Impact Write-Up (November 22nd, 2012): Taeler Hendrix is Back and Looking to Make an Impression on the Champ

Greetings everyone, and welcome to this week’s edition of the Impact Write-Up. Provided you celebrate Thanksgiving, you’re likely either still digesting yesterday’s intense meal, or just getting back home from a hard fought morning of getting insane deals on your favorite electronics, towels, or if you’re like me, DVDs! In the land of Impact, we were treated to a Thanksgiving miracle, as Gut Check winner, Taeler Hendrix made her first appearance in what I’m sure is months. She returned for Open Fight Night with the other victors, calling out anyone on the roster they wish… and who else for her to take on than the woman she faced in her tryout? Knockouts Champion, Tara faces the plucky redhead in a one on one match, as we also see appearances from ODB and Brooke Hogan throughout the night as well. So put down the leftover change from Black Friday (if you have anything left), and get to reading!

Following a video package highlighting Taeler Hendrix’s journey to maintain a contract with Impact Wrestling, we head backstage to see her warming up as Brooke Hogan enters the scene. She asks Tay Tay if she’s ready for tonight, citing that God brought her here for a reason as she’s the only female Gut Check winner thus far. Brooke tells Tay Tay to use the nerves as adrenaline, eventually wishing her luck and heading out.. as we head to a brief commercial.

Upon returning… the… the music of an angel hits. Well, close enough. The instrumental version of one of my Knockout idols, Jenna Morasca, hits, but it is not Jenna that comes out. It seems Tay Tay will also try to survive tonight, which is brought forth as the raging red head from beantown grabs a microphone and calls out the Knockouts Champion, Tara! Both Tara and Jesse walk out, as referee Taryn Terrell tries to restrain the two ladies from getting in each other’s faces before the bell rings. Taeler offers a handshake, but Tara refuses and the match kicks off with a lock up. Tara shoves Hendrix back and takes the early advantage, before walking over for Jesse to help her prepare.

The Knockouts Champion doesn’t miss a beat, as she continues to beat Taeler down and get a confidence boost from Jesse. No sign of life for Taeler yet, as the crowd gets behind her and Tara tries to force her to smile for a camera with a choke on the ropes. Our champion proceeds to grab her by the hair in a brief submission, but Taeler finally starts to show a little fight… for all of a few seconds. The crowd is beyond in favor of Taeler, as she dropkicks Tara into Jesse and gets a roll up for a two count. Taeler with a hip toss now, before ducking a series of punches and hitting a sick side suplex! Hendrix with a headbutt, as she starts boxing like a female Mike Tyson!

Taeler gets a running crossbody for a two count, as Jesse now gets on the apron to distract her. Tara almost collides with Jesse, but she turns right around into a nice roundhouse kick to the head for a two count. Hendrix continues to try and keep the momentum in her favor, but Tara scores with a nasty facebreaker to the knee. If that wasn’t enough to stun the Gut Check Champ, Tara then drills her with a shot to the face and cements the end of the match by planting her with a Widows Peak. One… Two… Three.. and it’s all over. Tara and Jesse celebrate the win together, as I begin hoping for Taeler to make another appearance before three more months pass.

Also check out ODB and Tara as they manage their respected male counterparts in a triple threat match also involving Robbie E:

Thoughts: Another solid week of Impact, which continues to make me wonder if the taped shows are a better idea since in the past two weeks we’ve gotten to see so many of the Knockouts instead of just getting one or two of the same people each episode for a month straight. As someone who enjoyed Taeler in her Gut Check appearance, it was great to see her back again this week. I thought she did better here than in her first showing, but I still fear she will disappear for another few months. The freshness is great for the ladies of Impact, and if Eric Young is really gone from TNA, then all of these Knockouts can form into teams and remind everyone that they actually have tag titles. But that’s a rant for another time, and all in all, I’m pretty pleased with seeing Taeler back tonight. Kind of wish there was something with Mickie James after her win last week, such as maybe Tara tries to add further damage to Taeler after the match, but Mickie runs out to put a stop to it. But in the end, at least we got the champion on TV and got to see someone we haven’t in a while.

I was not impressed with Taeler, she still has some flaws. And should be sent back to OVW for alittle more training I think.

Jake could definitely do a write-up on Taeler. Three easy tips on how to not look like a cheap hooker.
#1. Wear Nylon or Lycra tights under your gear.
#2. Don’t buy your gear from a stripper or p*** shop. Hire a seamstress or learn to sew.
    #3. Invest in conditioner.

Even with all of that said, I do like her. I just wish she didn’t look a friggin’ cheap. Rookie or not, her and Sam Shaw make Impact look even more like an indy gig with a TV contract.

… I’m so glad you know what everyone is thinking. Might wanna read some of the comments below, buddy. Someone points out Taeler’s hair as well and a few others comment on her outfit.

Sorry, she looks cheap here. Trust me, she’s likely heard way harsher critiques than mine or anyone else seen here on DD.

