I really hate to say this, but I’m getting a little sick of the whole world revolving around AJ. Good for her making the most of such a huge push, but for crying out loud, there’s such a thing as overkill.
Nothing about the title feud at all? Did the Divas champion even make an appearance or did Eve sit the show out like she did on Monday?
velvelove Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 6:12 am
thats what people were saying about Lay-Cool and then when it was over everybody missed it… So I guess take what we get?
redsandman99 Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 6:24 am
That’s sort of the thing. Once AJ’s push is done and over with people will be eventually clamoring for her to be in the spotlight again. And then there will be arguments about that and then so on and so forth.
jacknife2058 Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 8:41 am
I think the problem is that the story appears to be stuck in a bit of a rut and, like the Laycool run, it’s all very one-sided. Running the untouchable authority figure gimmick only works to a point, then it becomes boring because it’s clear that, without action from a higher authority figure, AJ has no options. At least with the Laycool run the faces could actually try beating them in the ring, AJ can hardly fight Dolph.
Um, even though I have no problem with AJ’s storyline, I had to respond because I saw it being compared to LayCool, and that’s not true at all. People were getting “sick” of LayCool, but at least LayCool always kept the Divas and Women’s Championship in the picture and relevant. People are complaining about AJ because she’s “hogging up” Diva time that could be given to the titles, meanwhile LayCool were “hogging up” Diva time WITH the titles – thus making them more important and prestigious because they were getting airtime. I think both arguments are a load of crap and people should just be satisfied and stop hating on a Diva getting her shine, but I just wanted to point out that the two situations are completely different.
i feel as if they really should go back to having exclusive rosters for the two different brands? have the aj/vickie/tamina stuff on raw and the eve/kaitlyn/aksana stuff on smackdown? i don’t know.. i think i would just prefer a mediocre week-long worth of diva action as opposed to a good show followed by what sounds like a bad one.
i guess it also helps when wwe doesn’t force one person on us at a time. i am almost beginning to resent aj, when i used to like her, simply because it feels as if wwe is forcing her on me and trying to get me to like her even more… eh, that sounds dumb but whatever lol.
Ed Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 4:59 am
The sad this is that I already liked AJ. But then WWE started overexposing her, shoving her down my throat, trying to force me to like her, and now I don’t really like AJ anymore.
exactly. i felt the same about michelle.. i WANTED to like her but just couldn’t due to her being on tv what felt like 3 times in one week #yawn
Raekon Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 7:09 am
What they are currently doing with AJ is what they did back then with Trish and afterwards slightly with Michell Mc Cool aswell.
The main difference between them is that in Trish and Michelles cases, they were only valets in their beginnings and got into mixed tag feuds with other male and female in ring competitors.
Through this there were actual matches involved.
In this storyline with AJ we got a feud between a in ring competitor and a GM/Valet like Vickie in a bad soap opera storyline.
So unless Tamina get’s more involved, things will be kept this way and people will indeed start getting sick of watching the “AJ and her lovers” show.
TheGamergirl22 Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 1:33 pm
Yeah I wanna start seeing AJ in matches and were was Tamina shouldn’t she follow Vickie to make sure she’s safe, cuz I just fast forward past the lovey parts
The storyline sucks. Cena and AJ are both lame in their current roles and it’s hurting both of their likeability (not that I care about Cena). I got to agree, they need to scale back on her push a bit and let her actually interact with the division.
According to wrestlezone the crowd was hot during this segment…probably not a good sign for people wanting this to end. The crowds have been responding so that probably just encourages WWE. And is it just me or does it feel like they’re writing this on a week by week basis? Like they had no real long term goal in mind and are just pulling stuff out of their ass? Lord knows they’ve done it with plenty of other storylines (the Lita/Malenko and the Lita/Kane/Matt Hardy thing come to mind)
Ed Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 5:08 am
“And is it just me or does it feel like they’re writing this on a week by week basis? Like they had no real long term goal in mind and are just pulling stuff out of their ass?”
Are you kidding? They do that with every storyline on this show. Were you watching a few weeks ago when Vince decided to shoot right in the middle of a live segment, went off the script and changed the whole main event of Survivor Series two weeks before the PPV? These writers are flying by the seat of their pants. Even if they do have long term plans about certain things, Vince changes his mind so often that it really doesn’t matter.

