Championship.

Formerly known as WWE’s Tiffany, Taryn defeated Heidi Lovelace for the belt, in a contest which saw TNA Gut Check winner, Taeler Hendrix as special referee.

PW Insider reports that Taeler made her presence felt as the official when Heidi was in control, which got the champ all riled up.

The finish saw Lovelace argue with Hendrix, resulting in the latter pushing the former over, allowing the WWE alumni to score a quick pin.

Thoughts: It’s fantastic to see Taryn wrestling again as she showed so much promise in WWE. Well done on the championship win!

I think this is a dumb move. Give Taryn Terrell the belt because she’s the big TV star? I am not against her wrestling in OVW, or even winning the belt at some point. But, to pull a switch, even if the ref did a quick count, is just dumb IMO. I hope Heidi gets the belt back quickly. She’s really worked hard and improved tons and deserves to be champ.

This is more Taeler screwing Heidi than Taryn winning- Heidi was the one who took the belt from Taeler in the first place, and Taryn just took advantage. Now they could say Taeler did it because she thinks Taryn will be easier to beat to get the title back, but you could go the route of Heidi returning the favor to Taeler, or even have Taryn win clean to Taeler’s shock.

I am not in favor of this at all. Taryn is on TNA…..she doesn’t need to be winning the development territory title. Heidi should have stayed the champion.

  • divaindemise

… On the plus side, hopefully this inspires Taryn to train more there while Taeler shifts into becoming a regularly used Knockout.

Good taryn was really coming along before her release…hopefully she moves into a wrestling role in tna after awhile…

I don’t understand the negative towards Taryn? You can tell she actually wants this, before she got signed to WWE she had to make video tapes of her in the ring to get anything so that right there tells me she wants this. However, Taeler, whatever, irritates me. I think she’s sloppy and shouldn’t of gotten the contract.

  • Blacklighter05

Is OVW the TNA developmental territory? Really? Makes me wonder how the same people are used day in and day out…

Anyway, GOOD for Taryn! She’s definitely not someone to be underestimated. She has a lot of potential and hopefully she can prove how awesome she can be just like Tessmacher. If WWE hadn’t released her and she had kept up improving I could easily see her being their golden girl.

For all the people complaining that Taryn is in TNA and winning the title, idk if you know, but the OVW Heavyweight Championship feud has been Crimson vs Rob Terry for quite some time…

  • Getdownwithachola

OVW got to be the most boring wrestling show today. Sometimes I try my best to watch the matchs, but the wrestling is 2 times worst than the diva’s which we all should know its not the girls fault.

  • HollyRobinsonWWE

I’m glad that Taryn is training again. I don’t see why this is a bad thing, she could be great on the actual televised show if she works on her ring polish.

  • Raekon

Happy for her getting involved in the feud between Heidi and Taeler.

It will give them more storyline development and Taryn the opportunity to train more.

Through this all 3 girls benefit.

  • jayjayholler

I think it’s a very smart move, don’t know why there be people hatin. I think this confirms Taryn will obviously wrestle in TNA at some point and this is a way to help motivate her and train hard for the main promotion.

  • jayjayholler

However, I will say that I hope she won’t debut that attire to TNA at a later date. Very Kelly Kelly. that’s what I miss about the old days.

The Divas and Knockouts use to wear different attires all the time and now it’s the same bloody boring attire with a variety of several colors. It just bores me.

  • Rhawk

While Im not against the idea of having Taryn win the title, I am against the idea of having her win it on her debut match, and this is most likely just because of her fame over all the other women on the roster. But whatever, OVW is OVW after all, by the time I’ve finished this post I bet we would have been ANOTHER OVW TV Title change.cause their so darn frequent.
But I will say the only good thing about this title change (if I HAD to pick something) is that Heidi acted like she was genuienly pissed off that Taeler cost her the title, which is nice to see in people, showing a bit more than one side to themselves. Hopefully Heidi can win the title back sometime, I’m really liking her more and more each time I see her.

I agree completely. I actually really like Tiffany in ECW/WWE. I thought she had a lot of promise. Its just to give her a title, even if its somewhat meaningless, in OVW in her debut match is dumb. Its like anyone from TNA gets automatic special treatment over the rest of the roster. Kinda insulting to the rest of the wrestlers.

Didn’t know Tiffany was still wrestling, I wonder If I can find this match anywhere.

    • wl75

it’s on the OVW website- episode 691, at about 43:30 in…

I never knew Taryn Terrell had so many HATERS on this site.Lol.Personally,I’m happy for her.First and foremost,I didn’t even know she has been down in OVW while being the KO referee. It comes to show that she still wants to wrestle, and it most likely means that TNA wants to use her as a wrestler sometime in the future.I’m glad she’s been working on her wrestling again because she hasn’t wrestled for about two years,so she does have some ring rust that I’m sure she’ll get rid of.I really do hope that TNA will go through with using her as a wrestler because she did have ALOT of potential when she competed in WWE.And honestly? It’s not the end of the world that she won the OVW women’s title.Hey,it’s her first championship, and I’m happy for her.Plus, her title win has created a potential storyline/feud.All in all,I’m happy for Taryn. So yall need to stop hating on her.lol.

      This ^^^^

  • Kayfabe!

Doesnt bother me girl represent Louisiana proud! But yes I’m a big fan of her and she didn’t really get her chance in wwe. She is probably better than Tessmacher and she can be the top face of tna one day!!! Good look Taryn!!!

Just watch the match and Tiffany is still good in the ring, can’t wait to see more

  • JamieKym

Why the fuck are you people complaining? I’ve seen matches from all three of them and Tiffany is the best wrestler out of the three. I’m happy. Congrats Tiff.