Anotherspirited performance by Taeler. There were a couple of points in the match where things looked a bit out of synch but aside from that I was please with what I saw.
Is it me or can Taeler sell bumps really well?

The headbutt part with the viscious punches was really awesome!!!
This was one amazing week for the knockouts! Mickie was not there apparently but I loved that Taeler was able to come back!

Poor Taeler seems to have an awful hair day every time she comes to the iMPACT Zone. Maybe it’s the humidity in Florida. lol

Idk why but the first time I saw Taelor I didn’t find her any good
Now I find her really hot!!! The match itself sucked but the rest of the matches were pretty awesome, Open Fight Night!

Oh man!! A-Double totally calling out Sexy Brooke Hogan lol “why settle for that turky when I can give you ALL the Stuffing you can handle” lol PWND!!
Why do ppl hate on Brooke Hogan? She’s a beauty!! I actually like her a lot!

And I was supper pissed at Aces n Eights hurting EY and handcuffing ODB making her watch as EY was being brutalized :(

Not a fan of ‘Tay Tay’s’ attire, but I liked her in-ring work. Tara was of course on point as usual. Not watching the rest because I’m not a fan of it.

I thought Taeler did well and I loved the Moolah Whip around the 5 minute mark. Alot of times when people do that move it doesn’t look effective but boy did Tara sling that girl!

I’m sorry but when beth did it like every week, did it look slutty? Why I dislike most people from Boston with a passion.

        November 24, 2012 at 10:08 pm

When Beth did it the person’s body fell naturally like that from the Glam Slam. When Taylor did it, she crawls over and drapes herself over the person’s body with her ass on their stomach and posing like a pin up model with her chest sticking out.

It did look cheap and waaaaaay too much sexy to be taken seriously. She’s hamming it up too much.

    1. When I heard that theme, I thought Jenna Morasca was about to come out.

    2. When I saw Tara’s outfit backstage, I thought it was Maxine and I was about to flip shit. God I miss her.

Overall, the match was pretty good. I really liked it.

Is it just me or does Taeler look like Keke from The Fresh Beat Band?

I see a lot of Trish in Taeler, and by Trish i mean the Chick Kick and how she raises her arm to the crwod in her entrance. Taeler has a great future, from the firt time i saw her, i saw a lot of improvement.

I think Taeler is a big Trish fan. She also used the Stratusphere in another match, so I think the move copying is intentional. Or should I say emulation, I don’t think she’s doing it to be disrespectful. She’s probably a fan.

I like Taeler’s attire! it’s so colorful & suit her pale skin but I expected more skill from her.

Dear Ex.WWE vixen Tara: Stop borrowing Maxine’s attires and go back to your Spider attires they where kickass.

Loved Taeler’s headbutt, looked awesome and so did her punches! Good match!
However, that nude under thing, under her top was just horrible. I loved the ring gear she had for her Gut Check match and when she got her contract, no idea why she couldn’t wear that! I do like the motercycle jacket she added (side note, I think more Knockouts and Divas should have a coat or something to take off I just really like it).
Now my second complaint, her hair was HORRIBLE! I love her as a red head, however now your on TV, its time to get it professionally done. You can go to Rite Aid and get hair stripper for like 10 bucks, strip you head of that awful red and go to a salon and get your hair dies professionally!!! Let it be your splurge ever so often!!!

not fussed about what taeler was wearing my only interest wasin finding out if she’s improved since her gut check match and from what i just saw clearly she has and girl put on a good match. well done!.

    November 24, 2012 at 8:02 am

I see many of you are so anal about her hair being bad and blah blah blah, You guys this wrestling not America Next Top Model your only concern should be on how good her ring skills are!

    • Jordan

      November 24, 2012 at 10:17 am

Yet above, you’re recommending which attires Tara should be wearing… a little contradicting.

Everyone loves glitz and glam to their female wrestlers. If they don’t – they’re (probably) lying.

It isn’t being anal to want Taeler to look half as good as how she wrestles. It’s what will make her a complete package in return.

      • Ryan

        November 24, 2012 at 4:39 pm

I wonder if taelor likes anal.. Wait whut?

        November 25, 2012 at 4:04 pm

Thats only because she’s trying to copy a Ex.WWE rookie, like come on she’s better than that. Next to Yumi Okah I consider Tara the best model turned wrestler.

      November 24, 2012 at 10:10 pm

Yes. And they were bad. Why isn’t anyone talking about that? Diva Dirt women’s wrestling– one step forward, two steps back.

    Loved taeler in the match.
Her moveset was refreshing, her selling very good.
Loved the side suplex she delivered most of all.
I really hope she will be featured more often in the future cause the potential is there and the girl can work for sure. :)

The best Knockout match in a long time in my opinion. Love the mix that Taeler and Tara bring to the ring. I felt that Tara was the champion and Taeler was the new knockout and that is what I loved about the match. Both of them played their characters really well and the match to me is a 4 to 5 star. I love when knockouts put out single matches that still impress me. (:

I wasn’t really impressed with the match overall but you have to give it to Taeler that kick blew Trish’s out of the water.