I wonder if they were planning something but Kaitlyn getting legit arrested changed things..looks like it was only for something minor though (an unpaid speeding ticket)..

DivaSmark Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 5:26 am
Yeah. That just broke a little while ago. Allegedly an unpaid speeding ticket was the reason.
The annoying thing is once AJ is done with this stupid storyline she’ll be in the Divas Title picture for at least 6 months or so. Probably even longer than that. That means we’re gonna have her shoved down our throats for a very long time -_-
Once she loses the title she better take a backseat for at least a year, that’s all I’m saying.
I like this storyline. And I think AJ is the perfect Diva for the PG era because she’s a lot like ICarly of Nickolodean fame. She looks like a young girl straight out of a kids show and since WWE is Disney-esque for a few years now, AJ perfectly represents that side of things. I like her a lot. She has become my favorite Diva since Melina and Mickie left. Finally I’ve got a new favorite. :-)
StratusXtreme Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 6:52 am
I agree with you. I think some fans are being a bit hard on AJ. They were exactly the same when Trish (my all time fav) was the main focus of the Divas Division. They just hating because their favourites aren’t being showcased as much as AJ. It doesn’t bother me at all, I like all the Diva’s, and as long as they are shown I’m a happy fan :)
People are mad when WWE doesn’t use the divas and now we have a diva in a major storyline with top talent and “overused and annoying and its starting to get boring”!! I’d rather have a dragged on story with a diva the the 3 months we went without a match over the summer!!!!
redsandman99 Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 6:09 am
I don’t find myself minding it as much as other people (at least not after last night’s developments) but I do see why others have such an issue with it. It’s not exactly greatly written and I think if they had shaved off a couple of weeks of Vickie just presenting evidence and AJ confronting her but nothing really getting done or if AJ was more involved with the division like people have been crying for since the summer, there would be less of an issue.
NY Pollard Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 6:36 am
After so much bitching these diva fans deserved the diva drought. They’re never happy…they’re just a pack of idiot bytches …
different strokes for different folks. personally, i’m more about the division as a whole and i don’t see any real positive in focusing on just the one diva (especially when she isn’t wrestling.)
tna did it earlier this year with gail kim for a good seven, maybe eight months.. and now we’re having to deal with how shit the knockouts division currently is because of it.
NY Pollard Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 7:37 am
Its the business Kaledrina. You might be right, but comeon, when have we ever had an extremely noteworthy wrestling storyline? Not just for the women, I’m talking in general. This is pro wrestling afterall and if you’re (you as in people)expecting some oscar worthy event everytime, you’re watching the wrong show. Leave the details to actual movies and tv shows like The Walking Dead. Love that show btw. But wrestling is a lot like the Resident Evil movies. Cinematic trash – guilty pleasures. Not much substance and a lot of action and cheap excuses to take certain directions that make no sense.
I’m sorry but, one way or another you can’t make everyone happy and as for me….it doesn’t take too much for me to enjoy my wrestling. Engaging enough characters are what I look for and AJ and the divas are doing well so far in my book. So the title took a backseat. We’ve never seen that before right? *Sarcasm*
I’m just glad the women are being used and its something more than the typical, “Jealousy” reason – as JR loved to exclaim many times with the divas.
when it comes to the walking dead, i only find myself caring about andrea and not really giving a crap whether anybody dies or not LOL so yeah maybe there’s just something wrong with me.
I’m not a fan of AJ, NEVER have been but people are being a bit harsh, everyone was begging for her to be in the spotlight, and I was like ‘ugh’ and now your sick of her already? TOUGH ride it out.
I’m personally enjoying the Eve Kaitlyn thing so much more.
I bet they were planning on having something with Kaitlyn, but the whole arrest thing happened. I’m not too worried. I can only see things going up from here.
turns out there was a divas backstage segment taped:

Something’s better than nothing I guess….like others have said, Kaitlyn’s arrest was a bench of a monkey wrench if there were plans for a diva’s match or segment beyond this.

redsandman99 Reply: November 21st, 2012 at 6:14 pm
Why would he worry about the Rock? He’s clearly out of the title picture now and I don’t see him getting back in or having the title by Royal Rumble. Punk’s the one that will have to worry about the Rock.
